I don't buy random 4chan rumors either.
That said while I don't believe there is any credibility here I can't say that some form of divestiture, reorganization, or sale wouldn't make sense for them as a business. Square Enix's western studios have absolutely been a headwind lately and clearly they need to change their strategy. I don't see outriders lighting up the sales charts either.

I doubt about IP - stuff like Tomb Raider is still popular if done right - but I believe the west branch will be sold eventually.
I mean knowing SE and Sony relationship and Sony's proficiency with third-person games, they can make a good Tomb Raider game. After all it is basically Uncharted with more puzzles and less actions.

I'm torn, because I'd like to see things happen with the Deus Ex and Thief IPs again, and that doesn't seem like it's going to happen anytime soon under Square-Enix.
But I'd also hate to see how badly they'd be butchered by Ubisoft. I couldn't see them making something approaching the quality of Human Revolution, or even Mankind Divided for that matter.

Wouldn't be terrible since I don't care about most western Square game, but I'd still prefer those studios and IP's to stay under Square as I'd rather have a minuscule chance of another good Deus Ex over a miniscule chance of a shitty Ubisoft Deus Ex.

Normally I'd say 'that sucks', but in this case.... SE hasn't produced anything worthwhile with those IPs in a long time, if ever, so may as well give them to someone else.

Not Ubisoft, I'd take EA over Ubisoft. I doubt this is true though. Ubisoft is the fucking worst they will inject RPG and forced shitty online elements into every game, not to mention a bunch of woke shit. Imagine a woke Rico Rodriguez or a woke Adam Jensen, the stuff of nightmares.
