343 is the same studio that released Halo Anni on PC with the audio fundamentally broken.

You have to wonder if 343 still suffers from being one of the MS studios from the time when they way over-managed their studios.

I heard in general that Xbox was a miserable place to work 3-4 years ago. Like I worked with people at MS who laughed at me when I asked if they had any interest in working for XBox when I found out they were big gamers.

It seems like their recent studios are at least claiming to be far happier; but 343 is the remnants of Bungie who weren't happy with MS leaving, and I wonder if they still suffer from that.

They didn't show a big battle, that doesn't mean there won't be any.

We had those on the OG XBox... why wouldn't the Xbox One be able to pull them off?

Jaguar CPU is garbage but it's still capable of fun FPS games.
The gulf between current and next-gen CPU are huge. Not to mention all the bespoke hardware that takes further load off the CPU (audio, decompression, etc). This is probably the first indication for many people how far behind the Jaguar really is. But, yeah, it's still good enough for FPS fun.

Surely Phil Spencer would of watched the demo before hand and said fuck me we can't open with it looking like that.

Better of to postpone it a few weeks to try iron out some of the kinks, ok forget iron, steamroller.

Yeah this is what I’m wondering about.

I mean it’s not a live show - it’s a precanned demo. Is that really the best they can show now? Surely they’d have run it past many people and slowed it down to take a close look - they know the DFs and screen cappers would go looking for this.

As it happened they aren’t necessary - I was watching on my phone and it looked rough while running, never mind a screen cap.

it is so bad that I feel this generation gameplay of games are actually a downgrade from PS360 gen :messenger_tears_of_joy: . Compare Resistance, and Killzone 2 to this gen. Sony could not even remaster them on PS4 :messenger_tears_of_joy:

Yeah maybe you are right.

If Halo Infinite doesn't have big battles I'll be mad lol

So what are the games they haven’t revealed yet from other first-party studios?

Initiative and inXile, am I missing any other studios here?

Bo liked one of my posts in another channel yesterday but none i had written in this, he is normally super active in this thread, maybe he is on a time out or something.

I see sleep doctor got banned below, something to do with mods. After today its probably lucky he did, can you imagine how many trigger warning he would of issued to peoples posts today

Disingenuous bullshit in this thread is nothing new.

And H:I is still an xbone game regardless of Microsofts marketing.

I mean yeah, better than the first comparison, still not better than the old gen screenshot. But I dont think this even relevant. Honestly some low poly enemies and a bit of pop in isnt whats bugging me with this game.
I've said it another thread, but the game just doesnt "feel" good. I know we havent played it yet, but look at those animations. Look at the grappling hook animation, or the melee hits, or the shotgun feedback.

Thats how you do that shit. And you mix it with pumping music.
The whole world felt so lifeless with hardly any wild life or even ambient sounds or music. The birds at the end felt almost sarcastic. Like "oh shit, we've completely forgotten to fill the world with life, here put in some birds".

And yeah, lets not talk about vegetation...

Actually, you know what. Here is a thread with some of the most impressive shots from the PS5 event just to refresh every ones memories: https://www.neogaf.com/threads/captured-on-ps5-official-images-only.1547388/

Thanks for the fun guys.

To any Xbox guys, don't take all the poke to serious, it is mainly directed at poeple like Phil spencer and the mickey mouse brigade, like Dealer and eastwood timdog etc.

I am sure there is more to come from Microsoft and the good news it can only go up.
In flames that is. Jokes aside. :messenger_grimmacing_

Remember, If you like something don't let others ruin your fun.

Especially me, i can be an arse sometimes.
Peace all

The Last of Us Part 2 and Ghost of Tsushima have more interaction and movement on the environment and they run on ancient PS4 hardware.
Both games for example have less things happening in the same time also both run in 30 fps and requires a quantity of human work
like few in the industry are able to deliver so was not free and even then when I love the graphics of both any have for example reactive trees as a game
like crysis have in more a decade ago.

Don't confuse I don't say is not possible but all your see in physics still limited in the games you mention just for the fact is to heavy and the people
who made each game know how hard is to do it, just ask the engineer of Naughty Dog who wrote the code for the rope.

The problem with Halo is... the marketing, they are the guilt of we expect a game who use the new hardware to its limits I will not blame the people of
343, I am sure they do the best they can but in the end this most powerful thing which love to say to Phil well have this problem with titles crossgen.
The quality of work of Naughty Dog in creation of characters and animations between other things is absurd high probably only have a Rockstar as equals.

Could be poorly optimized draw distance stuff?

Or bad memory management or something.

It could be poorly optimised, but I really do think it's a limitation of the engine. Here's a clip of the ~1-2 seconds after exiting the map screen:

There's no reason why the XSX can't load this in more efficiently. This and the fact that they're patching in ray tracing makes me think the XSX version is getting shafted by XB1.

Here is a Halo fan's sincere live-reaction to the Halo gameplay bit. Most people don't care as much about graphics as us here - or more so, actually due to being such a fan of a certain franchise is completely unable to see anything wrong with it. Dude almost cries from the get-go, and when the actual gameplay starts he is blown away.

I guess this is just a showcase of people seeing what they want to see. Undoubtedly goes for both sides.

After rewatching sections, I now believe that many of the games shown are no where near ready to be released.

Forza "early in development"
Hellbalde 2 developed on unreal 5 which won't be commercially available till mid 2021.
Makes me wonder what does microsoft count as part of a launch lineup?
Maybe MS expanded the concept of "launch window" to include the first 2 years after the release.
