That's atrocious for 1gig. If this was for 2-3 gigs then ok but 1 gig nope nope nope . Another failure by Xbox

There are millions of whiny 5-year olds on Earth, and I AM THEIR KING.
This is a dumb move MS. More space will help you get more sales. I wonder if they have data on space use and games owned per individual.

Doesnt matter what the price is, if its Seagate its not worth it. The wording so far seems to imply that other companies will produce the proprietary drives later on, Ill jump on when more reputable SSD manufacturers release an expansion card of more than a terabyte. 4tb Samsung, and I'm in.

I am sure we have dozens of GameStop employees on these forums. This legit (if possibly placeholder) or not?

I hope that’s either fake or a placeholder because that’s a bit too expensive for a single gig.

SONY does not has proprietary storage option for ps5 .... you just get one off the shelf as long as it is PCiE 4 spec
..

Actually it kind of is proprietary since you really can’t put just any kind of SSD(or HDD obviously) inside the PS5, and there really aren’t many if any at all that’s PCiE 4 on the market.

It would remind me when you get that Xbox 360 arcade with a little memory card and had to buy the hard drive.

The fact that the availability is low right now, doesn't make it proprietary. Storage prices drop fast.

You clearly don't understand what that word means considering the context in which you are using it.

This is some fanboy loosing his shit and creating a "leak" to shit on Xbox hype today trying to creative a negative narrative, this couldn't be more obvious.

Ah yes, idle sloth, the notorious PlayStation fanboy.

it’s like these folks forgot how much that 360 proprietary hard drive costed.

i’m going to go with real. MS and Seagate both want to make money.

That is about what I expected. If you look at current Seagate drives and add the custom branding and enclosure it makes sense.

Cmon guys it can't be real. They're not going to charge almost the cost of a console for this. They would not have gone in this direction if this were the case.

1tb samsung nvme goes for about 190euros so doesn't seem high priced to me. Do you expect to cost less than a standard nvme drive?

yeah people have really weird expectations for the price of this drive

currently external 1TB SSDs run for ~$160 and this is newer tech than those as I understand it, plus Seagate ALWAYS charges more for their 'gaming' accessories so I'm not sure why anyone expected this not to be at least $199.99
