Exactly. At this point I'm wondering if comments like 'They should delay' and 'such negativity' really stem from a lack of personal enthusiasm for gaming. Nearly everything I saw during the PS5 showcase I want to play. I have tons of games that are receiving free updates, which means I will be able to play them day one (or close by) in native 4k/60 on my 65" Sony X950G in all their splendour. I'm even thinking about grabbing an 8K tv when they drop somewhat in price and having friends over during launch, letting them stay the night and play together, each on our own PS5's and having a blast.

Although I have no interest in the vast majority of Xbox releases, I can still get behind their vision and consider buying a console in the future to support their creativity and games they put out, so its not a fanboy thing. I love games most of all and can really lose myself in them. This has been a rough year for people that like to cuddle and kiss their loved ones (me) and people that like to party at festivals and house parties (me), so I find it really strange that some people want to delay one of the only things this year has going for it. If you can't find anything to get excited about for this launch, then it really is on you. Maybe lighten up and try to brighten this year.

I sure won't have it change my plans though. I'm buying 2 PS5 digital editions and am going to invite my friends for a good oldfashioned sleepover and game well into the night. My daughter is 5 years old and is equally excited. Love each other, love life and love gaming.

Honestly, you could not make up more FUD if you tried lol and I'm referring to the latter part, I find it interesting how literally no one else has leaked the same information, well anyone with at least an ounce of reliability. In fact all we've heard from developers, including third party devs is how easy it to develop games on the PS5, although I would say that porting games from one platform to another is an entirely different matter which could be a possible explanation for the RE8 on PS5 rumours.

Also I'm not buying into the Series X undercutting PS5 by a "significant" amount, if that was the actual case then Lockhart would not have existed.

I still think this is just a mistake with strategy. The 360 was their most successful generation but still ended up lagging behind Sony in sales at the end. I believe they got the XB1 RIGHT...they just made a miscalculation with the Kinect and TV functions...but really no big deal. They were also close enough in power to the PS4 that it didn't really matter at all. I don't care about DF blowing up freeze frames 300x to show the difference. So XB1 was fine. They continued this evolution with XB1X. It's just...they are up against a dominant player in Sony. So they didn't capture the same marketshare they had with the 360, which I believe just shows that Sony's $600 price tag for the PS3 had a HUGE effect. Without those missteps by Sony, MS was not able to expand their marketshare in a huge way.

I believe they recognized this and when they got rid of LionHead and other studios, they had already decided to make Xbox a platform and get out of the hardware market. For some reason they reconsidered this and decided to make at least one more console generation. But the delay and lack of developers cost them. So they bought more developers over the past 1-2 years but it will take those teams at least 2-3 more years to come out with products, even if they started those projects right away. So MS is simply depending mostly on the Xbox as a platform philosophy with GamePass and xCloud to carry them. I still believe that if XSX doesn't do significantly better than they have so far, that this will likely be their last console and they will focus on the software side. Software is Microsoft's core competency after all.

Well you see as it is the night mostly everything is in shadows and it hides the beauty underlying what we see.Maybe another time of the day under direct sunlight while squinting the eyes real hard and it would be absolutely gorgeous....

Or you kknow just check reflections of the truck and the hand in the puddle and just say say yeah it has ray tracing.

That would be better than the spinning playbook that he served for an other game.

Eh...some people are just getting overly negative because they're going down the news rabbit-hole. Easy enough to do...I've done it before. The trick is to pay attention to what's going on so you're not caught by surprise but not to focus on it in TOO much detail. Otherwise you get this kind of mindset. Yep, 2020 is a rough year..but there's plenty of positives out there if you're looking for and at them.

Prepare for the worst, but expect the best.

It's kind of hard to believe that people are out leaking the prices, with as closely guarded as that information is, I assume a leak would make for some awkward meetings.

If the systems implement RT differently I can see RT comparisons being a major focus in the H2H matchups. Which system is offering the most accuracy, which one is faking some things, does RT strike all objects in a scene or just some kind of predetermined static representation of a scene, etc. And 90% of gamers will never pay attention to any of it anyway. LOL

I expect LOD in the frames following a quick-turn to be another area of focus for the 400% zoom crew.

Not taking any shots at DF, they get enough heat here as it is, but just the entire concept of H2H comparisons between consoles. The videos can be enjoyable and I watch, but most never see any of this.

His bios on Twitter says he created two game engines, but then he immediately namedrops the Xbox Series S. If he has access to hardware and is in close contact with Microsoft, wouldn't that be a huge NDA violation?

What Bernkastel Bernkastel told me is that he's still getting his degree. So not exactly a full fledged developer with experience in the field.

As for NDA violations I'm pretty sure if he's making any there will be legal action against him really quickly. It's why I have doubts when done individuals just give us highly detailed information that's probably under NDA.

PS4/5 development kits are far too expensive for me to obtain (they are in excess of $4000, compared to Switch's $400 and Xbox's $0 dev mode). Unless someone wants to donate me a couple of PS4/5 devkits, I have no plans to support the platform. I apologize for any inconvience this may cause. Talk to Sony about lowering the price of their devkits to something reasonable if you are unhappy. You are of course free to make your own PS4/5 fork of Void2D, as long as it remains open source. If I do manage to get my hands on some PS4/5 devkits I may even use your code in the main branch, and of course you will be fully credited.

Sorry but I disagree with this. He didn't say it was SSR or RT, just passed comment on it could be either, as the low angle and DoF made it easier for it to be SSR. Can you highlight to me what part of this image indicates it is clearly not SSR? I've looked, and I don't see it.
