We have had this back and forward in a few posts now.

You need to stop bubble wrapping everything Microsoft does, these are not your friend's dude, your shilling for a company that is constantly letting people down.

In regards to pop in i have already said it in the posts, either you are have not read my replies or you are purposely ignoring them, i will now link what i posted a few hours ago so this clears up any confusion for you.

The above bold posted comment was posted by me at 3:06 pm this afternoon.

Happy now? probably not.

Now stop defending bullshit Microsoft does please.

Wrong matey, so wrong. No head up arse. Just wondering why there is a continual need for a select few well known Sony boys to lay into the Xbox. I shouldn't let it bother me, I know, but by FUCK it triggers me 😂.

Especially given I KNOW you are at least partly in it for these reactions - and here I am satisfying you (I should charge).

I will say this. Sony haven't even shown any BC yet. I wonder if there is a reason for that? Will you post such concern if old Sony games still have the same pop in, can't even reach a locked 60fps, or don't load in 2 seconds etc?
I assume their reason is they have actual new games to show off their console 🤷‍♂️

Depends mostly on the success of Game Pass, we'll have an update on these numbers tomorrow.

I know you won’t agree, but I think GamePass is going to look like small potatoes if and when Amazon come storming in the way I expect them to.

I keep thinking all these arguments we have about Microsoft vs Sony are going to look very outdated in a couple of years.

I’m getting a bit sick of being attacked for criticising Xbox, when I am more than prepared to also criticise Sony (evidenced in my post history).

The thing is... Microsoft are currently doing a worse job of selling me their new console and eco-system than Sony are, so I sound more critical of Xbox... because there‘s more to criticise.

Yep, its crazy, Microsoft fuck up, do something bad and people defend them or worse still attack the people who want Microsoft to do better.

And to complete this trifactor of bullshit, this is all self-imposed by Microsoft by not doing BASICS CORRECTLY

Going to say this bit again. This shit could of been avoided if Microsoft just did the basics right.

Showing a game with pop up when advertising next-gen loading features IS FUCKING RETARDED.

Absolutely, We need to be holding these companies to task, not allowing them to get away with shit or doing things half-arsed.

I want every single person here to go crazy on sony if they show something as obnoxious as that underwater scene.

You get to select the game you want to show off, you decided when you will release it, and it's all done under a controlled environment where you can cut and edit stuff out.

And you still release it like that. Do not fucking defend it please, no one should.

Unacceptable.

Amazon have had a bit of shaky start to the gaming division to be fair, but they have the platform so will be interesting to see where they go.

I‘m baffled by why we got SIX YEAR OLD Subnautica with awful pop up, instead of The Medium, Or Scorn, or Bright Memory, or Watch Dogs, or CoD, or, or, or...

I don’t think Amazon are going to make any waves with their own games. But offering 4k 60fps next gen gaming for a few bucks a month (and then probably free on Prime) with zero other outlay, on the best cloud platform, with 150 million Prime subscribers, Twitch, and billions of Amazon account holders?

Goof fucking luck, everybody else.

Did they actually say this?

Usually games are on PS+ for a couple months, but are added to your library permanently if you bothered to download it (can just add it to your queue and dont' actually have to DL.)

I wonder if they are even going to have it for sale separately while it's still on PS+ or if it will be a limited "Exclusive." I don't think their PR indicated that.

sorry, i didn't make it clear, people who didn't have the game downloaded will need to purchase the game afterwards. PS+ is required to play multiplier games. i don't think the game will be on sale anywhere else during the first 2 months.

EDIT: I'm in a meeting, only the half brain is functioning. lol

Well xCloud is part of Game Pass. Amazon will definitely be a force to be reckoned with, but they still miss one important thing that both Sony and Microsoft have. Development studios. There's a reason why Sony and Microsoft have been on a spending spree.

So xbox via xcloud on a fire stick it is then ?

"I think for us it's all about priority, and reaching more players. So we went to PC first after Xbox, because there's just so many players there, globally, that don't own an Xbox, that we could go reach. We went to mobile next because there's a billion Android phones on the planet. It's significantly larger than any console player base. We still have iOS to go after, we will come to iOS at some point. We're still working on some of our technology on PC for larger screens in terms of streaming, and getting to iOS, and I think once we get through that, we look at what the other options are. There's smart TV's out there, there's Chromebooks out there, there's FireTV out there, there's a lot of discussions we would have, we would prioritize it based on where we would find the most new players, that we could naturally bring content to. I love the Switch, I love PlayStation, honestly, I think they've done an amazing job as being a part of this industry. I'm not sure that those are the next big set of users for us, but we could be open to those discussions. "

Amazon won’t buy studios.

But they’ll make sure developers get paid better and treated better working with them.

That‘s what they do. They leverage industry grievance and bad practise for their advantage.

It‘s what they did for the book industry. They’ll do the same with gaming.

