One specific person assumes PS5 3rd Party Devs Are Finding Hardware Troublesome™, “Sony Too” May be Common

Not really. He passed off speculation as "inside" info and then later retracted it, without qualification.

Did he pass off speculation as "inside info" or is that what people here are doing? Everything he said here falls strictly in the speculation camp, but it seems that Grubbs reputation is so sterling that people turn everything he says into gospel.

The other thing that's funny ... is how short people's memories are. It's like this didn't exist:

We've seen a ton of fantastic material running directly on PS5 already. Does that video look "troublesome"?

Sure, but that was only
a) a limited tech demo of a yet unreleased engine that
b) was running 1440p/30 on top

in the mean time, resetera mod and proven capcom insider -after the initial attack shock left- doubled down on what he said,
and once again says that what he heard extends to other, outside of capcom devs too:

I don't see how it is wrong for reporters to investigate.
on the contrary, it is a subject that is quite important for most people interested in the new machines

How bout we just let the article speak for itself. My own opinion on what their intentions were is irrelevant:

Despite what they’ve heard about PS5’s third-party struggles, both our insiders seem to agree the PS5 will be more expensive than the Xbox Series X due to it’s more novel tech. According to Grubb, a $500 PS5 price tag is likely. Take these rumors with a grain of salt for now, but this all sounds plausible to me -- we saw a similar story unfold with the PS3, which had some great exclusives, but a high price tag and a lot of iffy ports.

When the article uses the phrase "both our insiders" and "all sounds plausible", should I conclude something else?

Of course it all falls into the speculation camp. Prior to an apparent thread title change, the thread claimed that PS5 devs were finding hardware troublesome, and the op states Jeff hinted devs were struggling.

Not sure what else you want me to explain. It's very straightforward. A speculation was made, it ended up being a complete paper tiger, now people point and laugh.

There is nothing to get upset about or defensive over here. Has this not been largely the case since the One X and the Pro?

The air must be dense or I’m developing dementia, but they’ve said this about PS since PS2. They’ve probably said this since the SNES because developers have had more options to work with.

It’s funny because this sounds like something a University student says when they’re told to do a project they need to put effort into. Didn’t we hear about how great the PS5 was a developer standpoint months ago?

Now it’s all about random Twitter feeds and fan of survival horror games? It feels like a group of employees bad mouthing a job on their smoke break. If it was so easy, wouldn’t someone else do the job for you?

It’s like no one wants to use any new skills. People use computers everyday, but they don’t exactly know how to fix them. I think it’s a bunch of BS because this entire launch has been quiet. The people saying this crap can’t even post evidence that they’re telling the truth. Can’t Dusk Golem just buy an xbox if he’s so sure about this? It reeks of he said/she said bull sht.

The closest video game developer from where I live is over a thousand miles away from here. I might as well go ask GameStop employees if they believe all this crap because that’s about as much proof I have that it’s true.

Suffice to say, if this is how he approach everything, we can stop quote him on Xbox as well...

Photo mode looks dope, don't it?
I personally prefer gameplay.

So let me get this straight, everything Jeff has said up to this very moment has been 100% accurate truth and gospel, but now that he's indicated sources tell him they're having trouble with early games on PS5, he's an Xbox discord FUD spreader bought and paid for directly by Phil Spencer?

Have I about summed up the current situation?

Did you even read his tweet in the OP?

The graphics on display in that demo justifies that 1440p. And no one would have been able to guess what resolution it was running on. I for one thought it was native 4K when watching the uncompressed footage of this demo, the temporal upsampling looks that good. We got to know about the resolution only after DF's article where the devs stated what resolution it was running on.

Anyway, regarding Dusk Gollem, that person isn't a ResetEra mod. He was, but not anymore and rightly so.

1440p/30
and don't be so sure that "no one" could guess that is was not 4k native.

Regarding dusk, I didn't know he is no longer a mod, and actually it means nothing about his credibility, as he was talking as someone who knows and not as a "moderator".
his legitimacy was proven just a few days ago with his bold and very unlikely prediction about sf6 boss getting canned etc
