Assassin's Creed Origins

I was a bit on the fence in the beginning because it was much different and didn't nail the feel for me. I actually assassinated the first Masked Guy by accident and then it went to a 20 min flashback. I was so confused because the gold icon was in the temple, but now I realize that was an optional objective. I was probably not paying attention and just watching icons. I need to retrain my brain to pay attention to subtle details.

I really miss the eagle vision to highlight targets, but I'm getting used to the actual eagle/hawk/falcon (not sure lol). I just got to Alexandria and finally got the hood and hidden blade. NOW, it feels like AC to me.

Going for platinum in Sekiro and today I beat Sword Saint Isshin on NG++. He was a tough challenge, mainly because he hits like a truck and eats up my posture quickly, in third phase especially. Incredible boss fight. Sekiro has so many memorable bosses, with Owl, Genichiro, Ape, Butterfly, True Monk and Isshin being my favourites.

For platinum I only have one ending left and purchasing all skills. I think I need 12 more points until I unlock the trophy.

A nice touch in Sekiro is that whenever Wolf is doing a death blow to an animal, he gently caresses their head before executing them. He does this with the Blazing Bull and the Divine Dragon. The only animal he isn't showing respect to is the Guardian Ape, which might be because the Ape is corrupted.

In Dark Souls the fight with Sif ends on a very sad note, with a limping Sif trying his hardest to protect his masters grave.

All of these little details makes me believe that Miyazaki is a huge animal lover and wants to incorporate this belief, and his respect for animals, into his body of work.

Just finished Red dead redemption 2 on my PS4 pro. An amazing experience, I think the best of this generation along with MGS5.

Now I'm starting something less complex and challenging: Forgotton Anne

Then I'll be ready for TLOU2 😀

Played about 3.5 hours of Fortnite with my brother last night. At the end of the last game we sat in lobby and talked strategy/tactics for an hour.

Came back to praise Uncharted 2 again. Masterpiece so far, the difference from U1 is staggering . I hope I can finish it this weekend and then move to U3.

I know how the formula will hold for the next 2 games but U2 is fucking brilliant!

I'm unexpectedly hooked to minecraft dungeons, the art style is utter shit like the original game and the game is pretty bare bones, but i love dungeon crawlers with isometric view so yeah...

Also trying to play risk of rain 2 but i'm not really liking the game, too much confusion and i absolutely hate games with timers...well at least it was only 8 euros...

You're in for a treat. U3 is just as good imo.

I'm fresh off my first playthrough of The Last of Us and immediately jumped into Uncharted 4. It's still just another Uncharted game, but it's done so well that I can look past that. Easily one of the best games of the generation from what I've played so far. Hoping to finish it tonight or tomorrow.

1. Halo 2 Anniversary. I'm currently going through the MCC, completed Halo Reach which was great but couldn't get through Halo CE. I think it's one of those games where you had to be there when it launched.

2. Witcher 3 on the One X. It's okay.. good production values and interesting world but the main story arc moves at the pace of a snail.

3. Just bought Persona 5 but haven't played it yet. Will be my 1st Persona game.

I'm with you on this one... I think UC4 was amazing and all but towards the end it got really boring. Same wave of enemies and same mechanic over and over again. Got 3/4 in and couldn't anymore. I think the game could have benefited from being shorter because it felt at times like they had run out of ideas.

Final Fantasy VII Remake.

I've never, in my life, played a Final Fantasy before. I like it! What's next after I finish though? Honestly I'm not that into playing older games or turn based games, what of the more modern entries should I play?

Purchased COD: MW2 campaign remaster the other day for $15 on PSN since I never played it before and will probably start that tomorrow. Then next week, I'll play the Swamps of Corsus DLC for Remnant: From the Ashes while waiting for TLOUP2.

From the looks of it, FF15 and F13 would be the most similar to FF7R.

The other ones are turn based (F12 is a hybrid and F11 + FF14 are MMO's)

If you've played RDR how would you compare it to RDR2 story wise?

Played RDR2 for a few hours then got sidetracked but planning on getting back to it soon. It came off as a lot slower than (story wise)

Modern Warfare 3 on PS3

Xenoblade on Switch

Xenoblade is better than I thought it would be but I still think it's a touch overrated, but that is probably because I'm not into that MMOish design, same reason I can't stand final fantasy 12. But I will say as someone who dislikes this particular style of RPG design, it's wayyyyyyy more fun than final fantasy 12 at least.

