Leaked off-screen trailer of Elden Ring is legit - but no one has a link

Keep in mind that this was an internal trailer never meant to see public release, and said footage is from an older build.
Yeah, I read it was an early build preview from last year, but since some footage has leaked, I just hope From release a trailer soon. Maybe we get to see one during the late March MS event.

We will not, some Microsoft guy already said on twitter that there will not be any Elden Ring trailer at their March event.
I think we will get the true second trailer sometimes in May or June or whenever Microsoft decides to make their real non-E3 conference.

So damn excited for this game! They have only gotten better and better since DeS.

By Dark Souls III I had kind of gotten used to the boss fight style and was taking out bosses on one or two attempts. But Sekiro was a master class in combat design. I was spending hours fighting not even real bosses but optional mini bosses, and loving every second of it.

Somehow they changed it up and brought back that original challenge again to my weary eyes. I was jumping and parrying and doing all kinds of things in the split second rush of combat that I had never done in Souls games.

It is obvious they have a formula, yet they are willing to really experiment, and Sekiro showed them taking us to many very cool new places. The final boss, the hardest From boss I have yet to fight, is probably my favorite thing they have ever done, and it is the last thing before this game. I can't wait!

Gotta say, I am definitely not as impressed as I figured I would be. But it's a super low quality trailer and all that, so that's fine. Still getting the game day 1.

But I wasn't really impressed with any gameplay moment shown. We saw that you can jump semi-normally now. We saw a horse riding combat clip. That's about it.

I wasn't that impressed with the art style and world design either. The tree giants looked cool pulling that small wagon (do they really need two impaled giants per wagon? Seems a little excessive when a couple horses can do it). The architecture, and armor design didn't wow me.

And honestly the graphics didn't wow me either. The character models don't look that great. Looks like Dark Souls 3, or slightly worse for the most part.

I'm still getting it day 1 and am excited, since a trailer will never capture a FROM game. But my impressions after watching it aren't 100% glowing "mind-blown" stuff.

The huge head on the ground looked really cool and did you see the giant yellow tree in the background? It all screams “explore me”.The trailer or semi-trailer doesn’t show it’s true potential. Those trees seem to be impaled or possibly forced to carry it. It’s going to need more than a couple brief seconds to show where it’s headed. That was like a 2 second look of any of the other From Software games.

The giant head is probably my favorite part of the trailer. It does look pretty damn sick.

Anyway, I'm sure the game will be amazing.

I'll be happy with it still feeling like Dark Souls. Most every open world suffers in some ways. Whether it be shit combat like Elder Scrolls, uninteresting exploration like Shadow of Mordor or a game without a soul like Dragon's Dogma. Something has to give and for FromSoft it may just be the graphics since it's cross gen and the pandemic delayed it. I'm still psyched af to play it. Dark Souls level design and combat in an open world? Sign me up!

Imagine crying about graphics in a From Software game. That really isn't what brought us all here together.

Even if the graphics are shit from a technical point of view you just know the game will have top notch art direction.

If you really want to be concerned about something then let's talk about framepacing.

I’ve only seen the off-screen version of the trailer...
Not sure what I was hoping for, but there’s nothing particularly interesting or novel about what I’ve seen so far.
(Modern) FROM rarely disappoints, but we’ll see...

Announced at E3 2019, Elden Ring is an upcoming dark fantasy action role-playing game developed by FromSoftware and published by Bandai Namco Entertainment and FromSoftware for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One.[1] The game is being directed by Hidetaka Miyazaki, best known for creating the Souls series also developed by FromSoftware, with worldbuilding by fantasy novelist George R. R. Martin, best known for his A Song of Ice and Fire novel series.[2] A fan of Martin's work, Miyazaki contacted him with an offer to work together on a project, giving him the creative freedom to write the overarching backstory of the game's universe. Miyazaki used his contributions as the foundation of the game's narrative, comparing the process to that of using a "dungeon master's handbook in a tabletop RPG".[2][3] In addition, some staff from Game of Thrones, a television series adaptation of A Song of Ice and Fire, assisted with the game's development.[4]

