This is simply a better console to use than anything we’ve had since 2013. And anyone who plays on a console every day probably won’t regret that $500 preorder.

Loading Final Fantasy XV on the Xbox Series X took around 13 seconds. On the internal storage of the Xbox One X, that same loading sequence required longer than a minute. And this is a game that was not built with the Xbox Series X in mind. This is the result of the improvement to raw data throughput and not anything that is hooking into Velocity.

This is the Xbox feature that enables you to pick up a game from where you left off for up to four different games at a time. In my test, I went from an Xbox waiting in standby mode. I powered it on and then jumped into Grand Theft Auto 4, Sekiro, No Man’s Sky, and Final Fantasy XV in under 90 seconds.

But the Xbox Series X does support external, USB storage in a limited capacity. You can play legacy games off of those drives. And you can store Xbox Series X games, and then you can shift them back to the internal drive or expansion card when you need them.

And moving games from one drive to the other is pretty fast.

I tested moving Assassin’s Creed: Origins, a 49GB install, back and forth and was pretty happy with the results.

Here’s the data in minutes and seconds:

  • Moving Assassin’s Creed: Origins from external USB 3.0 SSD to internal SSD: 2:18.53
  • From external USB 3.0 HDD to internal SSD: 7:46.03
  • From internal SSD to external SSD: 04:33.10
  • From internal SSD to external HDD: 10:36.78

Grand Theft Auto IV runs at a nearly locked 60 frames per second on the Xbox Series X, and you get the feeling it could likely go even faster if it weren’t for the hard cap. This is about 25% faster than the average of 46 frames per second for GTA IV on the Xbox One X.

That's pretty fucking impressive.

Those improved RDR2 load times are a godsend, can't wait to play through it a second time on SeriesX. Were there any mentions of improved framerates or other enhancements?

I know almost everything of Xbox Series S and X, and now previews of its console are live and its an impressive console

I still don't have all the information about PS5.

You starting to pissing me off Jim
Difference is playstation has showed you games and newer ones to boot, which is the most important thing to said console

How is this possible without patch from developer???

Unlocked frame-rates in the current-gen builds. Hence DS3 and Bloodborne which have generally identical levels of performance now, will go up to 60 and 30 fps respectively on the next gen systems without the binaries being modified.

Basically the better a game runs now, the less the improvement.

Edit - Seems like it is that lagged on Xbox.

Before I call bullshit that gif I want to ask to Xbox owners.

Is the menu that fucking slow to open in Destiny (the right gif)?
Because if I compare it with the experience I have in Destiny and Destiny 2 (over 2000 hours combined) I should say it either:

A) In being slow down.
B) Exclusive lag with Xbox Destiny.
C) Made up comparison.

The main menu is very smooth and fast on PS4.

Spiderman Miles Morales (that I can play on a PS4 Pro), Demons Souls (which can wait, especially when I played and still have the 2008 DS, Horizon that I can play on PS4 Pro and Hitman, that I can play on PS4 Pro, and Godfall which I'm not interested).

Microsoft has been more confident and transparent in its communication lately.

Yes Destiny's menu is that slow so Series X definitely improved it a lot.

Likely because the engine is capable of putting out 60+fps on consoles but was just limited by the hardware. Think of buying a PC game that can run at 60fps, but your computer's hardware only allows you to run at 40. You upgrade these parts (like going from the XOX to XSX) and now it's capable of running at max settings.

It really is a little ridiculous, he’s turning into Jim Mattrick at this rate. I still can’t believe that if I didn’t happen to browsing Twitter and seeing the Geoff Keighly tweet I wouldn’t have a PS5 on launch day because the preorder debacle.

Yet they still have my $500 and have basically shown nothing. So we’ll see.
