I just reached act 2 and now have been doing random gigs and side jobs. Any advice on the pace I should proceed? I mean when should I advance in the main quest line to proceed the game "as intended" as in not to be completely OP later in the game? Any tule of thumb or tips on this?

Pace it how you want. If you want to be OP for main quests, then do a bunch of side shit beforehand. If not, then don’t 🤷🏻‍♂️

doesnt seem out of the realm of possibility. Either way, ive put my series x play through on hold until alot of these issues are cleaned up and the next gen versions are officially out. Didn't request a refund though.

Miles wrote a quest?
Miles Tost, the level designer? (source)
CDPR is so exploitative that level designers double as quest designers.

Two patches have been promised, one for January, another for February, if I remember correctly. It should be really easy to run a preliminary test on the veracity of this leak.

Apparently, it's not just upper management. Middle management is also at fault. Oh, the proportion of the exploiters and the exploited seems to be constantly shifting.

Ah, the evil upper management screwed-up the AI routine/pathfinding script for cop behaviour. Oh, wait. Upper management doesn't code.

Ah, apparently developers can't just say Fuck you to the face of the people who hire them. Isn't this proof the world is an evil place?

I think it’s CDPR management guy planting these things. Guy talks about Cop AI but not Traffic AI, or AI in general...

It sounds like a good list of the things we want to see in the game. Fanboy fantasy in other words. I want to say bs... But also the enhanced edition of this kind would be great. It would be also a shame it happens this way.

Need to bookmark this post to check in 6 months.

There a couple of things in this leak that make me believe it's either genuine or based on genuine sources. It is known that a couple of CDPR devs are Troika alumni, and I found it pretty conspicuous that Bloodlines - not a marquee game by any means - is mentioned. That, and the fact that namedrop some CDPR devs that don't have much of a public profile (Miles Tost, as B B-universe noted) leads me to think it's likely real or close to real. One of the early post-release leakers was later interviewed by the Washington Post, I think, so we know there are CDPR devs leaking stuff on Reddit.

That said, Adam Badowski is conspicuously absent from this narrative, which is suspicious.

I don't think this is suspicious.... No need to call names I think. If it was a genuine leak, I don't think any management member would be mentioned directly.

Anyway, I keep my fingers crossed for them.

Although saying now the ps4 code is being rewritten... They developed for ps4 from the beginning.

Previous leaks had a quite a bit to say about Adam's e-mails to the team, etc. He's the studio head, gotta be involved in pretty much every game-related decision.

Although saying now the ps4 code is being rewritten... They developed for ps4 from the beginning.

Like The Witcher 3, the game's target platform was the PC, as with every other CDPR game they ever released. W2 for the X360 was a PC port, Thronebreaker and Witcher Adventure game were PC ports, etc.

This game is soooo great. It’s a game that will ruin other games for me, both a good thing and a bad thing.

I look forward to the PS5 upgrade version, I’ll gladly replay it with any improvements and additions they may add, even if they don’t add any and they just improve the performance. I will replay it.

It is true but it also ruins itself for me, because the contrast between good and bad is huge:)

I am sorry but If true, this leak pokes holes in the Evil-greedy-top-management story du jour.

Miles Something is said to have written a quest, but the only known CDPR developer with that name is a level designer, not a quest designer. The leaker could have misspoke, or another quest designer named Miles whose profile is not public exits. But it doesn't inspire confidence.

Upper management are evil but are offering their backs to shield developers. Upper management is terrible but "There's people that get hired for whatever reason and stay in the company due to being "trusted by the top dogs". So middle management is to blame as well? Someone broke the AI, that was working great? A developer, no doubt? So developers are to blame as well?

And then there's the too cool for school attitude. No, Mr. developer, CD Projekt RED is not yours for you to manage. You work there. You don't own the company. If you don't want upper management breathing down your neck, easy. Start your own company, with your own money. You will have all the time in the world to develop the ideas you want to develop.

But if you want to create at no risk to yourself, using somebody else's money, risking their money but not yours, then tough luck. Get used to them breathing down your neck.

I also want to note a lot of people seem to be ok with longer development cycles - and why wouldn't they? It doesn't cost them anything; they have no skin in the game. Are these people ok with a heftier price tag as well? A AAA title costing 80 or 90 bucks?

That's what I thought.

Sounds like bullshit to me. Especially the part about the underground section and the reasoning behind ultimately scrapping it.

