i would say during the jumps its very small segments with limited gameplay ending in a cutscene

dont think we are gonna be jumping from one big world to another and carry on

Seriously? They literally said what was happening, right after it happened. In front of you. Your eyes literally saw it happen. Your eyes. The ones in your head. Your ears heard it too. Your ears. You heard it. And saw it.

key word i said was "carry on"

call me jaded but they never showed or said you instantly move to another world and stay there... you jump through worlds, in small segments 🤷‍♂️

still best next gen game shown but i dont trust until i literally see it

This part jumped out at me watching the gameplay, DF had said the floor reflections were raytraced but here it is evident only elements like the doorways, characters and props are reflected, and the rest relies on cubemaps

Yep, as expected we'll see a combination of traditional techniques such as cube map screen space reflections to aid with raytracing to balance performance costs. The combined effect is still impressive in motion as long as the right elements get the RT treatment.

Precisely changing from one world to another quickly even for small moments, drastically changing what is on the screen, in worlds completely full of totally new objects and textures is the most difficult to achieve.

If it were a single transition, you could hide in textures loaded on the fly depending on the distance and hide the popping with fog..

I don't think you know how to appreciate what you see, it gives me the feeling that you think it's a Cut Scene but it can't be because you interact with those worlds, for example you move the dragon to avoid cars.

That part was made exactly to show how fast they can get rid of everything...

And people are complaining 😂

God...

Exactly. The power required to create new, fully rendered game worlds one after the other in engine, with that level of detail, and depth of field in every one, is enormous.

Honestly, I think the easiest path would simply not to have shiny floors. Shiny floors are dangerous. You can easily fall and slip a disk in your back. I'm sick and tired of video games pushing the liberal narrative that shiny floors are a thing. They're not. They're not a thing just as much as calling something fetch, so stop trying to make that happen too.

The worlds you jump to looked pretty complete. As in, if they wanted to leave you in one of those worlds they could've but for the purposes of the story you have to keep jumping until you get a cutscene.

I think what some are holding out for is to be able to jump between worlds at will. IIRC they mentioned those big jumps were limited to segments while you're chasing Dr. Nefarious.

Knowing that the I / O controller works that well, it will be time to jump at will.

Power can be done without any problem and we all hope that it can be skipped later to be able to collect the lost trophies or collectibles.

Functionally speaking, something else can be done is that the devs have done it.

Right!? I mean who the hell is out there buffing all these floors just so we can argue over what rendering technique is being used on them. The nerve. I say let them get dirty.

Oh I know it's possible, the I/O has shown it's more than capable, but so far they've been a bit coy about how they've implemented the actual world jumping rift mechanic. I hope that at some point the game opens up and you can jump between a few different worlds (or all) when you want and like you mentioned be able to backtrack and grab missed collectibles/trophies etc.

MS fans sure love their Don’t Nod games.

I haven't been able to commit to a single one since LIS. LIS:BTS was a total borefest that tries way to hard to whitewash Rachel Amber compared to what we find out about her in LIS. The BTS DLC with Max and Chloe was hitting it's stride, but then it was all over way too fast.

I think I just enjoyed the time powers and max herself, and not this genre of games.

For the love of God, it has been the most tedious thing so far this century, I no longer liked the geoff very well, but after this I can no longer see him in front 😤
