Lol... "cultural appropriation" is exactly what happened with Ramen in Japan. They took a Chinese dish and morphed it into something that was more palatable for their people.

Just like crazy American sushi, American pizza, American Chinese (or hell, Japanese Chinese for that matter), etc. etc. It happens in every country and it's a good thing. There's room for the authentic stuff and the knock-off [insert nation name]-ized version.
