This Cyberpunk 2077 vs. GTA 5 comparison video showcases Gameplay, A.I. & Physics differences between the two games & map areas with a few funny bugs/glitches & moments in between.

We will be testing multiple gameplay elements like bullet impact, fire propagation, jumping from vehicles, NPCs behavior, vehicle collision physics etc.

Surprisingly, GTA 5 is better than Cyberpunk 2077 in most comparisons.

The open world in Cyberpunk is a joke in terms of interactivity. It's all for show, don't even bother trying to interact with anything.

Luckily quests make up for it.

But the more I play this game the more baffled I am by the review scores it received.

I've got about 30 hours in Cyberpunk on PC and love it. BUT...

It's nothing innovative or special. The more I play, the more I feel William Gibson's remarks regarding Cyberpunk 2077 a couple of years ago were more accurate than people gave him credit for.

A reskinned GTA 5 with an 80's theme... Not that it's a bad thing. It's just that's what it is for the most part

Game should be more advertised as Deus Ex spiritual succesor, than some open world GTA type of game, it's really not that. It's probably closer to what Mafia: DE is doing then to GTA. Which I welcomed, but there are a lot of elements missing to make the world and whole game better. Why the fuck no music outside of the vehicle? WHY? And that's like only like 10% of my complains about being imerssive, the interaction even with story characters is "woody" at best. Also why even have face, if you don't see it.

Also if you are naked, you wear underwear and shit like that. It's breaking my adventures : D

What exactly is this interactivity you and "critics" talk about? Did you expect the npc's on the street to give you a blowjob? There's so many side quests and gigs that I feel like it just never ends and theres always soem random gang war or some shut stirring up. I don't understand what the fuck are you all smoking? Did you expect the world to change? Did you expect to see the balls of your character shrink?

I honestly think the atmosphere and level of detail besides the bugs and npc spawns which are messed up atm, is the best I've seen. The map feels huge and so far I've only done side quests and what not and every side quest made me visit some interior which is nuts considering how many side quests there are and how many interior palces a la Deus Ex there are. People rushing main quest are missing half of what makes Cyberpunks world amazing but oh no some random npc did not come by itself to talk to me on this huge ass city just like in that empty ass world that is RDR2 where it takes 5 minutes to pick up an object. Damn thats so interactive!

My own hand made experiences on the ps5:

Too much money spent on dude-bro socially degenerate marketing, influencers, and visuals, not enough substance. Underdeveloped NPC system, unfinished cop system, the world is nothing but fluff. I will try refunding again and pick up the game later for next-gen.

let's hope they're able to make a functioning open world on the 2nd try!

GTA V was the only time Rockstar disappointed me. It comes across as one of those mass market type of things designed to appeal to as many people as possible without making any real artistic statement. It is not a bad game by any means but they made it to appeal to people who didn't like GTA IV without any real heart and soul and it shows. Cyberpunk for all it's technical flaws has an artistic heart that beats heavily.

I think the backlash to CP77 is venturing into "cool to hate" territory, I quite like the game personally. But I'd also agree that GTAV is the superior game, no question. I agree with the sentiment someone posted that CP77 is closer to Deus Ex than GTA. In fact there are no rpg elements in GTA, no loot or skills system, etc. They are actually quite different games. Deus Ex or the Ubiworld games are more applicable in a comparison

GTA5 certainly was a technical marvel and I don't remember it running like complete shit on current gen consoles(PS3/360) at the time. But I mean it's just different priorities and resources. I mean it took all of Rockstar to get out GTA5 and then RDR2. Obviously both games are highly detailed to fault with an extreme focus on animation.

While Cyberpunk is by a smaller studio with probably less resources. Also probably not as focused on the minute details that GTAV was. It instead has a greater focus on art direction and world detail then I'd say GTAV has.

I don't know these kind of graphic comparisons really miss the point and nuance of games. Like both games are strong in thier technical side and achieve the goal of realizing the worlds they are trying to recreate.

The main thing is that Cyberpunk 2077 appears to be a pretty standard RPG. Not quite the innovative next generation leap some were expecting. There’s nothing much about it that feels any more innovative than gta 5. Maybe that’s why people are comparing the two. And maybe finding gta the better game.

Agreed. I hated the characters of GTAV with a passion. Just couldn't get invested in the story at all and, as such, it's the only main series GTA game since 3 that I didn't finish. I did spend a ton of time just roaming the city in first-person mode. Incredible achievement of environment and world building.

Why is people so FUCKING obssesed comparing an action-rpg to a full sandbox game.

"Hey dudes, let's compare GTA V rpg elements against Cyberpunk.

What, it doesn't have? what a shitty game, Rockstar, i demand a refund you bastards!"

As you can see, it sounds ridiculous, well, this is what some "Nobel prizes" were doing 3 days in a row.

2 different genres but they the similarities are they are both open world. GTA strengths will always be awesome physics, car and pedestrian AI and minute details. Cyberpunks strength are its rpg elements, characters and story. The world themself though seem pretty close. I’ve played about 30 hours and night city is massive and incredibly realized world and seems bigger than GTAV in surface area. Both are top tier IMO. Rockstar design is emergent gameplay that seems random to make the world feel more fleshed out and works incredibly well in that regard but these events happen to everybody who plays the game long enough to add to the illusion of a “real” world. I’ll say this though, I care a lot more about the characters in cyberpunk than I’ve ever in any GTA game and that is not ever a easy task so I think CDPR delivered on this promise.

Cool. Can we get Rockstar to make a proper Cyberpunk game in the style of GTA/RDR?

Some studio will capitalize on this situation for sure.

The thirst for a meaty open world cyberpunk game is still unfulfilled. Wouldn’t be surprised if a couple contenders come out in 2-3 years time.
