Games you remember, names you don't

Old DOS game. There was a dragon and there were calculations on a chessfield like plate. You had to make the right calculations. (e.g. go to plate saying "10+2", hit space to mark it, then go to plate with "12" on it and hit space to solve it). If you failed within the time, the dragon burnt the princess. Was more of a child learning game but I cant remember the name.

The game was a 3d action adventure with real time combat. I remember it taking place in a castle, but it was brightly coloured with quite a bit of colour variety. It had multiple playable characters. There were some generic ones, but there a 2 I remember. One of them was a large fat bipedal creature with a long tail. It was either a rat or a pig. The other character I remember was a small robot. It had red and blue variants. The graphics were very primitive and it played in 3rd person. By "primitive" i mean it looked like Bubsy 3D (I know it wasn't that though). There was a cut-scene which panned through a hall leading to a throne room that was red and yellow in colour.

I had only a PS1, PS2 and an original XBox at the time. My dad had some Amiga stuff as well but it was rarely used. I might have played it on a demo disc or something.

Which was a PS1 medieval sidescroller where you controlled a knight and the bosses where other knights i think. Damn it's very vague but can't remember more. Levels where in castles and dungeons.

Check Darkstone, Legend or Dragon Valor.
Definitely not Darkstone. But Dragon Valor is very close, actually my memory is playing me tricks now, maybe it was Dragon Valor but I dont remember the character to be able to move front and back though.

Could it be Alundra 2 or Brave Fencer Musashi then?

There was a game I played a lot of time ago on PS2. It was a racing game with coop (splitscreen). It was mostly about bikes and ATVs. I remember the most square-shaped indoor arena with a central ramp and few on the sides. I really want to see how that game looks now, cuz when i was younger I thought that it was a masterpiece of racing games.

it would honestly be a miracle if someone knew what came I'm talking about here. It has driven me nuts for decades trying to remember its name. I unfortunately don't remember much but dear god has this bugged me for ages.

It was around 1995ish and it was some goofy ass comedic dating/relationship simulator (or maybe a puzzle game?) , you could feed the gfs fish/dog/cat rat poison, hit the chick with a frying pan an all sorts of other goofy crap. If you screwed up the chick would kick you out and you would have to type out a apology letter. for the longest time I thought it was called "lovebugs" but googling that came up bugger all, so hey, thought I'd give you big brains a call.

Maybe one of Leisure Suit Larry games.

Wild guess.

There was this game on the PC we used to play in primary school back in the early 90s and for the life of me I can't remember it's name.

It was a side-scroller and you were an old man scientist, kinda looked like mario but with a white lab coat. And I think you were on a space station, and you were shooting aliens. Anyone?

Anyone can give me a manual for C64 game 'Mayday Squad'? I'm mostly interested in how to perform character's actions.

Possibly it was an MX vs ATV game. Unleashed released in 2005 and then Untamed two years later. Both were available for the PS2.

I’m looking for two games that I believe were only for the Japanese PS2.

The first one plays like Dynasty Warriors, but from a birds eye view. You have a sword and you take out groups of enemies on a hill. The attacks look pretty big compared to how small everyone appears. There is a combo or number meter in one of the corners, possibly a defeated enemy counter.

The second is a game where you play a hero (possibly feudal Japan). You lose all your senses. You have get your sight back, so everything is dark. Then you move on to gain back your other senses. I believe they’ve been stolen from you. It may even be in first person view.

It’s a shot in the dark, but I’m very interested to see if anyone knows these games. They were shown on G4’s Cinematech show many years ago.

Update:
The first one is Demon Chaos. I think it’s the camera angle.

Wondering about an indie game I saw a trailer for years ago.

it was an RPG I think, with a look similar to Earthbound. I remember some of the environments looked pretty surreal, but I don’t think they all did...some normal everyday stuff too. I think the story had something to do with death.

The trailer used this music:

EDIT found it, it’s called Omori. Apparently they just finished it and will be releasing soon. Here’s the Kickstarter launch trailer.

I have been trying to figure out the name of a game I played a long long time ago. I only remember little bits of it and its driving me nuts.

* It was either on Sega CD/PS1 because it had animated cut scenes
* Anime Style
* First Person, played like Kileak The DNA Imperative
* Had Mechs in some sort of base that they were trapped in.
* Red or Pink haired girl in I believe a pink mech that sacrifices herself to save the main character. I believe I remember her being reanimated after she died.

