Cyberpunk 2077 on PC. Safe to get now?

Current state of the game on PC, is it safe to get and play now, or are we still in a wait and hold pattern till the 1st big January patch?

How badly do you want to play it now? I imagine the game will be significantly better later this year when they re-release the game as Cyberpunk Complete Edition to coincide with the PS5 and Series S/X versions.

I don't see this as a game I'd want to do multiple playthroughs for, so I am going to wait.

Hows the stability of the pc version with the latest patch and all the other assorted problems? Are the problems universal across all the platforms or has the pc version suffered less?

PC version still has plenty of bugs but it's "stable" in that it doesn't completely shit the bed and crash.

I'm 100 hours in and can't stop playing it. I see glitches, sometimes my footstep sounds vanish.., but it doesn't stop me from having fun.

I'm on a GTX1080 btw. I spent a few minutes on tweak guides, mods (the map mod is a must!) and Reshade, all very easy stuff, and it looks and runs like a dream in native 1440p now. No need for a RTX card to enjoy this game.

I assume OP asks how is the game bug-wise after 6 hot fixes.

Unless we were told lies that the game is too buggy.

Absolutely. I've had less issues with it than the other open world games that released this year, which even months later are still less fixed than CP 2077 was at launch. Legion, Valhalla, etc. Fucking even Sony couldn't release HZD in a decent manner and took them near a fucking half year of patches to get it semi-decent, and that's with it basically pushing little extra over the console version (the mind boggles..).

have you even played it or just shilling videos from the internet? the game world is on par if not better than any of the other open world rpgs in its genre.
I finished the game. I played on 3700x and 3080. The game looks gorgeous at times but the city is dead, there is no interaction, no fun, no choices, everything is fake or meaningless.
Some quests had fun story but only that.
The game made me realize that Days gone have much better open world than this. Even fallout 4 world is better.
The game is fine but it's a bad rpg, bad shooter and bad open world. It just looks good and some story bits are cool.
There is no open world gameplay, there is no ai, no police, no dynamic encounters. Just go to quest 1 then got o quest 2, fake choices along the way... stats are broken...
AND THEN all the bugs on top of that which are way worse than any fallout. Fallout 4 might have shit story but open world was super fun to play

Edit: Before You comment on my playtime. I finished a lot of side quests too. If the game is shit by hour 54... it's not gonna get better.

It's designed precisely for that....

The game has been amazing on PC since launch. The few patches released since then only made it better. Go for it.

currently 73 hours in, most ive enjoyed an open world rpg for many years, i dont pay any attention to hype as im not 8 years old.

That's probably where you're wrong unfortunately.

The worst thing about of the game isn't the bugs or the performance. We should be talking about how average the game is and how bogus the early reviews were instead of all the other noise surrounding the game. CDPR have been let off the hook in that sense.

Pretty much everything outside of the main quests are terrible. But even then the whole game is on rails when it's supposed to be an "rpg".

We have similar specs. Gtx 1080. 1440p monitor. What kind of settings you using?

Ive been enjoying it greatly, granted i have a beast of a machine with a 3090 and 5950 in it, but the game it self is very very fun and GORGIOUS. I have encountered bugs, more so than most releases. I'd compare it to something like Skyrim on launch. Its safe to play, but you will run into some jank. it'll be better in like 6 months.

Depends on the amount of bugs you're comfortable with. Is it SAFE? Sure. Will you notice bugs? Definitely. If you're cool with that, great. It's a single player game, so if you'd rather have a smoother experience wait until after the February patch or even into spring when the team has had some real time to work on not just the game breaking stuff, but the visual problems as well.

I used the Digital Foundry settings guide video (before that, I was using dynamic resolution, which helps a lot with the gameplay), plus I overclocked the GPU up to a stable ~1970 MHz. And a 8700K CPU running at ~4.3 GHz (according to task manager). I'm running a few "Nexus mods", plus "Reshade", which will eat a few cycles, so I'd of course recommend to avoid that if the fps is not up to par.

Also, you can search for .ini tweaks if tweaking in-game doesn't help. There's some things you can do there, f.ex. turning off Async compute.

SSR, which takes quite a few fps is broken in this game (makes the game look grainy), but I still have it on "low" because the game looks way too flat without.

Edit: I forgot that I have the advantage of running GSync VRR, which of course helps making things looking smoother..

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
They already stated that there's going to be both free and paid dlc, right? I'll wait for the definitive version.

Although I'll be trying it on my new pc for sure, wanna see how it runs and looks.

Eh. Depends on your rig.

I played it on 1660ti and it played pretty well if you're able to make compromises and not be bothered by your frames wildly going from 50 frames down to 30 frames, and at worse, 20 frames.

I think it's the one of the best (and yet painfully terrible at times) game I've played after 120 hours of playtime.

The game basically dies and crumbles after you finish all story missions and side missions - which is where my biggest complaint lies in.

