Yeah, thanks for the heads up, I used to use these to clean my PS4:

But I recently found out about these beauties:

My PS5 can't have dirt on its surface if it doesn't have a surface:

Holy crap people, light scratches will not kill you.

OCD might somehow...
I wasn't complaining about it and btw I am not sure why all this aggressiveness... However, it does not look like a smart idea from a design perspective to produce something that might scratch with dust.

Looks Exactly like how it's supposed to look. Why are people crying about the glossy black? That's what all the renders looked like.

PS3 slim was matte too. In slim version matte case is way of cutting production cost. Pro on the other side was targeted on enthusiast market and that's one of groups which don't like piano black finish on devices. Look for gaming peripherals. Gloss finish is rare on them outside of some small details.
And for aluminum it's not even how it looks, but properties of it which make it not great material for external parts of any device. Aluminium is soft and have relativelly low yield strength (around 16-20MPa, for comparison glass fiber filled nylon can have it as high as 240Mpa). Which means it scratch and bend easily. It also conduct electricity which gives you problems like antenagate of iPhone 4 or other. Asus has notebook which you could feel with your fingers when it was connected to power supply. It literally was shocking users on touch. It also needs to be machined instead of just cast like any type of plastic. Machining is not only expensive but also really not eco-friendly. You need way more material which then need to be recycled which require transport to correct facility and then remelting which takes lots of energy. And all that is even before anodization which is really nasty process.
I agree with you assesment about aluminium, however I cannot help myself but like it, when it comes to touching it and shit like that. I know it's scam to a certain degree, because it's cheap and it's properties are not really great (see iPad Pro bend test), but something about it feels "high quality".

Looks like he's struggling to hold the pad in those videos.

Is it larger than the DS4? Do we have a side by side anywhere??

How on Earth you are scratching your console that sits in 2 meters away from you inside a media cabinet? My OG 60Gb chrome line PS3 has no scratches or dents. And it's a disk based console This shit has a 100% digital version, you don't even need to insert the disk. Do you all have cats or small babies that constantly touch your shit?

I am really excited to get a ps5, there looks to be so many improvements from last gen that it looks to be a wicked piece of kit.
The physical design is fucking terrible though, it's ugly, big, will match nothing in most people's home theatre case and needs a stand no matter what orientation.
In the end all I care about is that it's quiet and is reliable, but there is no question that it's ugly as sin

Size and processing speed is everything you could want my thing is I'm looking at it in terms of longevity it's right at home with PC sizing, it's what matters in the inside right. We'll see if there's any good custom editions.

It def looks better standing up.

But that dust and scratch magnet is going to be the bane of owners in a few months.
Their unit already looking hairy.

I think Sonys consoles have always kinda been outta the box designs so def keeping with their trend.....I imagine their Slim design will be more conservative and actually look good.

They didn't remove the protective skin on the black center part it seems

Yeah, I mean I liked the XSX design when it was first shown, but it looks very cheap compared to a PS5.

It looks good, the 664gb thing really messed with my day 1 purchase, hopefully it has more usable space than that.

The only good looking new console is the digital PS5, which is a console I'd only ever buy as a secondary/tertiary machine, because I want to keep playing my PS4 discs after selling my Pro.

First when they revealed it I didnt like it / didnt know what to think.

Now I think it looks cool and futuristic, most consoles look nice after they get more familiar (exceptions ps3, xbox og, xbox 360 og, xbox one/s/x) to the eye.

This will look nice!

You really couldn't get two design philosophies more different.

Series X is a straight forward continuation of previous consoles. It's all about the continuity - reflecting Msft's whole push towards everything on every platform. It's bland and safe, but doesn't annoy anyone.

Sony have gone right out on a limb by comparison. It's braver, weirder, more divisive, and drops its little Ps4 brother like a fucking stone.

I really like the fact the two companies are doing wildly different things across the board.

Is anyone not wondering why we havent seen the side of the machine that the disc attaches to make it horizontal......must be horrific

I like it but yeah, I can see the shiny getting scratches. The shiny part of the PS4 has a few and I barely touch it. The 60GB PS3 was all shiny plastic and even that got a few scratches.