That's all I can remember, I am on a retro game kick and thinking about stuff I played way back.

Kinda sounds like Crime Crackers but I'm not sure.

VERY close to this style of gameplay but way more anime. I think I may have even played this because this looks very familiar too.

I don’t believe it was an import game. I looked at crime crackers and it’s not it. The anime style from what I remember was more like this randomly pulled pic from google.

It was the time of the Intel x286 with b/w monitors, I think '87 -'88 I don't remember exactly in what year... and a friend of mine had this game with a black cat that jumped from one window to another or on the wires where they hang the clothes and housed pots and the like... it's been an eternity and maybe my memories are a little off.
Does anyone as old as me remember this game by any chance?

Is it possible it's this? It's not so anime but kinda sorta is?

I have a game I don't remember the name to but I bet no one here will know it and it will forever be forgotten... but let's give it a try:

It is a free Browser based (most likely flash but could be something else) 1 on 1 Fighting game that I played around 2003 or 2004 maybe.

its graphics style was a 2D pixelated, similar to SNK but less detailed but higher overall resolution.

it was a pretty standard 1 on 1 fighting game with all you would expect from one... very SNK or Street Fighter 3 -esque

and here is maybe the hottest info about it that I can remember:
The guy or team behind it made a sequel which was not finished at the time I played the first game, so I don't know if it ever was finished.
BUT the sequel had a playable alpha demo with 2 or 3 semi-finished characters, and the sequel was called ????????? 2: End of all Hope (maybe THE End of all Hope)
in this alpha demo for it basically on every screen (if I remember correctly) so on the start screen, in the menus and during fights, the only piece of music that would play was "End of All Hope" by Nightwhish

I sadly don't remember much else about it, only that I found it on one of those FREE BROSER GAMES CLICK HERE types of sites back in the early 2000s

as I said, I bet no one remembers this game and if they do noone will find anything remaining about it online... but I can't get it out of my head... and it was pretty damn good too if my memory doesn't fail me... I played it for a year or so every week with my brother on the computer of my uncle lol.

Thread bump. Been trying to remember an old NES game, pretty sure it was the 1st video game I ever played. Only things I really remember is: you play as a ninja, leaping from tree to tree, set to a horrible soundtrack. Oh, also having no idea what the objective was. Send help.

I can't for the life of me find a space game on PS4
It's visually pretty similar to Everspace
maxresdefault.jpg

...but it has a more linear story mode structure with separate missions, and (I think) no roguelike elements.

I think it came out... 1 or 2 years ago? Maybe more?
Did anyone know something about it? Did I just dream about it?

I will try describe what i recall, its along time ago, around 1990 or so.

Was an arcade game, i believe it could of been a neo geo game. It was like a double dragon game, scrolling fighter, and the first boss was some kind of punk/gang leader who would end up swinging some sort of weapon a base bat or some sort of axe, i think it had spikes on it.

The main mechanic of that fight was the boss would swing the weapon in front of him none stop and if you attacked him you would take unavoidable damage. The trick was waiting for him to tire himself out, he would start pant, i think he leaned forward, bending over gasping for air, then you could go in and hit him.

there were lots of other characters with chains and knifes etc, which i had more detail, its just memory i had as a kid and it has always bugged me, mainly that first boss i recall.

On my own I managed to find one game I was looking for 26 years (Konami Wai Wai World), but this one stumps me. It was a fighting game 1 on 1. I played it on NES. I remember several enemies; Alex was fought in Netherlands? (there were windmills in his stage), Vince was fought in a stage with a big tree?, then there was a ninja fought in a stage with mountains and a plant hedge, there was also a boxer fought in New York? (I maybe remember the Statue of Liberty in the background). The protagonist was a Ryu knock off and he had some Japanese mansion stage.

I've tried before but failed. I played a game around 2000, the game was probably from mid 90's. I believe the game was called D.O.G. I think I found it on MobyGames once but it didn't have any screenshots. It was third person and your character was a 2D sprite. On one level you started on a small deserted island with a palm tree and had to swim to a bigger island. You had some kind of objective and shot enemy soldiers, you could also drive a vehicle that looked like a beach buggy. Almost like a precursor to the first Far Cry game. I would love to see some videos of the game today.

EDIT
Haha, I found it right after writing this.