Putting my 4th playthrough of Sekiro on hold. I love the game to death but it's nice with a break once in a while to recharge the batteries. The parrying gets very intense and takes a toll on the hands and wrists. Only one ending left to Platinum.

Gonna boot up The Evil Within 2 and do a NG+. Haven't played it since release so I've forgotten a lot about it. Thought it was really good though and a solid follow up to Mikamis masterpiece.

On Switch I alternate between Donkey Kong Tropical Freeze and Red Faction. Both terrific games and a lot of fun. I've also advanced in the main campaign in Hyrule Warriors. But I get bored of it quickly so I only play it at leisure on work.

The story itself is so-so but arthur is a far better character than marston that is not even funny.
And yeah, the story is slow and kinda bloated in some parts.

just beat RE2 remake yesterday. Loved the tyrant fights....so epic. Will start my second play soon. Right now i'm playing Mario Odyssey, 3D World and Red Dead 2.

7 Remake is unique, each ff is unique. Honestly the most similar to 7 remake is kingdom hearts 2, that isn't to say they are similar but i'd say it's the closest.

If your new, I'd say check out the OG 7, but it is purely turn based (But you can crank up battle speed to sorta make it look action ish)

COD: Warzone for MP on X1X

Ive also been going through my backlog of Sony exclusives. Really considering an upgrade to a PS4 Pro as well. Likely won’t be getting a PS5 for a couple years. Xbox is my main system.

PC: GTA V and Borderlands 3
Xbox: Assassin's Creed Odyssey
PS4: inactive at the moment
Switch: Started up Golf Story again
Physical Board Games: started a campaign in Star Wars: Imperial Assault last night

Ive had Yakuza 0 in the backlog for a while now. Got into last week. Its been great so far. Ive ended up skipping the majority of cut scenes though. Just started to get really convoluted. Regardless, its been great!

And why or why not would you recommend someone else to play it?

Please do not post unmarked spoilers.

I am currently playing Wolfenstein 2 on Xbox One X.

I would recommend playing it. It has surprised me with great storytelling and a mature but coherent plot. The visuals are stunning to me, and it is loaded with interesting personalities. Off the wall but good.

I do not recommend it if younger. The game is very mature in its themes and plots. This is definitely not a game for younger, not matured kids.
Went back to the PS2 to play Suikoden 3 and original Luigi's Mansion on GC. My wife is more of a modern gen console gamer. She's playing Resident Evil Revelations port for the Switch and Super Smash Ultimate on the Switch as well.

Chapter 2 in The Evil Within 2. I've spotted a couple of horror movie references. First is a carpet in the building where you investigating the bizarre photography murders. The carpet has the exact same pattern as the carpet in the interiors of the Overlook Hotel in Stanley Kubrick's The Shining.

The second movie reference is when you enter the first house after being chased by that gruesome creature with a chainsaw. The hallway in the house has the exact same structure as in the house that Nancy Thompson lives in A Nightmare on Elm Street. The staircase is positioned in the same way and even the front door is the same with the same design. It has a small glass window in the center of the door, which Freddy breaks when he is chasing Nancy in one of her dreams (Freddy taunts Nancy and has Tina's cut off face over his own.

For reference: Sticky staircase scene

You know, after thinking about it. Overall I like TEW2 a hell of a lot more then REmake3.

TEW2 has some great moments, the photographer boss battle, the camera boss fight.

I loved TEW 2. Not as good as the first, but a solid sequel nonetheless. The surreal images is right up my alley and the open structure in the beginning makes it feel very Silent Hill-esque. It does take away some of the excellent pacing of the first game though. And I agree on the boss battles. They were awesome.

I haven't played RE 3 yet, but given the lukewarm reception and the fact that I never cared for the original (I consider CV the true sequel to RE2) I'll probably just wait for a major sale.

wow was this hard to get into. Like 20 hours and and one point I had to just stop and watch some videos on the chains and combat.

once it all clicks it’s really fun and rewarding.

Still playing trials of mana. I'm a few trophies short of the platinum. The good news is that three of them wont take any time at all. The bad news is the last one requires one more playthrough before I'm finally done.
