Interesting. I've pondered an Ultraviolet/Movies anywhere type system for a while but I can't imagine console makers are willing to give up that revenue. I don't see this going far outside PC.
Yeah the missed revenue, is most likely the reason its not going to happen. That and retailers might get shafted...

But It would probably be more environmentally friendly, consumer friendly and hurt piracy - also just another step closer to the metaverse :]

I'd love a system like GOG recently did where I could link my PSN account and it gave me The Witcher 3 on PC for free. We should only have to buy a game once and unlock it for all platforms.

There is nothing in your list i'm in feeling with?
For now i just want to see "The iniative" game.
And i'm waiting to see game like Blue dragon or Lost odyssey (which will never hapenned :( )
I find it hard we'll see something from The Initiative aside from a teaser, really small studio created not long ago, just not enough time.

They mention 6.7m EUR budget for the Medium. The money has to come from an investor, it might be Microsoft. Also, why unlikely? If MS is satisfied with their output (the budget suggests an AA game which is a perfect fit for their Game Pass strategy), they might decide to put more money into the studio by buying their public stock.

The interview is full of big claims like "the biggest game of holiday 2020" (so isn't Halo launching then or are they that delusional?) I think that with help of Platige Image their game might be much better than their previous ones because PI are experienced in asset production (they worked on many games, including also at least one Playstation exclusive) and made a lot of intros and trailers (Witcher, Division, just to name a few). But I wouldn't hold my breath to expect the next Resident Evil level of IP.
Unlikely because they are a public company.

The things I want to see tomorrow because why not:

-Halo Infinite please bring back the glory of the halo series
-Playground games new game, I love this studio in my opinion the best studio of Xbox
-Give me tech demos, I love tech demos
-Even when I love tech demos I will prefer the games which will be showed doesn't start with legend/disclaimer "in engine"
-Hellblade 2, something running in a real XSX not just an engine
-Medium this game is for now with Hellblade 2 the games which looks like will use in a better way the new console
-Give us dates or at least an approximation for the games of this year and next year
-Focus in your first party games with new IPs if is possible
-Backwards compatibility enhancements, I am not completely sure of what is going to do Sony so for now Xbox looks like will be better in this

What about you guys?
Any game flexing Azure network (MMO?), Fable, Halo Infinite, HellBlade 2, Medium and hopefully (good) new IP's and a few jRPG's

If they dont showcase good multiplayer games, to me - would be bit of a missed opportunity. Even though it already has Gears and Halo, it would be nice to go a bit further imo.

I am a bit curious about the Initiative, but assume they'll have something to show much later.

That studio is just to new and think even they said before they will be not present in this event.

Is probably we saw a japanese game but the studio which make it has to think what is best option be an exclusive of Xbox and lost japanese market or
be released also in the PS5/Switch.

I mean probably a new IP of Xbox will be a good surprise for you.
Good question. Would like to know as well.
Will be only 1080p 60 fps, looks like they have the same problem as Sony, probably Youtube cannot guarantee a good streaming in higher resolution with this
big events in covid situation we have to remember streaming something like this require much server power but I am not sure of why I don't work in youtube.

The trailers will be later upload in 4k.
Ohhh interesting.

He is followed by Microsoft though.

Perhaps originally the show was a larger full on blowout with lockhart, release date, pricing, etc and now they pushed those pieces to August to combat Sony's State of Play?

I'm not worried either way...

If they ARE holding good stuff back it just means we have more to look forward to in August :)
Yes probably as they know Sony save some things for the event in August is not the best thing to show everything now, the problem is most of the people
don't care this, so if Xbox doesn't balance both events we are going to have a bad reaction in one of them.

Remember the time when we have this "fights" in only two days of difference instead to wait months to the next event. :lollipop_crying:

So Paul from RedGamingTech says he's reached out to a few sources and has heard that Sony are planning an event in August in which they'll reveal the full launch line up including the price of the console. Also that there will be another event sometime late in August in which Sony will do a console teardown revealing the cooling system and the APU. Take it with a grain of salt of course.

Why an event for a teardown? A youtube video on the official channel is more than enough.

Early August, console UI/features - launch games - price/release date and pre-orders

late August, a video teardown of the console.

Both could be right.

But that's not their own choice, right? The platforms just don't support 4K live streams, or am I wrong about this?
Not for livestreams no. Its probably way too much bandwidth (our current global affair, already strains infrastructure...)

Im impressed they'll be showing some games in 60fps though

Why not the other way around?...

I imagine it would be much more effective, to do a teardown first and than show the games. At least normal consumers, will understand what their seeing and how its done (sort of....)

Maybe its because AMD is planning to reveal RDNA2 for desktop soonish?
Anyways im sure however its going to pan out it wil satiate by thirst :3

Well August seems really like the final month to really do this stuff.

Late August is supposed to be gamescom (or whatever it will be this year) so a presentation around that time makes sense as well.

Yes, Lockhart and pricing.

As much as I'd think they pretty much NEED to open up pricing info and pre-orders (Sony too, BTW!) I fear you may be right and they may hold pricing close to the vest still.

Honestly, I HOPE they don't talk about Lockhart at all either. Show the GAMES. Lots of Halo Infinite and other cool stuff- don't care if it's third party and coming to everyone or if it's exclusive or whatever. Just NEXT-GEN GAMES!

This shit is all common sense. 80% of us on this forum tabbed August for the teardown so it's not saying much.

Thnks for the info though ❤️

yeah at this point expect news from both companies every month until launch. Insiders you can retire. You served us well. We'll see you in a few years
