Is this related to the 4chan leak earlier last month? -No, not at all. That file is a dead weight that cannot be cracked. We've known of people with these builds for years before now from partnernet/pnet. It was just a matter of time.

How did you get hold of this? -I can't say. Patience is key.

Is this releasing soon/someday? -The release of this is not on me, I'm just able to record footage. I cannot publish this. I've been told it'll be released eventually.

Does this mean it's being hoarded? -No. Patience is key. I've been told it'll be released eventually. I can't and won't take the risk of doing so.

Can I use this video footage for my news site/video review? -Yes, but please credit me for the footage and do not modify the watermark. Do not straight up re-upload my video, either.

How do you feel about Nintendo canceling this remake? -Nintendo did not cancel this, they're not the owners of the license. If you want GE back, ask the IP holders, not gaming companies.

Was never a fan but might give it a whirl again. This is being released for PC, right? Or is it some kind of homebrew thingie for a dodgy 360?

Blood Stone is best bond game.
Really? Can you elaborate? 50 Cent: Blood on the Sand was a good game. I don’t recall there being a better Bond game other than Goldeneye. :)
Yeah. The game was good when it came out. It’s not going to play good at all. Just keep your memories of the game and let it die.
With an N64 controller in hand. It still holds up in its overall design. The same can be said for 007. The levels and the way they all come together. It is becoming a classic game lost in time. There’s those games that had Goldeneye in their title, but they changed it. It wasn’t the same. It’s just like how DOOM is immortalized. Good games, even when they’re old.

Darkness no more
I don’t think I would have fun playing this today. Most of the fun was being a kid and the 4 player local death match where everyone was looking at each other’s screen but pretending they weren’t.

Wasn’t the Wii one a remake?
It was more of a reimagining.

Checking the video, Surface now looks like shit. It was the one snow level that actually looked correct with the fog just like snowy days do in the night/evening. Now its all clear it looks like a regular winter sports level.
Yeah, this is more reminiscent of the snow level at the beginning of Timesplitters 2 than the original Surface.

Hard pass, but I also usually hate HD texture mod stuff.

You need that low res look and N64 fog for this all to work.

So cool to finally see. I think what they did was a pretty cool way to make it look more modern (at the time) while still looking like the original

How can anyone call Goldeneye mediocre? So much variation, so much content and so much replayability.

On the other hand this version looks pretty terrible, but whatever.
I never understood that mentality. The game was CRAMMED full of content, especially at the time. It may not have aged well for everyone, but at the time it was the SHIT.

Oh, come on. In 1997 it was an incredible game.
No kidding. Nintendo 64 was full of some awesome 4-player games, especially FPS ones. Goldeneye was the tip top of it. I don't think it got enough credit for the amount of content it had at the time, it was wild.

The multiplayer still slaps
Man, I know a ton of people would still be down to play it. I played the Goldeneye Source mod for the longest time. It wasn't the same, sure, but it had its moments.

I was just thinking the other day it would be amazing to see this leak someday while it hasn't leaked yet its incredible to see this footage. Goddammit they just don't make games like this anymore.

Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
That doesn't look great, one might as well just emulate and enhance it on PC for authentic looks but modern accessibility. Though, I think you can toggle the original graphics in the remake? I wonder if that brings the fog back as it should. The new assets are obviously more conplex but not exactly pretty and they don't fit in with the blocky boxy look of levels and assets that weren't so thoroughly remade. Shame they didn't deal with Nintendo instead, these games would be perfect for the OoT3D/MM3D treatment of near 1:1 faithfulness but much improved framerate & almost all visuals + controls. It'd be the version to emulate for sure had it happened...

looking at that perfect dark video. The dud seems to think widescreen was a mod feature. Both golden eye and perfect dark support anamorphic widescreen.

Man perfect dark would have been awesome if it wasnt for the gay aliens.

We have started to get modern Doom and Quake style games so eventually we might get a Goldeneye style game at some point. The new Perfect Dark might be a good contender. It is time someone tried something new in the FPS space

Perfect dark ip isnt great. The female protaganist and Xfile alien stuff is pretty crappy and tired.. Its head shot one hit kill human enemies that make goldeneye.
