If they manage to fuse together PS Remote Play and PSNow, we may be in front of a game changer.

You already see that with XCloud from Microsoft. Now extend that idea to PS5 and the ability to play, from the cloud, any PS5 game you own on a mobile device of your own choosing and there you have a Nintendo competitor (and please, make it work on my PSVita... the screen is sooo good!)

We are still living in a Data capped world, but we are getting here, especially once 5G becomes readily available.

I'm not really a mobile/handheld gamer anymore tbh.
Much prefer a big screen. I did enjoy using remote play when having to use the bathroom. But consoles exist because I just like plugging it into the main livingroom TV. Everything else is a bonus extra option.

At first renders i hated PS5 look, it was kinda distraction space machine. XsX looked much more minimalistic and i preferred it. But now conparing those two in RL photos XSX just look like lazy design work. PS5 is still strange but really brave design. And I started to like it.

Can't say I'm surprised about how the hands-on went down today. Not allowed to touch the console or photograph the rear (why?). At this point why control things so heavily?

Having said that, the fast SSD loading and cooling/acoustic impressions are very good to hear. Also as expected and already happened with XSX the console both looks better in the flesh and is nowhere near as big in real life as in dodgy pictures/AR.

NVMe drives get hot to the touch, 105 - 110 degrees on the chips is normal, with a heatsink typically being a bit hotter. Enough to give you a burning sensation. Some of the newer drives can hit 150 degrees under heavy load, these aren't cool devices.

So that's what they meant when they said you could hot swap the drive.

I honestly think that none of us thinks that the XSX isn't RDNA 2, but remembering how much bullshit has been thrown at ps5, I understand.
Except that in this case most people say that it is indeed Rdna 2 and it doesn't become a long lasting concern.

There's a curveball I wasn't expecting. So if it takes in air from different sections, based on orientation, I wonder if putting it on its side might be preferred for airflow. I was going to go vertical because of basic convection, and because it's how the system was originally presented. However, if there's any appreciable improvement in airflow, while in the horizontal position, then I'll be running is horizontal. This is the kind of stuff I want to know about. Looking forward to the first hands-on feedback, when people have units in their homes.

Well this thread has been kinda like a sinusoidal curve, FUD rose when no info released, then info released and people are happy/unhappy but less prone to fud, then no info and it starts again.