Wanted to check Reddit and see if people were discussing good builds for V but holy crap, it's just whining and glitch videos. Man is Reddit the worst.
lol true I'm over here enjoying the game on PC but whenever I check the Cyberpunk forum on Steam its an absolute shitshow of negativity.

You on a base PS4?
Nope, PRO. I have both and played it only on OG to see how bad it was for an hour. 30 hours on PRO, almost a great game, albeit clearly marketed as something it wasn't and clearly unfinished game underneath a hell of a lot of bad optimization and big old lies.

I decided to shell out for the GeForce Now Founders 6-month sub. It runs about like a 2060 6GB in my general estimate. You can get a nice mix with RT at 1080p DLSS(Balance or Perf) and stay around or above 60fps most of the time, except those pesky downtown areas at night with the large crowds, traffic, and tons of reflections. That's 30-40fps. It's game streaming, so using the 1080p/60fps/50Mbps settings in GeForce Now along with the aforementioned settings in-game results in a more than playable, downright good-looking experience.

I had absolutely zero wait time to get into the game last night here in US NW region. Auto-assign selected US West 2 server for me. I have 60 games that synced from Steam, then I manually added about 8 games from all the free EGS titles, then nice chunk of games from Ubi+ membership. Pretty fucking cool for ~$4/month for the GeForce Now service.

Try playing Deadly Premonition 2, a third party Switch exclusive, then come back here with your impressions. Or Ark. Or Ghostrunner. Or anything running on Unity engine.

They run just as bad as Cyberpunk does on a PS4, if not worse.

So blame Nintendo, then proceed to play games only on your cellphone.

Do you think that Nintendo checks the quality of every game in their store? lol
Nintendo' "seal of quality" is not a thing since the 90's

There are a lot of shit being release for the Switch in poor condition, and improved latter with patches. Just as much as its released for Xbox/PS4. Maybe more.

Complete nonsense blamming Sony or Microsoft for this

Buying a Switch in order to play better performing/running games is lol worthy.
You're in for a rude awakening.
Well at least they haven't sunken to all the other shit. From where I'm sitting Nintendo is holding out from falling to the a good chuck of the disasters I mentioned. But perhaps, You're right and all of gaming is fucked.

This thread gonna fall off the front page? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

Was exploring the mansion area on the winding road. Anything cool to find there? Checked 2 houses but didn't get anything cool. I think one of them you do a mission there at some point.

Bought my 1300 Damage Katana and my armor is over 1K. I should be an unstoppable force now right?

You do you and all. And I'll never, ever begrudge or belittle someone's purchase decisions.

But, this is what broke you? Not Sony's years of anti-consumer practices, not that you can't even refund a digital purchase from Sony, not having to pay to play online, not their awful download network, not raising prices for PS5 games during a global pandemic, not extremely subpar product quality for expensive controllers and headsets? This goes for MS and Nintendo as well, not for using slave labor to build their consoles? I guess...
I suppose the straw that broke the camels back. Yeah, I did ignore a lot of it and side step the shit on the ground but this was one massive pile of shit and it wasn't in the way, it was thrown right into my face with no warning. Couldn't give a shit about slave labor, if I had to worry about that, I wouldn't be able to consume basic things to live like coal to keep warm for the winter, the shoes on my feet or even the socks, food or the plastic that holds my bottled water when the tap water goes bad. Shits in everything, least of all gaming.

As far as the last mission goes, yeah, you are good. Even with 1K armor though there are some missions where you can get zeroed in a couple shots. Kirk's mission, for example, and a couple of the cyberpsychos I found. Some I could only get through by hiding on a roof and cheesing long range hacks or the sniper rifle.

I've got over 4K armor and I still can get wasted in a couple of shots depending on the enemy. I'm not sure armor actually does a whole lot, but I haven't tried to really analyze it.

Story missions are for cucks. I am straight giging it for now and then taking out all the blue skulls and wands.

Just want to go into the city center and take revenge on all those High and Very high side missions that were fucking me up early on. Now I got POWAR so they can't mess with me.

:D Still loving this games three weeks later? and I know you played on a PRO like me HotPocket, man. You really still think it's great and the bugs and performance is worth all the hassle? If so, I'm happy for ya and sorry I couldn't get as lucky as you.