I agree with GHG GHG to an extent on his opinions on the game when it comes to the open world part aspect.

But to me, I loved the story, gameplay was fun once you level up, music was banging, driving was better than most initial attempts of driving in an open world game, and I loved my experience with the game when the story missions and side missions were still on going.

Everything I experienced after completing everything reminded me how much this game lives and dies on the story, but is absolute trash with almost every other aspect of the game.

I still have some massive bugs with the cenario not loading properly on the parade quest. But other than that, fine.

I am on my second run and I am seeing stuff I did not see on the first. Will probably see new stuff on the third also.

It’s fine for me. The stats says I’ve played 250 hours (I haven’t, I’ve just left it running a fair bit) and it hasn’t crashed *once*. Is *unusually* stable.

It’s got some bugs. Main problem is the AI just isn’t very aggressive (or mobile) and that isn’t really a *bug* I guess.

It's all random. can have 10 bugs or 10k bugs.
The game is kinda bad anyway...

Oh god, this terrible video will be posted in every CP thread now, won't it?

Can we post videos of people who actually know what they are talking about and didnt read their opinions on reddit instead?

This is 100% not true, best content this game has to offer is in side quests.

There is a huge flaw though, most of the really good quests can be unlocked only pretty late in the game.

The game is perfectly playable and runs well on a decent range of PC’s. You will encounter bugs. I have had to revert a few minute saves a few times. If you are the type of person where bugs ruin the game for you I would wait another year (yes really). For me it was still my GOTY with bugs.

Also- even though they have talked about Jan/feb large patches... there is no guarantee that these will have major improvements. I expect stuff like mission fixes to continue to pour in like with the hot fixes.

For reference my PC has 32gb ram, 2070s, ryzen 3700x. So not bad but not top of the line either.

Game design issues aside, Id' say it runs pretty well. I run settings on high or ultra with RTX on. Caveat is that my monitor is old so I'm running at 1080p not 4k. With that in mind framerates are absolutely playable with mild, transient slowdown in at least one scenario (walking into a highly populated bar) that actually did not repeat itself.

Bugs- I've had one gamebreaking bug that went away after a patch, but annoying things persist: cars falling for no reason, clipping, and most annoyingly persistent UI elements. For example, whenever you receive a call a small screen with a video of your caller pops up on the left hand side of the screen. Sometimes that screen won't disappear after the call ends. Sometimes snippets of music wont' stop playing after a cutscene. Sometimes my radar will continue to display an alert even after the mission is done. These bugs aren't gamebreaking but they stick around and can be insidious since you dont' realize something is off until after the fact. By then there is usually no way to get rid of the UI element besides loading an earlier save and then going through whatever sequence again. Really annoying and it's kind of put me off. In fact I'm now in a spot where I have to replay 20-30 minutes to get rid of an issue with the radar and I just don't feel like it so the game might get put aside for a while.

Here is another video. I do agree with this one too.
None of claims in both of these videos are false. They both just kinda state facts.
Sure they focus more on bad than good but that's a critique

Wow this couldn’t be more wrong. There are seriously dozens of hours of great side quests that have been the best part of the game for me.

And ‘On rails’ what in gods name are you talking about? Just because the story is more linear and how your choices weave in are more nuanced doesn’t make it on rails. That certainly doesn’t make it a bad game.

There's nothing nuanced about anything as far as the main quest goes.

98% of your choices have no influence on how things play out:

All the side quests I've come across are basically the cyberphysco stuff (don't kill them but you can't really kill them anyway), and then what essentially amount to a bunch of fetch or rescue quests.

The side content in the Witcher 3 was better thought out and was of a much higher standard, and that's coming from the same studio.

Then there's the fact that there's a bunch of meaningless crappy copy paste side content that's been vomited all over the world map and you can't even filter the icons on the map.

It's a joke but people see what they want to see because hey, can't let those 7+ years of maximum hype go down the drain.

You haven’t done any of the Judy, Panam, Rogue, Claire, Delemain, Peralez side quests? Even the missions you come across such as thievery are good (if you enjoy the gameplay. The ‘meaningless’ quests are easy to filter out- just ignore the blue weapon/Star icons, or the icon will actually says it’s filler.

And again, choices simply effecting dialog are fine. This makes the character interactions feel natural.

I love TLOU2 and I think it is a better game than Cyberpunk but I don't agree with that video. Cyberpunk never claimed to be a rightwing game. The outrage mob mob and the woke brigade just saw something that offended them and they latched on to that. The game itself is not rightwing in any way.

Depends on your PC.

If you have a high end PC with an RTX Nvidia graphics card then go for it.

Anything else then your milage may vary.

DLSS carries this game.

Eh, before I upgraded I was playing at mostly High settings at 1440p on a i7 6700k and GTX 1080 (2016 mid-to-high range machine) and it still looked pretty damn great and ran well.
