Quick resume and improved loading times on these next-gen consoles are worth the price of admission alone, for me. Everything else is just a bonus.

Same here, I have a limited amount of time for gaming. Every little bit that shaves off a few seconds here and there, over the course of the next 4-5 years I plan on using it, this is just like buying extra gaming time. If you're an adult like me whose limiting factor is time instead of money, the Xbox Series X seems like a good value.

To be fair, these preview XSX units are not playing any next-gen games. They are only playing the backward compatible games at the moment. I would love to see how the XSX performs under maximum load while playing an exclusive (or a demanding 3rd party game will the next Assassin's Creed) game before I pick one up. Cheers!

Why does Richard switch to the percentage readout during the toughest framerate test of the video, in Hitman2? Framerate drops into the mid-40s for an extended part of the suburbs scene, but that's the only section in the whole video that gets a percentage readout, as opposed to the actual framerate. It's stuff like that that probably leads some people to question the reliability of the outlet. I have DF subbed on YT, and can overlook stuff like this, but that's clearly some dubious work on Rich's part. Don't open that scene by saying it's the toughest test for the GPU, and then switch up the performance display during the toughest portion of that scene. That's not coincidental.

Well that's his main skill, he survived generations doing similar manipulations. Additionally he has hypnotic skills, the god of hand gestures and such.

I think it has more to do with misinformation spread by people that dont understand how certain technology works...just because the PS5 SSD may be able to load "something" in 2 seconds isn't the same as loading a game (like RDR2) in 2 seconds. Its generally speaking a percentage improvement depending on many factors. thats why you get different results on different loads of the same game for those series X results...

broadly speaking, everything should load much faster, but because one game loads in about 10 seconds doesnt mean every game will behave the same way.

Agreed, of course it's going to run old games at 60fps, we want to see new games and how it performs. Also, they keep saying it's BC with all generations yet now it's changed to only 500 at launch. Plus instead of 1TB you're only getting 800GB...

They have always said it's backwards compatible with xbox one and all games that have been made backwards compatible on the xbox one...that 500 number was stated by some person online somewhere not anyone with official credits and its likely referring to the number of games microsoft has made backwards compatible on xbox one (OG and 360 games)

and as far as the TB thing goes....really? everyone knows 1tb does not = 1tb

This is what many PC gamers actually do since they cannot afford decent rig or game on laptop. They play some 5yrs old games. Many gamers will be playing Cyberpunk 2077 some 5yrs from now. We know BC is ps4 only. Geoff keighley has had u Duelsense, you must have missed that. UI,ps attire, who tf cares? Does that stuff make or break your purchase? We have seen next gen games , surely that's more important than the UI? It is a GAME console.

I played on the PS4 until shadow keep came out, the wait for when u hit the inventory button and it load in is that long or longer on PS4 pro. I have actually died in the game trying to switch weapons (also the reason none of the swap item glitches work on consoles becuase the menus loads are so slow).

I changed all the time between Sniper and Rockets without any issue with menus in both PVP and PVE.... more in PVE boss thought like in Raids... it takes 1-2 seconds in the worst case (it looks way more like the Series X gift) not the 4 seconds showed in the XB1X gif.
Unless like I said before they changed the menu loading time with the last expansion.

This is what I've been saying. I can deal with nearly any plausible console width in horizontal mode, it's the height that becomes limiting first. I'm not as convinced as others the X wins on size, it's a very smart design but the tallness would limit me before the PS5's wideness laid flat.

no its Where u use one of them items with the 5 second buffs, activate it, enter menue, swap item, exit, enter menus again and swap back and the effect last forever.

there was something with a rocket launcher over loading guns iirc, could get unlimited heavy if had 1 shot left.

trick with the glitched I mentioned was how fast the inventory loaded in, much to slow on consoles to do.

I have the exact same TV stand and it was bad in terms of airflow even for the ps4 pro. it sounded like a jet engine inside and once i put it on top it was silent. The hot air stays inside the cabine. You dont have that problem with it?

I have my PS4 Pro up top, under my 82" Samsung TV, and even added a Samsung EVO 860 internal SSD in it, and it still sounds like a jet taking off while playing COD: Modern Warfare.

That still mostly depends on your ISP and speed package. I am able to see get gig speed downloads on my Xbox S and X but my brother in Texas also on Gig speed can get about 650mbps
