So apparently Cyberpunk 2077 does not have a toggle option for Quality/Performance on the PS5

Oh, the thread about that is going to be an absolute joy.
That thread won't be really relevant. Both are not even being natively played on the new consoles, just backward compat.

Also, I would not expect any comparison videos tomorrow since CD RED did not send out review codes for console versions.

Hypothetical question here:

If either Sony or Microsoft used a Nvidia based chip instead of AMD, what would be the chances of it getting a RTX mode Day 1?

My worry is that the day one patch imposes a 30fps cap like so many other PS5 BC titles we've seen so far.

Please CDPR let me play this at 60 on my PS5.

I've tried both on all games I own. Spiderman, Valhalla(XSX), Demon's, and the fidelity modes are so terrible. I suggest starting in 30fps mode and never trying 60 because that is the only way it's possible. I was not a snob until this gen, lol
to be fair, Valhalla in fidelity mode (on the xsx at least) feels broken IMO

This is GAF. That won’t stop the ‘coaster...

Am I crazy... But, don't the PS5/Series X versions come out next year? Do these people have that version already? :messenger_dizzy: Isn't there only PS4/Xbox One versions a launch? Are we talking about the game in BC mode? I'm really confused here.

It won't run at 4K, I think it's 1260-1440p from most pixel counters on xsx and PS5 footage
according to the other site, it's 4k @ 30 fps for xsx in quality mode

check page 36 of their OT

The Xbox has something called a Gen 9 aware XBO title. What this means is that the XBO's APIs will allow you to tell the game that it's running on a Series S/X. This isn't a version specifically built for next gen hardware, and is still running in backwards compatibility mode, but you can have custom settings for the Series S/X despite it being an XBO game. I don't think the Playstation has anything like this. If you wanted a 60fps mode on PS5, you would need that 60fps mode enabled on PS4 or more likely Pro.

I don't know if they've since resolved it, but this is why Call of Duty: Warzone is 120fps on Xbox, but not on PS5.

that would explain why the xbox has the setting and PS does not

PS4 Gameplay

This is a travesty.

People on base consoles are in for a rocky ride. Look at how that last npc ran by. It looked like the Spider-man easter egg of the ps2 character models in the boats

Like I say, though, the general short term workaround is to add an "unlocked framerate" mode to PS4 Pro (that the Pro would completely fail to come anywhere near) that the PS5 can exploit. But this game is the definition of "coming in hot", so I suppose that's lower on the priority totem pole than trying to ensure they don't ship a non-functional game.

This is really curious because if this is running the PS4 Pro version and it has a dynamic resolution. During an indoor scene, for example V's apartment, it could scale up to 1800p 60fps. If true the PS5 will be able to maintain a higher resolution at 60fps throughout. At Pro settings, that might mean mostly 1440p 60fps or some weird resolution inbetween.

To elaborate on this a little, I think the problem with jerry rigging basically useless performance+quality modes into the PS4 Pro version is that way more people have Pros than PS5s currently, and it creates confusing optics to have different modes that don't work properly on Pro, but are intended for the PS5 instead.

I'm assuming that PS4/XBO/etc are all running with an uncapped framerate instead of a 30fps cap. Is that the case?

I don't think it's required you expose modes targeting PS5 BC to PS4 Pro customers.

The code goes in the PS4 Pro codebase, but the SDK is now capable of letting the game know it's running on a PS5.

GOT, Days Gone and Genshin Impact are 60fps on PS5, 30 on PS4 Pro, not toogle. So, yes, developers know if the game is running on PS5

Like I said, I wasn't sure if Sony had implemented gen 9 aware BC yet. Mainly because there's been at least two games (CoD and Rocket League) where only the Xbox version got 120fps support via BC.

Good point.

Isnt this PS5 version just the PS4 Pro version running with the efficiency gains of the PS5? So why do we keep saying PS5 version. The textures, resolution, and settings are made for the PS5, just the PS4.

Next gen patch is out?
No.... but as promised, CDPR provided performance boosts for the next-gen consoles when playing the game in BC mode. So although this isn’t the official “next gen” version, it has added benefit from the PS4 version when played on PS5. Same with the Xbox One version being played on XsX, the point of discussion here is that the Xbox Series X version seems to have a Fidelity/Performance toggle whereas this OP is about how the PS5 version simply runs in “performance” mode the whole time.

The thread title should be "PS4", there is no PS5 version yet.

The next gen patch isnt out for months, anything could change. This seems silly to me to discuss.

Again, this topic is not talking about next gen upgrade (no patch) for next year. Is talking about the game running on BC, the game have a toogle for performance/quality on XSX (XONE version) that is not present in PS5 (PS4 version). Some people is speculating the game is enhanced for XSX but not for PS5
