I'd say very high tbhWhat are the odds Epic will try to get PC exclusivity for FF7 remake when it comes out for PC? It is an UE game.

What's that old saying about free services? Something like "if you aren't paying for the product, you are the product". I still have no goodwill and faith towards Tim and EGS that they're not mining information and selling it, when the launcher was proven to be scanning your Steam library and friend lists when it released.Hate EGS all you like, I agree it's certainly no Steam, but I'll still just keep building my library of 60+ games (some AAA) free of charge. Some highlights of the giveaways as of yet are:
You can dislike the service but still get the games, folks. Free is free.
- World War Z
- Subnautica
- Kingdom Come: Deliverance
- What Remains of Edith Finch
- Just Cause 4
- Yooka Laylee & The Impossible Lair
- Axiom Verge
- Hob
- Thimbleweed Park
- Superhot
Zero games have gone EGS because of it, 100% of timed exclusives have gone there because of the up front payment and sales guarantees which is obviously not gonna be a forever deal. Why assume when the info is all there?- The revenue sharing can attract people still, it's almost certainly why Ubisoft is using them as their secondary store, why any product is going to EGS first, etc.
Exclusives this year are weak because pickings are slim. Everyone is saving their big guns for next gen and those are the games EGS will make moves on.Their exclusives for this year are weak. If they do manage to get Sony exclusivity that will change things, but I don't expect it.
The #1 thing they need to do asap is to allow all games onto their store.
What EGS has going for it:
- The revenue sharing can attract people still, it's almost certainly why Ubisoft is using them as their secondary store, why any product is going to EGS first, etc.
- The special Unreal Engine deals they are willing to make if you go exclusive to their store
- They are offering their Fortnite architecture up to devs to use, even if they launch on Steam, but it opens up relationship opportunities and shows they have potential of expanding their services much like Valve does with all the Steam bells and whistles
- The revenue sharing, did I mention that?
What they have going against them:
- The store is fucking garbage right now and is not prepared for a lot of games by Epic's own admission (no actual tools for even uploading / managing games)
- TERRIBLE word of mouth so far, they really fucked up the landing with their exclusive deals, how they were communicated, and aspy Tim Sweeney
- The store is fucking garbage right now, did I mention that?
And just a choice few producers, it's still an anti-indie closed platform just like Steam used to be and caved under developer and gamer demand to be more inclusive, first with greenlight and then with the current situation, staying true to the PC as an open platform.Note that in your list of positives, it is all about devs/publishers. And in the negatives, it is all about customers/gamers. What service succeeds by sucking up to content producers and delivering a shit heap to customers?
Why would UE5 games be more likely to end up as EGS exclusives than UE4 games?
- UE5 was announced today and when that engine becomes standard we can probably expect a whole helluva lot more exclusives on their store.
They have been "buddy buddy" with Sony this entire generation. They have to be. They make the best selling console around. If Sony has some sort of exclusivity deal with Epic, then why are Horizon and Death Stranding coming to Steam?
- They also seem INCREDIBLY buddy buddy with Sony so there's likely some sort of marketing deal in place. I expect some Sony games that hit PC to go exclusive to the EGS.
How can you say Ubisoft's games are EGS exclusive when they're selling them on their own store?
- Ubisoft has been quiet towards the end of the gen, but that's because their teams are gearing up for next gen. All future Ubi titles are exclusive to the EGS.
- Clutch exclusives continue to pile up like SnowRunner, MechWarrior 5, Tony Hawk Pro Skater 1 & 2, Maneater, Saints Row The Third remastered, etc.
- They're even sniping smaller games like Huntdown
I preordered the Standard Edition of Predator Hunting Ground in March after playing the trial. A day or two before launch in April they revealed a Deluxe Edition, which I wanted to get. However, there was a bug on EGS that wouldn't allow me to purchase the Deluxe Version, or "upgrade", because I already preordered the Standard Edition. Eventually this was fixed but it wasn't until launch day. So, I bought the Deluxe Edition. Played the game, had my preorder bonus goodies, and was happy.
Eventually I was like, "Well, surely I can refund the Standard Edition and keep the Deluxe, why own two copies on one platform? So, I got it refunded. Problem is doing so completely removed my preorder bonuses, lmao. Which is bizarre cause I swore it was attached to my account and not the copy of the game. So, now I've been going back and forth with support trying to get my preorder bonuses back, and it sounds like it's really not going anywhere. Honestly I think language is an issue with how a lot of these emails respond. It's like they're not even reading my ticket.

UE games get even lower cut than 12%
Has anyone else noticed that the 'Stats' page on newer Xbox One games dont have any stats to show on the consoles main UI?I agree, but achievements on Steam is trash. Stats and achievements on Xbox is much better, and Tim have actually responded to my requests regarding this matter.
I’m pretty sure it’s because they no longer make it mandatory for devs. It was a somewhat recent change. Not sure why.Has anyone else noticed that the 'Stats' page on newer Xbox One games dont have any stats to show on the consoles main UI?
I havent seen any other comments on it. Anyone know why?
Exactly! I even pinpointed it in a screenshot I sent them. Circled it and everything. They got back to me before, but I haven't heard from them in awhile. Even after providing more information. It's a really lame situation. Told a buddy of mine at Illfonic about it, but he couldn't really do to much. Said they could attempt to attach those items to my account but there was no guarantee. Nothing's happened so I guess it didn't work.Once they removed a pre-purchase version from your account, the game was updated through an authorization process to a launch version. That is why you lost pre-order stuff. You should ask them about changing a version in your EGS account transactions-payment history from 'Predator Hunting Grounds Digital Deluxe Edition' to 'Predator Hunting Grounds Digital Deluxe Edition Pre-Purchase'.
Thats a shame. It was one of the best aspects of the console for me, sometimes I would of rather have bought the Xbox version of a game over the Ps4 version because of the stat system, now it's gone, theres no point.I’m pretty sure it’s because they no longer make it mandatory for devs. It was a somewhat recent change. How soon until PC gamers acknowledge the EGS as a legitimate contender here? All the bitching and moaning aside, I could see Epic wiping the floor with Steam if they don't step their game up.

Yeah, what?I have to admit. After installing EGS i have a nice backlog of games to play, something that never happened with steam.
I play mainly on console, ao EGS may actually be the «console gamers” pc store
Yeah, what?
- Unreal Engine since the early days is a "wow" thingThink about it

You can't count on that. Stuff announced on Steam has gone EGS exclusive in the past. After the Quantum Dream stuff, I was worried this might have been the case, but thankfully Horizon: Zero Dawn is announced for Steam.
Maybe I've just had bad experiences but I'd take EGS over Upray any day of the week and twice on Sundays. I basically have to reinstall Uplay every time I need it for a new Ubisoft game or it doesn't work. Ubisoft's website still thinks I live on the other side of the planet for some reason too.EGS is worse than any other digital game store... Juggernaut what?
