Okay. I just don't get dismissing a game because it features a lot of walking, especially a game that's as much about forming a bond with another character as it is about combat and survival mechanics.

If it sounded dismissive it's because deep down you know it sucks since I presented it very neutrally.

see that's where I'm different, I'm kind of a masochist sometimes by simply being too curious.
I played through Uncharted 4 simply so I can be sure I can confidently say it is a bad game... and it is... it's a disgrace to the art of game design
See this quote above, this is quite literally 100% true. When people tell me that Sony had their best gen with 1st party on PS4, I can’t help but laugh at them! Uncharted 4 was 10 times worse than the previous 3 games on PS3. TLOU2... a travesty compared to the original. God Of War was fine I suppose but wasn’t a touch on the originals on PS2. Spider-Man was fine and the game I think Sony should be most proud of. HZD was one of the most overrated games I played this past generation. I tried so hard to get into it yet I just couldn’t. It was tripe.
Sony were at their best when they took chances. PS4 with their 1st party output was shocking for me. Not every game but by god they have a formula and they stick with it. And it’s just not my style.

All of these 3rd person cinematic games suck. Getting tired of watching someone squeeze through a narrow passage and jump on slightly discolored ledges in service of some very dull and perfunctory platforming. It's all just so tired and boring. TLOU2 was especially bad. Hey revenge is bad! Yeah I get it, that message could have been in a game with better pacing.

Um, no you fucking didn't. WTF dude.

Look at all that varied third person action adventure experiences where you still roam around *BUT ON A VEHICLE OCCASIONALLY*

I'll give you Spider-Man, but that game still fit the mold and was VERY by the numbers. Fun traversal mechanics so yeah, score one for the good guys!

Well I' d rank Last of Us, Uncharted, Spiderman and then God of War last because I've only ever played a bit of the first one. Uncharted and last of us was just a walking simulator to me. Now I have bought Uncharted 4 but I haven't played that one yet and honestly Spiderman did not grab me in the beginning so I put it down a little bit after I left that first building. Last of Us I might have gotten almost halfway through and just quit. All of these game look really pretty but they don't scream you have to fight this boss, explore this unique world, or you get to experience some crazy things( have not played or followed god of war).

Sure.. let's also ignore two InFamous games with this being one of four completely different powers/traversal.

Most of your posts i've read concerning Sony games are really not different than:

Yeah my bad, I like Sucker Punch very much and they're my favorite Sony studio by quite a wide margin. I'm pretty sure Second Son started development before TLOU became huge and set a standard. Anyway, that's hardly relevant since we're being anal about the impressive variety of PS first party exclusives, so score two for Jim Ryan's boys!

I find waiting for good exclusives for a decade or more to be the most boring game to play ( if you willingly decide to play it that is )

Not in the poll but From games. Mainly because they are just jank without much of a story. I mean of course there is a deep lore, if you go to wikifamdom. But I just find it boring, that whole grind which is not about the story but more about some seal of approval that you are now considered a real gamer becasue you beat it. I suck at them rightfully so, but I did try DS3, BB and Nioh. Controls are shit, frame rate drops, animation is janky but if you dont like it then you gotta "git gud". And its fine if people like it, Im just not a fan of those mechanics slowly being pushed into other games that I was otherwise interested untill I found out, OH another souls type gameplay mechanic....great. If you are looking for that difficulty, I dont understand why dont people just play every game on Nightmare difficulty?

anything naughty dog. to be fair the first TLOU was one of my favourite games but their uncharted games and TLOU2 are garbage.

god of war is trash too.

haven't played spiderman so can't talk about that. superheros aren't my thing

the only real good Sony game recently is Horizon Zero Dawn.

not in the poll cause they aren't sony games. only demons souls/bloodborne are exclusive to sony. doesn't affect their gameplay. dark souls is not a sony game. nor is sekiro. and neither will Elden Ring.

not sure why you came into a sony thread and start shitting on from software lol.

Seek professional help, buddy.
why?

because it's a negative thread about Sony? why should anyone need professional help cause they don't give Sony praise?

Played all of these games across generations and in the last gen in PS4 pro I have tried all again and Spider-Man is the only one that made turn it off after 30 minutes, something didn’t click And I have just found the overall game experience boring.

rest of the Sony games on the list are repetitive () but not that boring (I have enjoyed the latest uncharted, but it was more of the same (I have completed all previous uncharted games, gow is the only Sony exclusive that too some risk with a new approach and I really liked it, but after some time (approx 20h) it got very boring as well)

I don't know if they are boring per se, especially on the first playthrough but ND games are particularly bad for replays. They were and have become even more tedious to replay. Which is why I appreciated the encounter replay from UC4 so much (and the addition of skip cutscene in TLOU II). Games with large parts of downtime between encounters are just boring on replays and they stop you getting to where you want to be as the player.

