Understood, thanks. Well I really hope they upgrade the system because GPUwise is a very weak system, normally CUs are disabled they might increase the number of them giving the system a slight increase
I think do you have access to a PS5 dev kit to saying is a weak GPU and you found a bottleneck because
a console with a GPU with similar performance to a 2070-2070 super a device with a very similar performance
to the other console, all this in a device with a price of around $500 is far from be weak .

Also when a person pretend to be an expert in hardware but then say things like they should active some of the
CUs to increase the power it's a contradiction. Increase ignoring all the testing and optimization you did to use
36 Cus while also the price per console increment....

Is like say X medicament is not enough for the Covid we should inject soap.

I know Sony and Nintendo have done the same in the past to using so numbers of specs like Flops
and polygons per second as marketing weapon but doesn't works in that way.

So VFXVeteran was wrong again? Who would've though huh
I am still surprised how secure was while he assured that, I mean any user even without have knowledge
of programing can see each generation of games in consoles looks better than the last in a considerable way.

Holy shit, you sir have eagle eyes! I just re-looked at the 3D view and sure enough you can see those little tabs to pry off the covers!

As much as I dislike VFX, I dont think its a good idea to asses him in professional capacity...

Let's not pile on him. At this point its just too easy... Sorry to go SJW (I finally learned what this means on this site!!)

I agree with you. We all had our fun but let's not try and drag personal stuff into this.

We should just stick to reading and analyzing the information that he gives us.

Thinking Horizon would look better than its sequel on PS5 by just running it on PC with highest settings is the same line of thinking that resulted in 343i getting their pants pulled down with the shocking Halo: Craig footage.

I.e 'let's build this game for last gen but then wack up the res and framerate for Series X version, it'll look so next gen (and people won't notice the Xbox 360 geometry and Minecraft LOD in the background)'.

"Enjoy up to 12 hours of wireless play thanks to the built-in rechargeable battery. Connect to PS5 and PS4™ consoles as well as compatible Windows and macOS® computers using the included adaptor."

So.. It'll take up a usb slot on my laptop, but it doesn't run on proper Bluetooth, so I should have less interference that way.

But this means it can't pair to my phone like a Bluetooth headphones, I'll have to use the audio wire on phone instead?

True, but people always forgot the most important thing: software. Even when Big Navi and Ampere are out and their specs dwarf the next gen consoles on paper, it's irrelevant because nearly every game available today is made with 1.5-1.8 TFLOP machines as the target. Jumping that up 8-10x will take YEARS for developers to fully utilize and take advantage of.

The next gen console spec will become the new baseline, not the high end Navi and Ampere GPUs. And depsite the fact that PC hardware will continue to move forward during the next console generation, developers will still not be maxing out that 10-12 TF power envelope for some time.

So the fact that there may be 30 TFLOPs GPUs on the market by the end of the next console cycle is moot. It's like having a Ferrari engine in a Camry....nice to say you have it but the engine is not being utilized to anywhere near it's potential.

In others words, hardware always moves much faster than software :)

"Very" weak console:

Strong console

But if you can't see it, it's probably because you're a bozo and know nothing like DF, and VFX in movies.

Correct, to connect it to your phone you need an audio cable linked.

I have to ask, are you trolling or just misinformed by xbox trolls?

PS5 gpu isnt very weak, or even weak in any measureable way

If it would be half than what it is now, it would be in the weak territory, same as xsex would be with halved specs.

Current gen GPUs are very weak, and look what ps4 can still offer

Not sure if posted already. DualSense will have firmware updates.

What in the hell does a controller need firmware updates for?

Only things I can think of are moving the headset companion app into the controller for use with the headsets somehow, or if we get a back button attachment / PS5 Pro controller

I think the big thing that will affect visuals is Native 4K. If developers aim for less they can push visuals alot more and the image will end up looking similar to Native 4K.

I personally don't believe these consoles are good enough for Native 4K at 60FPS with amazing visuals however if developers are smart they can give us similar or better results at a lower resolution.

Battery efficiency, haptics control, touch-related... I'm sure there is lots that can be improved over time. We'll find out soon I guess.

Damn.........:lollipop_flores::lollipop_flores:

I laughed when people said Playstation had shit marketing vs Xbox's. But its "worse" than I thought...

If they can charge that for a PS4, I really think that PS5 might demolish records... Im really scared for release day :X

I might have to come equiped

The price is justified, you pay that and it pays you back with the best gaming experiences in gaming history. It's still a bargain this late.

It also has better range than BT. I can't get more than 1.5 m from the BT in my PC which makes the shitty Xbox pad almost wired (I have to stretch the extension cable across the room...)

I'm wondering what the plan is from Sony since PS4 Pro had that on-board checkerboarding hardware but we haven't heard of anything similar for PS5.

That's not a massive difference but I'd still rather play all my games at 60FPS. Veteran's claim that it'd look better than HFW was always farcical but he's right that HZD PC beats PS4 Pro better due to PC enhancements... but like... duh?

Off topic but I love that movie!
You Sir have Exquisite taste! as if that wasnt already apparent by our choice of platform :messenger_sunglasses:

Not disagreeing!! I still have a ton of games I want to play - because I was enveloped by competitive multiplayer games (Fortnite, Destiny and Warzone) most of this generation.

Now its like im a kid in a candy store :lollipop_beaming_smiling:

Sure it would be better than nothing. Like I said, any extra performance is welcome, but a couple of extra CU's won't turn a "very weak" system into something else. I'm also a graphic/tech whore. I've built a career on it. I've overclocked every CPU and GPU I've owned over the last 20 years. I jumped on OLED over 3 years ago. But if you were expecting these consoles to be much more than what they are then you just need to reevaluate your expectations. The fact they will be launching with better performance than 99% of PCs out there should tell you something. What exactly were you expecting?

So we have:
- rumours of a hardware revision
- yields are much better than expected
- patent for using two GPUs in parallel

20.56Tf monster incoming

:messenger_tears_of_joy:

Please note, this is a joke