Elden Ring began development in early 2017 following the release of The Ringed City, a piece of downloadable content for Dark Souls III.[5] As with Miyazaki's Souls games, Elden Ring will have the ability for players to create their own custom characters instead of playing as a fixed protagonist.[3] Miyazaki also considered Elden Ring to be a more "natural evolution" to the Souls series, as the game will be much larger in scale compared to them, featuring an open world with new gameplay mechanics such as horseback riding and combat.[3][5] However, unlike many other open world games, Elden Ring will not feature populated towns with non-player characters, with the world having numerous dungeon-like ruins in place of them instead.[3] When asked about the possibility of the story being novelized, Miyazaki stated that he would rather have players experience it themselves by playing the game, as he thinks the game's secrets and mysteries would be spoiled otherwise.[3] The score is being written by Yuka Kitamura, who has composed for many of Miyazaki's previous games.[6]

On March 1, 2021, an unreleased trailer and previously-unseen gameplay footage from an internal shareholder's meeting was leaked online.[7]

trailer checks out.

pity it is not next gen only.

imagine the ssd helps with the transition from place to place

Saw the full video, kinda unhyped by what seems to be the openworld, it looks like "open world" aspect of it is nothing but a replacement for the hub. I hope there is more to it, because if not then it's only going to feel diluted. I hope it has a lot of Cainhurst and Yahar'qul moments instead of just roaming from building to "building".

I still have no clue, why this shit has to be OPEN WORLD. Gonna drag, feel bad if you have to travel between different ruins, places. What if i don´t have the right weapon for the catacombs ... "ride back please & come back later!"
Also Open World kind of implies a red-line, a main quest line that player has to follow aka hand holding, and why even have an open world to traverse in a soulsgame? :Bleurgh:

In between various ruins, quest-hubs ... we will encounter endangered NPCs "screaming for help!": "HELP ME!! I WILL GIVE YOU MONIES AND A BJ! or a Quest "Escort me to the nearest Town!".

Only Breath of the Wild 2 and Hogwarts Legacy had me this excited.

Now Elden Ring. Damn this game looks absolutely incredible.

Really wish I could get into these games. It's the biggest disconnect from the gaming mainstream I have.

I was hoping it'd be a lot different from the Souls games, but it looks pretty par for the course. It does look more open, but who knows how much that ends up being true, and if it's even good for a game like this. Well, it'll probably end up being good anyway.

This is Bloodborne, a visually stunning PS4 game.

I'm making a list of everyone on the internet who says Elden Ring looks like a PS3 game and will publish it when the clean trailer drops.
Hell no bloodborne look like this

Were you recording from potato camera or what some kind of old tv?

Look like a blurry mess

Maybe but their art direction is fantastic, you just need to take a quick look at Sekiro to appreciate the talented art direction of this game, the swords, the characters, the Japanese architecture and folklore, how they merge mythology and legends with their traditional Japanese setting and also add the beautiful environment. Its just world class. Quality of Graphics is not important imo. Assassins Creed Odyssey has better graphics than Witcher 3 but Witcher 3 looks better imo because the art direction is superior. (e.g Toussaint)
I fully agree (except on the Sekiro example but that's personal).

I was just responding to someone who complained about graphics which is not the point of FromSoft games.

Art direction is vastly superior to graphics, I fully agree.

This comes from the leaks similar to Elden Ring now, back then Bloodborne was called Project beast. The trailer was never officially released and was supposed to remain internal.

My guess is that we have the same situation going on right now. It's more exciting to think about how much different Elden Ring will look like in the ACTUAL trailer.

I'm not sure what to think about the footage. It's not really clear so it's hard to judge the graphics but it doesn't seem like they've made any improvements in terms of visual fidelity.
