Do it.... I know you won’t you chicken shit lol.

Seriously nows a great time. Both GPU makers just released their new architecture. There is always something on the horizon though.

Fuck it! I did it, but with a slightly cheaper option. Found a pre-built PC with a 3080 come in stock for $2199 and nabbed it. First prebuilt PC I've bought since like the mid-90s. Hope it doesn't blow up in my face!

Not an unlocked CPU, but I should be good for 1440p.

Guys guys guys, check out the review thread on Era. They're only allowing negative reviews and it's fucking hilarious. Maybe I'm getting too old ( I'm 27 jesus fucking Christ) but this is world is starting to scare me
That's how you make progress in society. Ban everything you disagree with.

Also, they act as if CDPR literally tweeted out "DEATH TO ALL TRANS". It's like random PR people are not super sensitive on the pulse living in Poland. I'm sure they'd be this upset if an African Developer wasn't ultra sensitive to Western Ideologies.

The madlad actually did it.... holy fuck haha.

After seeing the rtx screens I am jealous that I got a 5700xt. The non rtx screens look great but that 3080 is going to do wonders for you.

What are you guys talking about? I thought that all those crazy Era posters are just 4chan trolls who roleplay as Left-wing extremists as practical joke on mods.

The thought that they might be real people who actually act like that is even scarier.

They can, and some outlets do.

But personally, I think they deserve whatever score they get when they start asking for people's money. It's fair.
I agree.

But its also fair to change the score when the game keep on getting more value with time

So give a score on launch date, and if the game got better with time, update the review

Dont see how that wouldnt be fair

But in this case, the game is huge, so I dont see many outlets doing a re-review in the future

I kind of wanted to wait and see what the 6900 XT would bring, as I really do like AMD for some reason, but oh well! Evil empire Intel + Nvidia it is.

Sure, I don't get upset if places do a 2nd review or something. I'm just saying that I personally wouldn't feel the need to.

On some level, I feel like it doesn't help consumers and just helps reward companies that release buggy, broken games and ask full price for it.

It's basically just up to each outlet. But you're right that game journalists barely seem to have time to review long games now - let alone review them twice.

Excellent reviews and pretty much confirms this game is a success. Was never buying it day 1 but might play it sometime next year.

All I can say is play for yourself. Not everyone is going to have the same issues others have. Again going back to TW3, it's combat is trashed on by people all the time, but it's the characters, story, sidequests, and world that made people fall in love with it. Perhaps the positives just really outweigh the negatives here.

Sure, you're right. Just watched a 2 hour leak of PS5 version (well, PS4 version running on PS5) and it still looked fine. Framerate looked good, better than what Giant Bomb said about the PC version (he used a 2080 Ti, for what it's worth). Driving didn't look like a slideshow. It's relatively buggy though. He had at least one crash and some clipping.

What Gertsmann said on the open world itself seems right, it feels a bit sterile. You can't really interact with the NPCs on street or even during missions, they just have one liners... But at least the missions look enjoyable and you definitely have multiple ways to play them.

Lol. I just got perma-banned from r/games for saying that the Polygon writer "spent more time talking about bullshit like men with vaginas and voice issues than talking about the game".

If anyone is worried about the state of the world, don't be. These impotent people wouldn't have to constantly be abusing their limited internet powers to stamp out "wrong-think" if they held any sway in the real world.

How fragile must these people be?

Yeah I got perma-banned from RPS a year ago when they made their article about how CP2077 was not representing the trans community the right way and the fact the gangs were not sufficiently diverse ethnically when I wrote it may be a good depiction of what a gang really is in real life. No insults, no drama. I just checked, I'm still banned from posting to this day. I don't think their opinion about tolerance and how to live in a better society amounts to much when they already abuse the very little power they have to shush people who disagree with them in any way.

That leaked footage of the highway shootout looked hilarious. Looking forward to playing and experiencing the jank for myself.

Sadly AMD seems to be a few years behind in both DLSS and RTX. Nvidia is the right choice for now imo.
They are closing fast and their price is too good to beat.... I might be biased since I have some stock.

My 5700xt has been amazing and this is the first time I think I’ll miss out on RTX.

