I also want a new Ridge Racer, but go and buy Pacer. It's an awesome multiplatform Wipeout made by former Wipeout devs.
And buy Wipeout Omega Collection again.

I think GRIP is worth mentioning too

Some others that aren't exactly racing games, more like adventure games revolving around cars are:

Mad Max

My summer car

I'm so torn about GRIP, looks very interesting but also so... I don't know... unprofessional. Non it a derogatory sense, but that's the impression.

I want something like the Burnout series before they went open world. The more silly and unrealistic the better.

My fave arcade racing game of the last couple gens was Sonic and Sega All-stars Racing, but then again, I was a Sega kid.

Forza Horizon to me, is nowhere near arcadey enough, it's more of a sim/arcade racer hybrid, quality for sure, but not silly enough for me.

I really can't wait for this genre to come back into fashion, I really can't.

I should add I want them to have a lot of content and depth as well. I'm not looking for a shallow Daytona or RR clone, with a bunch of tracks and a few modes, it needs depth and variety.

A modern day successor to Diddy Kong Racing would hit the spot, as long as it has drifting though!

I see a lot of people mentionning forza horizon, and while I do like Horizon too, it's really different from what OP is looking for.
Horizon is about chill open world fun and exploration, it's fun, but it's not the same as very tight, fast paced, skilled based arcade racers where you quickly start races directly through a menu etc, it's not the same feeling nor the same atmosphere.

Also it's not just racers, it's arcade / arcade sports in general that really quite dissapeared, it's the same for snowboarding and skateboarding (Yes, I know there is THPS 1+2, but that's juste one remake so far, nothing really new), and as a SSX fan, it makes me really sad.

I really want more quick games based on scoring and all like in the past, with great sensations and adrenaline.

I get where you are coming from, but for me Forza Horizon does a pretty good job of scratching the casual racing itch whenever I get it. both FH3 and FH4 are on the Series X SSD for this purpose. The thing I really miss are the destruction games, like Burnout 3 and to a lesser extent Burnout Paradise.

Wreckfest, Grip and FH4 are my go to arcade racers. The first two are underappreciated and are great homages to Destruction Derby and Rollcage from the PS1 days.

On the Indie side of things, Road Redemption is OK. It's an arcade racer which is very similar to the fantastic Road Rash series. And now I feel old.

these horizon games seem sort of dull to me , dont get mad at me
Sounds like someone who hasn’t played them.
Forza Horizon plays nothing like an arcade racer, the only reason some people even try to classify it as one is because of its world and over the top story not its gameplay.
That’s bullshit. If you played them at all you could see the how the grip and traction combined with all the other concepts work to make it more arcade than sim.m

It's really unfortunate. All want are arcade racers in the style of the old Need For Speed: circuits in exotic locations, dream cars and great music. Not too realistic, but not too arcady either. Hot Pursuit 2 on PS2 was perfect for me.

That's bullshit, if you played any real arcade racer you'd know Forza Horizon plays nothing like them and lol at trying to use the grip/traction as a reason why its an arcade racer :messenger_tears_of_joy:. The drifting in the games are ass in the sense of an arcade racer. If any real arcade racer like Burnout or Midnight Club released with Forza Horizon's shitty drift controls it would get destroyed by its fans.

I’d be happy with a Ridge Racer HD collection / Remaster at this point: don’t fuck with the physics just make better car models and textures with like all the tracks Mario Kart 8 style and take my money NAMCO.

I‘ve played a bunch of them, and you can go ahead and see right on my gamer card. I put Horizon right up there with Burnout 3 And Revenge.

Let’s not pretend our whole gaming record since 2005 isn’t available now.

Burnout wishes it had Forza controls. the only thing that comes close was PGR and you probably didn’t play that either.

Probably nothing will then. maybe if Sony had giving Bizzare Creations another chance you could have found the game you wanted.

They chose to shut them down instead.