GoW and Spiderman are less guilty of this as they have a lot more action and the combat is more interesting. Out of those games, I will always find TLOU the more tedious to play through again.

I love Sony games except Horizon and Blood borne, both are a chore to play.

You should add them to the list.

I'd say Days Gone is the most boring Sony game in that mold. On the list though, I think Uncharted started to wear on me a bit but primarily because of the sheer number of games. There is nothing boring about GoW, TLOU, or Spider-man though. All those games are fantastic in their own distinct way.

Uncharted 2 was the high point of that series, have lost interest since. Tried to get into 3 and 4 but never made much progress.

Was there day one for Last of Us on PS3. Liked it for the most part, but the gameplay was already getting stale halfway through. Still have never finished it, even bought the PS4 remake. Haven't tried the second game but it looks like more of the same coupled with a worse story.

God of War - had a blast with it, even if the troll boss clones became repetitive.

Spider Man - liked it overall, finished it.

This is goofy.. i have legitimate PlayStation titles that i don't dig, but i have to instead be limited by your little selection of by and large perfectly fun titles. You should have just mentioned every Sony exclusive from the last generation and let us duke it out. Jeesh.

For the record it's final fantasy for me, though it doesn't really count.. with the exception of 12 i hate the style of those games.

The story is a pretty interesting sci-fi story.
MC was better than in many games.

One can see it was GGs first try at RPG'ish open world.
All of the non story side quests are filler trash.

I llike it better than Spiderman and GoT, just because of the setting and monster battles.

Im guessing Sea of Thieves, Halo, Gears, Forza, by the not surprised low bait.

LOL, wth? I have both consoles, and actually lean more toward xbox as far as preference, but it is plain as f#(king day that sony unequivocally wiped the floor with M$ exclusive wise in both quality and quantity. If xbots are really pulling this $#!+ as a means of trying to dismiss sony's far superior games as a way to better justify being xboys that is the most pathetic thing I've ever heard, lol... yeeesh.

OP is not new to these "let's shits on Sony" Threads.. but this one is just something else entirely.

I guess I'm not paying attention to names and allegiences enough to know, that's funny though. Funny, and sad.

Why would I play any of these games if I found them boring?

My answer in this poll would have been "I don't play boring games".

I haven't played the new GOW but I didn't enjoy the other three from a gameplay stance. Spiderman was the best but I stopped after a few hours since open world games are boring. Uncharted has terrible gameplay. TLOU is an average shooter/stealth hybrid.

They're polished quality products that also don't undermine the work with micro monetization. I can give almost all of Sony's games that much.

However, when it comes to Sony's current western studios in general (particularly with the big games), I feel like the games overall usually land in the okay to good range, almost never truly great (only GoW is something I would legitimately recommend to friends out of these four for instance).

I'll pick a studio instead. Recent Naughty Dog games are some of the furthest away from what I consider a great game. I finished their first new PS4 game, but didn't think it was more than okay. Second game I didn't finish. 3rd I tried for a bit and had no interest in buying or borrowing, plus it's hard to take seriously with all the other shit in it.

I enjoyed all those games. What a weird thread.

It's another Xbox fanboy thread. Console war business as usual.

Because when you have zero exclusive to play, the competition must suck in some way too. You must find a way.

It's like they think they can change the praises those games received or diminish their value. Alas, no they can't.

It's a strange illness actually. It would be more productive to either ask for exclusives on your own platform or just buy a PS4 / PS5 like everybody else.

It's short sighted to lump all of them together because they share the same graphical style and have the same "cinematic" style, all of them play differently TLOUP2 doesn't feel or play like UC4 and both are different from Days Gone, DG and UC are both arcady in the shooting department and DG is open world.

GOW2018 doesn't feel or play like any other game from Sony or any other dev, it takes inspiration from From Software games in it's combat system for sure but it’s entierly different, Spiderman takes a lot from the Arkham series but does enough different that I didn't get bored playing it and then replaying Arkham Knight back to back.

It's like saying NSMBU, Yoshi and Donkey Kong TF are the same because all of them are cartoony 2D platfotmers.

One must be open minded, play the games themselves while giving them a serious/honest chance before passing judgment based on the internet hate machine and YouTube identity politics obsessed who make bank on inducing and capitalizing on pre concived notions about certain games.

You know i avoided Mass Effect Andromeda like the plauge for years because of the memes and outrage from the internet and YouTube "personalities", until i saw it on sale on PSN like a year ago and bought it, after playing it for like 5 hours, it's honestly not bad! Granted i was still on the first planet and i haven't interacted with the characters enough, but the writing isn't bad and the combat is honestly the best in the series by a huge margin.