I dont see how giving a low score on the first review due to the game being broken/bugs would "reward companies" and be anti-consumers

Like giving it a 5, and then giving it an 8 or whatever after patches.

But in this case is different because there are outlets giving 10-9's to the game, despite being buggy. So, yeah.

Maybe the bugs havent distracted them from the experience so much, I dont know

Shrennin

Didn't get the memo regarding the 14th Amendment
I do think that there's a greater chance for the score to drop than for the score to rise. It may be at 91 now, but in the end it may settle in the high 80s.

At the end of the day, it doesn't matter. I'm still getting this game on day one and I'm still going to really enjoy it.

if i release the best game in the world. and it has bugs. and it scores an 80. and then activision releases the same reskin they do every year and it scores and 85. i would be mad.

two months later most of the bugs of my game are fixed but the score is still 80 you are encouraging developers to make shitty polished games instead of taking risks and having more ambitious but unstable games.

media should reward games for being good instead of bashing games for having problems that you know are going to get fixed. of course if the game is unplayable you can address that but that is why you are seeing outlets giving the game 10s. they are looking past the bugs.

Dantics did a full 100% playthrough and explored everywhere and did all the quests he could, and he did about 120 hours. So I feel many of the people who are saying you can complete everything in 50-60 hours simply missed a lot of stuff from a lack of exploration.

Holy shit the gamespot review, now inside that reviewer's brain :

Reminder, an RPG

  • Barely ever crafted
  • Almost never changed gear
  • Did not do sidequests because one of them had cops and she does not like cops(?)
  • Ignored quests because she had more important things to do
  • Not interested in combat (ok, but might i reminder, you're a fucking reviewer? This ain't your couch session)
  • Used mantis blades once
  • Did not bother with gun attachments.
  • Did not understand what was in inventory, because she did not have time
  • Guns did not feel like Call of Dooty (duh) early on, because oh i don't know, again, RPG? (Deus Ex for fuck's sake?)
  • A depressing game by design (dystopia?), stuck in 80's style (cyberpunk?), she's disapointed (what did she expects?)
You can't make this shit up. My fucking girlfriend who can barely play Mario Kart even with assists because she sucks so much at videogames would have gotten more content out of this game than this Gamespot reviewer.

What a piece of trash review.

I want to become a food critic by just moving my fork through the plate, then give a bad review of the restaurant because i was not in the mood to try it.

I general it seems like a lot of reviewers tried to just rush through the main story without doing everything the game had to offer so they could get it up by the embargo. Its a shame since the main quest is only a part of the game, not the main thing, and you're not getting the full game experience.

Fortunately we have a few of the dedicated RPG influencers who sunk their teeth into the game and played it like 10+ hours a day so they could experience everything they could, and these people are raving about it far more.

That’s the Kallie review, right?

Why do they even let her write reviews?

Hmmm, it's very likely going to slip under the Gold Standard of 90... so much hype looks like it wasn't justified in the end.

I'm blown the fuck away that a game this buggy is sitting at 90. Seems like it could be far better with polish. Wait a few months and play it fresh and it would likely be a mid 90s reviewed game.

Did you watch the video? Are you able to give a brief summary on what his thoughts on the game were?

This is like what WOULD'VE happened if that one journalist that turned down the Death Stranding review did one anyway.

It's things like this where you have to wonder why they do what they do. They don't sound like they enjoy it. 🤔

Wow. Why are they even reviewing it then? What happened to gamespot? At one point that was my go to gaming news website.

I wish this review copy had gone to someone who actually gave a shit about trying with their reviews (aj or acg)

No one has the final day one patch, they have half the patch. Will have to see how much improvement takes place with full patch implemented

Women earned the right to vote and play Cyberpunk a while ago.

In some places they even are allowed to drive now.

Sure. But this game is not going to appeal to most female gamers its going to appeal to mostly bros people with more testosterone.

The ESRB has given Cyberpunk 2077 the Mature rating, for depictions of:

  • Blood and Gore
  • Intense Violence
  • Nudity
  • Strong Language
  • Strong Sexual Content
  • Use of Drugs and Alcohol
