I’m glad it’s not next gen only. It makes the possibility of the next gen version being 60fps highly likely.trailer checks out.
pity it is not next gen only.
imagine the ssd helps with the transition from place to place
Is that the PS2 version?
It's from the original leaked Project Beast trailer. People were quick to deem the game a graphical disaster and a step back from Dark Souls back then, too.Hell no bloodborne look like this
Were you recording from potato camera or what some kind of old tv?
Look like a blurry mess
This comes from the leaks similar to Elden Ring now, back then Bloodborne was called Project beast. The trailer was never officially released and was supposed to remain internal.
My guess is that we have the same situation going on right now. It's more exciting to think about how much different Elden Ring will look like in the ACTUAL trailer.
Knowing From they will just max the resolution. They might be cool and do a framerate mode.I’m glad it’s not next gen only. It makes the possibility of the next gen version being 60fps highly likely.
Calm down... It's not GTA style open world. Think of it as DKS1 but expanded.I still have no clue, why this shit has to be OPEN WORLD. Gonna drag, feel bad if you have to travel between different ruins, places. What if i don´t have the right weapon for the catacombs ... "ride back please & come back later!"
Also Open World kind of implies a red-line, a main quest line that player has to follow aka hand holding, and why even have an open world to traverse in a soulsgame? :Bleurgh:
In between various ruins, quest-hubs ... we will encounter endangered NPCs "screaming for help!": "HELP ME!! I WILL GIVE YOU MONIES AND A BJ! or a Quest "Escort me to the nearest Town!".

No cities and npc? That's a bummer, i was expecting a more alive world.Im hyped for this game but one thing disappointed me is the confirmation that there is no cities or npc, so its basically a game where you fight monsters and explore dead areas. When they said its going to be open world rpg, i thought it will have big city and villages and npcs to interact with and take quests and change the world..etc..etc. I also thought it will feature gameplay aspects other than just combat/fighting. But whatever im still hyped.
But 90% of things in Miyazaki games are dead.No cities and npc? That's a bummer, i was expecting a more alive world.

Yeah i don't want cities with hundreds of npcs, but maybe something more than completely dead places...Alive isn't exactly what these games convey
Yup, ran like shit, generally looked like shit on a technical level, lots of shitty shit but daaaaamn that game was gooooood...What's with people loving bloodborne? Game looked like an early PS3 game, runs like shit and seems like any generic rpg.

