What console is you favourite?

Playstation Portable is my favourite: great catalog, cool exclusives, amazing design, light-years away of any other portable hardware back in 2004, superb scene, etc. It was basically the handheld I dreamed of when I was a child.

KFC tho..

1. Gameboy (OG, Color and Advanced): I put so many hours into handhelds as a kid, the gbc was my first personal console.

2. Xbox 360: halo and gears at their peak, a stellar lineup of third party support and an unbeatable online experience (party chat especially) this console defined my late-teen to early adult years.

3. Nintendo 64: to this day it still has a large list of my all-time favorite games. Ocarina of time, majoras mask, star fox 64, Mario kart 64, banjo kazooie, Mario 64, Mario party 1-3, 007.

4. Nintendo DS: not my favorite handheld but this one still stood the test of time with an amazing library and some of the best in Nintendo’s largest series like Pokémon

5. PS4: this console (and subsequently the ps5) was a better successor to the Xbox 360 than the Xbox one could ever be.

honorable mentions: PS2, Nintendo switch, snes, psp, gamecube, OG xbox.

I bought a sex doll, but I keep it inflated 100% of the time and use it like a regular wife
Gamecube! Come on, just look at it.

It also has some great games like Metroid Prime and Tales of Symphonia (among others of course) and for me personally
it's great because I played it A LOT with friends, nights and nights of Mario Kart, Smash Bros and Mario Strikers.

Second one would be the SNES (nostalgia and an epic library) and the third the NDS (tons and tons of cool games).

Yep, Gamecube looked always delicious to me, too. Also i love the GC Controller, one of most fun and best controllers out there.

The Switch. As someone who has a gaming PC, most consoles come off as gimped PCs to me. They do many of the same things a gaming PC can do, but they're missing so much quality features.

The Switch on the other hand is the only one that stands out for me. It's portability, built in co-op functionality with the joycons, and best of all that I can use it while on my treadmill.

Nostalgia factor: NES

My current favorite console: PS4 (it even beats the PS1 for me, as my favorite Playstation)

A better platform: PC (of course)

Usually say SNES, but feel a lot of that is nostalgia as most of the games I go back to play haven't aged all that well for me (some exceptions like Super Metroid, Super Mario World), Link to the Past.

Going with more recent consoles, probably PS4. Ton of my all time favorite games on that platform. 360 is right up there as well. The past couple generations have been fantastic for me. Hoping for another great one this generation and really liking the PS5 and XSX so far (Switch too if that counts as this gen).

Gentlemen, we can rebuild it. We have the capability to make the world's first enhanced store. Steam will be that store. Better than it was before.
For me it's gotta be the Switch Switch

Lots of great games, lots of re-releases from older consoles, lots of games in general. An absolute RPG powerhouse. It's portable and I take mine with me practically everywhere I go.

New games:
Stuff like Xenoblade Chronicles 2 and Octopath Traveler are damn near perfect in my opinion. Having access to games like Skyrim, Dragon Quest XI, and Diablo III on the go is huge for me. Just tons and tons of stuff I'm really into like Ys VIII, Ni No Kuni, and Tales of Vesperia. Not to mention the first party giants like Breath of the Wild, Pokemon, and Animal Crossing.

Retro games:
It can play most of my favorite SNES games like Super Mario World, A Link to the Past, Super Metroid, Star Fox, Breath of Fire, etc. The NES game selection isn't as great but it's serviceable. (My Switch is actually hacked and can load games with Retroarch for stuff that isn't actually officially supported, which technically adds everything up through PS1 games!)

I've literally spent thousands of hours with mine and I can say definitively that it's the greatest gaming thing I've ever owned, ever.

N64 - So many memories from the late 90s of Goldeneye, Mario Party, Snowboard Kids, WCW vs NWO, etc with my buddies.
GB/C - Same as above with basically every kid I knew hanging out daily playing Pokemon, Zelda, and every niche game between.

SNES for sure. Loved the 3do (ssf2t the Horde, and star control 2) and sega cd (Dune and sylpheed) though.

Really liked the PS3 and the ps5 with the large number of 60fps games is really making a case too.

I'm probably in the minority too but I really like the series s as well.

Weird thread because favorite could mean anything from providing the best gaming experience, to liking some technical feature. NES was my 10-15 yrs old system. It was amazing. SNES was still relevant in college and also amazing. PS1 was great in college too. Switch is like the dream system my NES owning self would lose his shit over and the PS5 is tight. Heck OG Xbox was amazing once hacked and loaded with XBMC and roms until I realized the fucking PC was the best thing to hook up to a TV because it can do everything.

So if console just means box hooked up to a TV, then PC is my favorite. If it has to be closed hardware then maybe PS5 because it feels good enough and makes me almost think PC gaming is a waste of money. But I just cracked and got one so that could be me rationalizing blowing 600+ bucks to play a couple of Sony games instead of playing something on my 3090. Whatever. I am much more impressed by the PS5 than I was the PS4. When the PS4 launched it was obviously worse in performance than my PC at the time. The PS5 is worse than my PC, but it's good enough to make me half regret my drunk decision to sell my 3080 and upgrade to a 3090. I am sure the XSX is equally as good. These machines are quick and have useful features, especially if all you are going to do is game on it. OK the copying games from disk thing is bullshit.

Sony, I want your App to let me download any game to my PS5 remotely and then activate the license when I insert the disk. If I plan to buy a physical game, I should be able to preload from the app rather than have to wait 30 minutes or more for it to copy from the disk. Make it happen.