Yeah I’m still loving it. Still GOTY and one of my top favs in a long time despite the blemishes. I’ve slowed down though because I’m hoping the January (and even the February) patch will fix my bugged quests in City Center. I really want the Platinum.

Still better than when I played Skyrim on PS3 at launch and having to delete and reinstall the game every few hours to get it running somewhat smoothly. THAT shit fucking sucked.

I missed Skyrim on PS3, got it on 360 thank God and had no issues. The games that have gone bad before still don't excuse this, you really had so few problems that it kept it's pace? May I ask, did you go for a straight story run or do any of the open world stuff at all? I can see people who mainline the story with no deviation getting something reasonable, it's the damn open world and everything to the side (aside from those main aide quests) that got me. Traversal got so bad at one point that every auto save in the list was me falling through the world and I had to reload a manual and man, I really gave this game the benefit cause I can see the glimmers of what's great under all the mess.

David Hayter/Solid Snake or Foltest on crack for Johnny sounds absolutely awful. "It's like Nicholas Cage in Bad Lieutenant 2 but on bath salts" Plus, we wouldn't have gotten those awesome ARCH bikes in game.

Wonder why that Reddit "leak" got deleted though...lol. Reminds me of that other leak that was all info that could have been taken straight from NoClip's CDPR documentary.

Peoples tolerance for bugs and shit varies and sense of pacing is different for everyone. I haven’t finished yet (in the middle of Act 2). I’ve been playing it like I do all of these checkbox open world RPGs: I knock out all the side shit I can in the area where the story is taking place, then move the story until it moves to a new area, then knock out everything there etc. The only fuck up I made (which probably caused my bugs) was because I went out of my way and knocked out City Center super early because it was the smallest district.

Sorry bout your experience dude. Hopefully the upcoming patches remedy most of your issues.

Nah, man, nothing you did caused your bugs, they are at most random with a few most get like getting stuck in Panam, the police spawning inside you or in walls and what not but what I'm wondering on your end, aside from the bugs did you get the subpar experience like the textures on cars loading in way to late or the calls overlapping and "small" stuff like that cause after I gave up I found out that it's not only console players but also people on PC to and across the board even if you have the most decked out PC. I was blown away when I seen the same things happen to Angry Joe that happened to me and sometimes even worse on his end and earlier in the game.

And, def man. If the leaked dev can be believed they'll have a finished game in June. At least that's something to look forward to and fingers crossed they can manage it.

40 armor stops ~1 projectile damage. Regardless of how high your armor is, you will still be vulnerable to melee, explosion and other kind of damage. I'm close to 6000 armor at the moment and yeah, it really is overpowered.

Check out Arasaka estate, there's some good loot in there including few legendary items.

A ton of ‘side missions’ still involve the main characters. I would highly recommend doing those as they are some of the best content in the game.

as for the open world quest stuff (clearing goons, etc) then just do it if you enjoy it. I have had some great experiences doing the thievery/assassination gig stuff.

No, the rest of the game you are a merc.

Life paths are just background regardless, Street Kid is no more true than the others.
That's true but clearly the jump from a Streetkid or Nomad to a mercenary for hire is more relatable than Corpo -> mercenary. I will start another playthrough as a Corpo with an open mind. Who knows, maybe this time I will like it.

My biggest most noticeable issues were crashes (I would have one once a session. This lasted for the first week or so) and my settings would reset at random (this got fixed with the last patch). Haven’t had any crashes in weeks, but I’ve also been playing less. Aside from those, I’ve never fallen through the floor. I have had a call overlap dialogue a couple times but it didn’t really bother me. There’s been texture pop in a bunch.

Those are off the top of my head, but they never once turned me off from playing. Call it a mix of playing games for 30+ years so I have a tolerance for bullshit and the fact I’ve been wanting a Blade Runner type game since I was 11.

Same, the blade runner vibe is what sold me on this too and personally think 2049 is better than the original and it fucking nailed being in the middle of things here.

Looks like you got lucky on the games performance and bugs though, those are the most apparent ones indeed.

Fingers crossed for a finished game in summer 2021. :D

Level and Quest Designers tend to work closely together in most open world titles - Jeff Browne, chief Level Designer at Bethesda when they were developing Skyrim, for example, did a lot of work with Brian Chapin and the other Quest Designers. I have no particular insight on how CDPR works but I think that a level designer suggesting/helping out with a particular side-quest is well within the realm of possibility.
