See you Thursday, June 11 at 1:00pm Pacific time (9:00pm BST) for a look at the future of gaming

Azelover

Titanic was called the Ship of Dreams, and it was. It really was.
I just want a little bit of excitement.

So far, next gen has been SO boring.

Granted, the ball hasn't really started rolling yet, hopefully tomorrow that will change in some degree.

Within the next 24 hours, we will have seen what the future of gaming has in store for us, as well as the last of us part 2 reviews.

OMG I CAN'T SLEEP

I'm posting bullshit even though you don't know yourself? Ok buddy

How do I not know? It was streamed in 4K live on mixer.

I watched on mixer, I will not comment on other channels I didn't watch it on, but if they broadcast it 4K on one platform you have to assume it was 4K on all platforms. Youtube's bitrate is starved to shit but so anyone with any idea watched it on mixer.

Reading comprehension after getting called out because it was streamed live in 4K :messenger_grinning_sweat:

Its going to be a long day at work. Have to settle for impressions and some sneak peaks till i get out. But at least by the time im out the bigger games will probably be uploaded in 4k.

Fuck I'm really hoping this event isn't a letdown.
The past couple 'events' such as the PS5 architecture presentation and the Xbox third party showing were a little underwhelming.

I appreciate that Covid has fucked a lot of shit up, but these console are supposedly less than six months away from release now and the people are fucking starving. Hopefully the feast is bountiful.

I couldn't give a shit what it looks like. It could look like a mouldy old potato for all I care.

As long as they games are looking and playing good...then I'm content. I understand with controllers because if they look terrible, it can affect player performance, but the design of a console shouldn't be an issue for anyone.

I don't care if we see the console. I'd like a price though because I think that would be helpful for people who are saving to buy one.

Yea the price is quite important. The earlier the better as far as I'm concerned, but they go hand in hand. Can't see them revealing the price without the console. And it's traditionally we'd find out about this time of year anyway.

If it is a 2 hour show them just get it all over and done with.

I'm just worried about that Amazon place holder price. I was expected £500 at most. I hope it IS 2 hours but I'm doubtful it will be.

Aye that is a bit concerning. £500 isn't too high, seeing as now we have PS Now and GamePass. £500 would be really acceptable if they announce that exclusives are available on PS Now from day 1. Not sure if PS4 does it already as I went to Xbox in 2017 never owning PS Now.

They won't make console selling exclusives available to PSNow. It's not the same as Game Pass. I know why a lot of people want to compare them. We'll eventually see older titles moved over to PSNow, in the same way we're now seeing PS4 games moved over to it, but exclusives sell consoles and putting them, day 1, on PSNow would reduce sales of the console, rather like putting all your games on PC does.

How can you have a reveal and not show the console?

Nope. Not until next year at least, maybe 2 years in (my personal bet). They will take advantage of the extra power in the PS5 and push the current PSVR to it's max potential visually.

100% agree here! Plus they will want PSVR2 to be cost-efficient compared to the Valve Index.

It would be silly to not show the console. If media picks up the news of these games today, they need to be able to show a console at this point.