I don't have an Xbox. In fact, I found it to be the worst console out there, simply because buying a PC gives you all it's games plus much more.

You'll see me shit on TLOU2 a lot, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy other exclusives such as Bloodborne or God of War. Hell, one of the most critically acclaimed exclusives is Persona 5 Royal, and you guys seem to forget about it pretty often. :goog_relieved:

Lots of people don't care about brands, but games. So please, stop labelling as fanboys to anyone that doesn't like a few Sony exclusives. :)

WTF games do people play when they say Spider-man or God of War were boring?
Those days I'm playing Dishonored and DUSK. Both pretty cool games, check them out.

Spider-Man. Wow that game was gassed up. I struggled to get through that one. I played MM for like 1 hour and started Nioh 2

God of War is A+

Uncharted and TLOU are around the same (even though TLOU2 was trash)
I'm pretty much on the same level here.

God of war is amazing so is Horizan.

But it's the more cinematic style games I can't get into.

And Spiderman is one of the most overrated games I've ever played.
Almost ripped everything off the Arkham games and added nothing better.
Awful pacing in that game and terrible mission structure.

It looks nice.. and yet it's probably the best Spiderman game ever made but Arkham games it is not.

Some of the usual suspect posters here have a sad post history, that's a fact.

You're not among them, so I don't know why you feel attacked.

Not liking a game and having an agenda are two very different things. ;)

You're very naive if you can't spot the difference.

I'm not sure what all those anti Sony threads achieve by the way.

Games got awards and great ratings, including tlou 2 whether people like it or not, they sold gangbusters too.

At some point it's time to move on, those are old games now. You didn't like it, so what? You're the vocal minority.

Uncharted 4. Twice as long as an average Uncharted. Boring plot I don’t even remember the “Uncharted twist” in this one. I wish I got to play the original version by Hennig. Also the new mechanics doesn’t work in hard. So it’s more a static fight. Pretty boring, as a Gears of War. The other games had a gameplay made the positions not safe for long enough, inviting a more dynamic and movement based action. With U4 you have the grapple mechanic that in hard is basically an invitation to get shot by bots in the air. Pretty sad balancing. Very overlooked in the design.

Nah not attacked mate, but it's kinda weird how some people (not necessarily you) raise the fanboy argument each time they read some criticism on any Sony exclusive.

Like they can't understand how people can have different tastes or something. :messenger_grinning_sweat:

And if someone has an agenda based on shilling any company for free... Please lads, revise your priorities in life because holy fuck, that's sad.

Tough choice between Spiderman and TLoU.

As much as I give it shit I liked the original TLoU. It was a very B-quality movie but it was well done. TLoU2, I think everyone has vocalized most of the issues ad nauseum. The spiderman games are fucking stupid. Come to think of it all comic book games are just dumb, the exception being maybe one of the Arkham games, and definitely Batman Returns on SNES.

Everything post TLOU. Third person action adventure, open-ish world, main mechanic is walking around, but wait you also get to bond with a stepchild or come to grips with adversity by doing menial tasks, sarcastic quips, shallow gameplay at the expense of really good production values. Oh and box and ladder puzzles.

Man, you guys can make sex sound boring as well:lollipop_tears_of_joy:. If anything Sony's formula is about full immersion with minimal HUD, extremely high quality production and storytelling, extremely solid build with very low glitches or none at all, and wonderful lore.

They are few levels above the industry, they are the fucking GOAT.🐐

Ah ah sweet summer child. You must be new here. Half of the posts are about shilling and console wars here.

Or you think people like Riky or Bernd are giving you sincere opinions about games they played? With their post history... I have a bridge to sell you then...

That's why those posts must be called out, they're pathetic attempts at console warring.

On a more general way, those threads have zero point outside console wars. You don't like x old game who was successful and highly rated... Ok, so what? Who cares?

Like the dude said, that's like... Your opinion.

For me it's TLOU. I enjoyed the first game at the time for it's grittiness, but it was a fucking slog that got boring for me and felt like a slower version of Uncharted, which I preferred. I also don't like the zombie apocalypse genre in general, for some reason I can just never invest in it. As a result I never played the second one, and it had nothing to do with what a lot of forums said about it. I've also never played Spiderman because I just don't dig comic book stuff at all. Other than that I enjoy most of the other main Sony franchises.

My only gripe about God of War 4 was, coming from God of War 3, I didn't like how the violence felt really toned down. It was a fun game, but I loved the brutal, gory and red bloody kills of 3 that are mostly absent in 4. Other than that fun game.

Man, some of you really hate TLOU 2. Even to the point where you ignore all the other interesting titles developed (even in part) by Sony 1st party studios.

The only other title that comes close to that description is the GOW reboot. So now makes two titles.
So two titles is enough to generalize an entire catalogue of titles in that way under "nu-Sony"?