Yeah, like entering a mostly empty city and seeing people who get tortured or killed in brutal way, or seeing a mother who cries on the ground or some poor guy half dead starving on the street, all this stuff would help with atmosphere\immersion if dark age camelot is the vibe they are searching for.I get what you're saying. I'd also like the world to feel dynamic, I kinda worry that'll feel empty and boring.
To be fair, you came into this thread shitting on a game that you haven't done any research on. Instead of admitting this and moving on, you end up backpedaling and get very defensive when confronted by this fact.Oh i'm sorry i don't follow every sliver of info on a game that didn't show me anything to make interested in following it, IMO when you begin your announcement trailer with "a new world by Hidetaka Miyazaki and GRRM" you're basically telling the guy's involved in it's story.
No, I simply said the video leaked was too blurry and like 10 seconds long that shows something or someone on a horses slashing something, my whole point is that i'm fascinated by the utter madness people have for a game that they have only truly seen one gameplay-less video of and a highly blurry leaked video that shows basically nothing and just lose their shit over it because it's made by From (who people actually think they've made nothing but gold all their existence IE 2009 to some) and is directed by Miyazaki.
It's going to be funny if the actual game is the opposite of the fantasies some people have made up in their minds about it.
Miyazaki commented on this in the very first interview after the E3 2019 CGI reveal. He said that the game was quite ambitious compared to previous works (open world, working with another writer, updating traversal and combat mechanics, updated AI path finding and planning routines, integrating their level design in an open world, etc.); he stated that adding in towns would have been a bit too much for them handle so they wanted to stick to their guns. He's right, though. They could broaden their horizons and make more intractable, alive worlds. Otherwise why make it open? Most Souls games are pretty open world anyway, you have hubs and can literally travel their worlds...
On second thought, it's best we don't have fetch quests where you just kill things anyway.
I love RDR2. It was made by Rockstar, the absolute cream of the crop of private game studios (some will disagree with me, I'm sure). Rockstar has more money than most AAA game studios combined and some country's GDPs! They have 10000s of talented engineers at their disposal. They also took 8-10 years to create RDR2. FromSoftware, a studio with probably less than 500 developers, has been developing Elden Ring for about 4 years while focusing on vastly different things gameplay-wise. I prefer FromSoftware tbh.so then whats red dead redemption's excuse
Noone concerned that this could turn out like Arkham Knight?
You know bolting on "vehicular" transport onto a franchise that is mostly about melee combat is a tricky thing. The new stuff doesn't need to be bad to hurt the experience, its how much it gets in the way of doing the stuff you want to be doing.
Private in what sense? Isn't Rockstar a subsidiary of Take-Two, which is a publicly traded company? It was made by Rockstar, the absolute cream of the crop of private game studios (some will disagree with me, I'm sure).
Dude I AM a fan of Fromsoftware, BUT i also temper my expectations, their previous games were at least known and warnted the excitement because the followed the same Souls formula, Elden Ring is a different style and something they've not done before so it's uncertain how it will turn out.To be fair, you came into this thread shitting on a game that you haven't done any research on. I believe the hype for this game is well warranted. FromSoftware have been consistently getting better and better with each game they release. It can't be considered a fluke at this point. They went from literal nobodies at the beginning of the decade to one of the most respected developers in all of gaming. Everything they have done has been building to this one game. Pretty exciting, wouldn't you agree?
If you think dragons are lame this probably isn't the series for you.horseback riding ?
flying enemies ?
lame ass dragons (again) ?
open world garbage ?
fetch quests ?
Skyrim mod by FromSoftware ?
Private in the sense that they don't answer to Sony or Microsoft and so petty console warfare is left for others. On the other hand, they also miss out on potential bucketloads of cash and resources that come with exclusivity + partnerships. CDPR and Ubisoft would also fall under this umbrella. I think a better term to use would be "third-party".Private in what sense? Isn't Rockstar a subsidiary of Take-Two, which is a publicly traded company?
Fair enough. Still, they have a consistent streak of success following the Souls + Sekiro + Bloodborne trail. There's a constant there. That constant is Miyazaki placed at the helm. I can understand not wanting to blindly put your faith into a single person though.Dude I AM a fan of Fromsoftware, BUT i also temper my expectations, their previous games were at least known and warnted the excitement because the followed the same Souls formula, Elden Ring is a different style and something they've not done before so it's uncertain how it will turn out.
Daemon X Machina was mediocre and ill designed and it was an attempt by from to evolve the Armored Core series and reach a new audience but it was just mediocre.
The game went through most of its development while next gen consoles had not even been announced, and "making it next gen" in the sense that it has to take full advantage of the new hardware is not like flipping a switch.Still thinking why did they target last gen, their fan will follow them wherever they are, they could have just targeted the new gen and people will consider it as a system seller even.
The leaked footage are too bland and really outdated, such a pity.
which lore are you referring to?Why did they bother with the Got writer for this game? The lore sounds typical From Soft
Elden Ring is not a next gen only game like the DS-Remake. Matching that in visual fidelity is pretty much out of the question. Graphics can be made scalable but not that scalable. If Bluepoint can make DeS look gorgeous then there should be no excuses for From to at least match that.
Bluepoint's job was to make a game for the new generation. Elden ring started development in the middle of last gen. I dont understand why people have a hardtime understanding this.If Bluepoint can make DeS look gorgeous then there should be no excuses for From to at least match that. Still though, I'll reserve judgement until we an official trailer release.
Modern Warfare was released in 2019 WITHOUT next gen in mind, Cold War was released in 2020 WITH next gen in mind. BOCW on PS5 does not look better than MW on PS4 Pro.Bluepoint's job was to make a game for the new generation. Elden ring started development in the middle of last gen. We know nothing about the lore other than some ring being shattered. Can you elaborate? Why did they bother with the Got writer for this game? The lore sounds typical From Soft
- The very vibrant color palette in use might be reinforced by weather, rumored to be key feature of the game as well and most shots look sunny afternoonish.
- Not a controlled leak. The trailer was never intended to be shown in public.
- No easy mode.
