You do realise sony was the first out of this generation of consoles to allow play with players from other platforms but yeah stick with that narrative you have.
Sony was the first console manufacturer to allow crossplay of any kind, with PC. Since the PS2 generation.

(Edit: SEGA did it first! I was very wrong up there.)

What can we say, some people are far more gullible than they assume others to be. Good marketing exploits that. Credit where it's due to MS.

Cool, except I'm not living in the past, I don't care nor I can do anything about what happened 5, 10, 20 years go, I can only talko about what's now and what's to come, and today's situation is what it is.

I have to say, I love Sony's marketing slogans, it's like that fake Kaz Twitter account is actually running the company, first we had #4theplayers, which was basically the opposite of their approach, and how it's #PlayHasNoLimits, except the games are limited to a single system, and you cannot play with people from other platforms, and any nudity is a no-go (unless it's from Druckmann). Nope, no limits at all.

Why people keep believing outlet placeholders is beyond my understanding...

Yeah, I hear you. I think people look at these prices as ballpark prices though. I don’t think people think they are the real thing. If they happen to match the pricing they think it will be, or close enough, they might think it is the real thing though.

Dude I remember that post, but I couldnt find it anywhere. I remember people laughing at the poly count model part :p

Things he was right about:

- Underwater exploration
- High poly model

But wind/fluid simulation.. well. I wouldnt be surprised (eventhough its in engine cutscenes. We saw waves crashing into cliffs/beach and nifty clouds). Though I dont believe "massive" aerial battles yet - how would that work gameplay wise?

Anyways I saw the vid doc of earlier versions of HZD and it featured a lot more units, than it shipped with (probably for (stress?) testing). Perhaps they always wanted lots of units?

Anyways thanks for the screen! :)

Edit: Dont think I have to point out, that Aloys hair was the least impressive part - so hes definitely wrong there (from whats been shown)

That post was quickly deleted and the user banned with a mod comment "you are fake news" lol, but yeah, I remember the post very well and I'm waiting for the gameplay presentation ever since. And I think we can agree he also got the wind simulation right, it looks suspiciously identical to GoT, but nevertheless, it's there, so it does make you wonder, how much more, if not all of the mentioned stuff is indeed true.

Great then live in the present where there is crossplay on every platform....Or would you rather live in the past just when it suits your idea ?
Because I don't really see the advantage in embrassing crossplay 2 gen later than sony.

Hearing things like this is starting to give me second thoughts on getting the Series X day 1. I want both next-gen consoles from jump, but the overall brand messaging has been weird and some of the games Grubb is stating are games I wouldn't touch.

Maybe I'll give Halo a shot as I have getting back into FPS games. I don't know, I think I have to see what this showcase is going to show. I'd love to see some japanese games make their way to the Console as well. Need to see the long-term output somehow.

Grubb doesn't work for MS and is simply giving his opinion. I wouldn't read much into it. That said, fuck him, Grounded is amazing.

Xbox is only system with fee for playing F2P games like fortnite. I would call it pretty anty consumer practice.

Yeah that is so wrong, it goes totally against the idea of games being F2P... There are rumors showing up about MS completely dropping the paywall for online gameplay, so we will see how it turns out.

Exactly, it is what it is, deal with it, because unless you decide to set up a gaming console company with your own business plan there's nothing you can do about it, the longer you deny it the longer you hurt yourself, nobody else.

Well if you agree that your argument was invalid from the start then great.

I have a theory on that lost paywall. I don't think any company would be so willing to throw away a major revenue stream. I think they're more likely looking to incorporate/streamline pay services into the Gamepass structure, possibly with new pricing. Getting rid of gold, and incorporating it would help grow that service and gain users into it. That's just my theory.

I could imagine that they are trying to establish a payment service on the PC too. For pure online gaming, however, they will not be successful, so they have to make it tasty for PC users in other ways. And to make it the same service for console and PC would make sense and be consistent.

I can see them stopping giving users free games every month and just give them access to gamepass.

but today's situation is that they DO support crossplay so what are you going on about?

They have Gamepass PC in beta with a price to it. I think it's limited time $1 per month, and soon to be $4 after. Something like that. Separate service from XBOX Gamepass for now.

I agree. PS Now already has free MP for the games in its catalog, probably MS is going the same way but incorporating Gold in the process. They already pulled 1-year Gold subscription option out, they'll probably announce the merge of Gamepass, Gold and Xcloud, granting automatic migration for those currently subscribed on Gold and Gamepass. All we have to know is the new price and if they will do it when XSX launches or before.

It would be one hell of a value if they do that, I don't know if Sony can counter that, maybe doing the same with PS+ and Now(if they can expand it to much more territories, of course).

some of it is true like native 4k 30 fps, aloy character model, water tesselation and underwater monsters.

didnt see anything about destructible environment, huge battles in the sky or wind simulation. if this was true, sony wouldve advertised that.

I don't see why Sony couldn't technically counter it, after all they have been doing game streaming a lot linger than MS have and could easily be miles ahead if they had the inclination to. As you said, Game Pass + XCloud is essentially PS+ and PS now combined. The ,main differences are that MS are making it more open in terms of devices (e.g. smartphones etc) and put AAA first party games on there at launch. Sony could easily do the same if they wanted to, and as I've said on another thread, its frustrated me a fair bit that they haven't!

The things I want to see tomorrow because why not:

-Halo Infinite please bring back the glory of the halo series
-Playground games new game, I love this studio in my opinion the best studio of Xbox
-Give me tech demos, I love tech demos
-Even when I love tech demos I will prefer the games which will be showed doesn't start with legend/disclaimer "in engine"
-Hellblade 2, something running in a real XSX not just an engine
-Medium this game is for now with Hellblade 2 the games which looks like will use in a better way the new console
-Give us dates or at least an approximation for the games of this year and next year
-Focus in your first party games with new IPs if is possible
-Backwards compatibility enhancements, I am not completely sure of what is going to do Sony so for now Xbox looks like will be better in this

What about you guys?