You have like a dozen pissed off posts because some 6 year old game running in BC had pop-in on a MS marketing video....

You sound fucking nuts bro.

You have called me nuts, insane for stating basic facts m8. i think you need to chill out abit.

I will ask you this question again since you have already avoided it once.

Do you think its acceptable to show a video like that with pop in like that when trying to advertise a next-gen feature for your next-generation console?

Yes or no. No shilling "lollipop_disappointed:

and hopefully, you don't find the question, err too insane for your liking.

Xcloud won’t be on Firestick, because of Luna.

He is in marketing - he does not have knowledge about technical matters. He is a variation of Aaron Greenberg that worked for Microsoft in the Xbox divison - now at Amazon.

Would not trust anything he has to say regarding tech.

He was also laughed off this forum back in 2013 saying MS "would never give up a 30+% power gap back then," the XB1 is a "more balanced console," and that they "invented DX12 which will close that gap," which started that whole DX12 "secret sauce" narrative that amounted to a wet fart.

Dude is ever so FOS.

I already answered your question. I wouldn't have shown it and don't think they should have. But.. even the framing of your question is overly dramatic. I don't care enough about a marketing video to deem it "unacceptable"; it changes NOTHING about the product on offer had they edited out that bit.. and I buy products, not marketing videos.

But.. it's just a stupid video showing backwards compat... the guy probably thought the HDR looked nice.

Freaking called it, folks.

Been dealing with the home situation for weeks now waiting on the sellers to tie up their loose ends with the estate.

Finally, its done. But as I predicted, our closing was pushed back...to PS5 launch day...

Sigh.

What are you talking about??

So they will be buying exclusive 3rd party games you think?

Potentially, yes. They’ll want to court and bring in smaller third party devs who have been shat on in the past by existing companies in the industry. They’ll make sure they pay them better, and provide better work practises. Don’t be surprised if Amazon forbids crunch as much as they are able.

However, they’ll also make sure Luna is the place to go for indie developers. They’ll make it easier, cheaper and quicker for them to get their games directly into the hands of Luna users.

If you want an Amazon philosophy, it’s this: cut out the unnecessary middle man.

Again, all this was done with the publishing industry. It’s also been happening with TV and film with Amazon Studios.

Big, industry shifting things are coming.

Sorry, I missed your reply that you kindly bolded for me.

In my defence, its easy to miss pertinent stuff as I scan and skip over the constant MS bashing/Sony circle jerk posts in this thread.

Having said that, I'm glad you at least claim you will call out on Sony too.

Now, can I trust you to do this yourself, as I'm not one to go trawling for such trivial issues in videos with the goal of scoring points? (and before you get your frillies in a twist, I am not implying this is you).

For Microsoft to have success with Game Pass... they will need to gobble up more studios. I do believe they tried to buy Bungie. They'd need non-stop content for GamePass to be viable.

Ubisoft may be next. Sega.. Warner Gaming.... If they really wanted to make a splash... why not Valve?

But at least there's a ton of video of people actually using an Xbox Series X out there.. meanwhile I'm left with a short PS5 video barely showing anything off. I'd rather see way more of the PS5, even from dorky marketing types.. and wouldn't give 2 shits if a BC game had pop-in on a video.

I’m glad Sony fans still criticise Sony when needed. Like the Destruction All-Stars situation. Many had pointed out they thought it was too expensive and should be on plus and Sony listened.

Now if only they could get rid of the fatties

oh what... so no unlocked frames for the high resolution mode?

so these stealth patches just make it be able to run on PS5 rather than give new options like GoT :(
Not really correct.

Ghost has an optional frame rate mode on PS4 Pro already, but its capped to 30 FPS. Like Horizon Zero Dawn.

God of War's frame rate mode is already uncapped on PS4 Pro, so it will run better on PS5.

They didn't add any extra options for PS5 for Ghost, it just can run at 60 instead of 30 when selecting the same frame rate mode.

Both games are just gonna be PS4 games on PS5 but will run at higher frame rates, if the player wants.

Yep, they'll bundle basic Luna in with Amazon Prime and instantly be able to boast massive subscriber numbers. Then just like Prime Video they will allow a mixture of free with subscription, premium channels (like Ubisoft) and pay to 'own' based content.

For exclusives, they will probably rely on commissioning studies to provide content, or buy exclusivity (of some kind) for games that look promising.

Well if someone has the money to break into gaming so late, it's Amazon. I think they'll have a better chance than Google who seems to do everything halve assed.

I won't say they'll automatically will be successful, because a lot depends on the actual implementation of their plans. Gaming is not an easy market to break into. But good times ahead.

What grievances are Amazon going to solve without actually owning dev studios?

You think they'll offer a larger cut of profits or something? Where is the precedent for that? Doesn't their digital store on Fire devices charge the industry standard 30%?
