Do you have your item discovery up? Even one humanity would help a lot, with 10 being the max for it. That could help with titanite farming.

You start with a base of 100 item discovery. Eating one Humanity will give you 150 and eating 10 will give you 210. Sometimes I stick with just one since I don't want to chance losing 10 Humanities early game if I die. There's a counter on the upper left of the screen that indicates how many Humanities you've consumed.

Right you don't want to farm for titanite. +7 should be fine though.
to pop humanity look for them in the items section and "use" them. The number in the corner of the top corner of the screen will go up, that's how many "humanity" you have. you can use one to go from hollow to human at a bonfire or use 1 to strengthen the bonfire so it has 10 estus flasks when u rest there instead of 5. And you can increase it by more later. Sorry if you already knew all that.

I do want to farm. But really don’t have the “humanity” to spare. It’s always seemed scarce for me. I’m aware rats are a good farming place to get some. Also, that’s likely why my “slugs” in blight town only turned up 1 slab and 1 green… shard. Was hollow while looking.

Well, you could always go back to Sen's and look for the gold serpent ring hidden inside. wearing that increases item discovery. But you will have to walk slowly in the swamp to wear it
I don't want to mislead you into thinking that upping your item discovery means there will be an abundance of large titanite shards every run through the swamp. The drop rate will increase but it will still take a bit of time.

In it for the long haul. He’s kicking my ass. Mainly due to the “fall damage” and me having to heal almost immediately gives him a free shot
But I’ll say the Uchi does 5x the damage. Amazing. Had him at maybe 10% health left. Almost had him. Drake sword is useless on him.
It’s mainly getting off the starting block. You start the fight staggered from the fall and have to heal.

Victory. Snagged a nice 20k soils. Titanite. And the glory

Never beat him before though. Tried a few times long ago and gave up. He was to OP. So it needed to be done. He needed to feel my wrath. He is so angry and rude and he needed death.

It's the final material needed to upgrade your weapon to maximum. The slab you have is the only guaranteed one in the base game and there's one in the DLC. Congrats on your victory over the boss!

Before u go back, maybe stop by snuggly crow's nest, drop off a piece of rubbish, then quit and reload so snuggly gives you a titanite chunk in exchange.
The slab you just won gets you from +14 to +15
Large shards get you to +10
But you'll need chunks to get from +11 to +14

just Fyi, I always play at under 25% equip load. So havel's ring is handy to help you wear as much armour as possible while still being fast

Without that. Not sure if I had won. My mobility was stupid insane. I try to stay at minimum a “mid roll”. I’ll never fat roll. Ever. Also the bleed damage the Uchi does is INSANE. He went down quickly once I spammed RT

Mad progress for sure. Progress rocks. Happy I’m not stuck for hours and hours in places like I’m certain has happened to others before

Yesterday was one of them days when I couldn't do shit. Started a hunter build despite knowing that I don't like the short sword. My timing was off, I was rushing attacks, not defending properly. Got blasted by Havel twice, didn't get the dark knight sword, got killed by him, then 2 skeletons on the way back to him, lost my souls.
To top it all off some asshole invaded me. Is there anything more pathetic than a player decked out in high end gear, invading Undead Burg and fishing for backstabs? He got me the first time with his bullshit, but as soon as the fog doors popped the 2nd time I was ready for him. I dodged, parried his attacks and took him out. 3rd time same thing. 4th time he suicided as soon as he saw me. Then he sent me a buttraged message calling me a cheating hack. That made up for all the frustrations but it was enough for the day. I quit and deleted character.

Also… umm… I admit to cheesing Havel.
Noticed upon walking up the steps from the Darkroot Garden he could be seen through the door. Which I knew, meant I can Attack him. Obviously it means he can also attack me. He actually killed me twice. But eventually beat him easily after I knew his “through the door“ pattern lol

your stats are good based on how you describe your play style and your level is about right for sens fortress. If you're not gonna buff uchi with a spell, only put points in VIT, END and DEX from here on. You could put some points in STR after DEX hits 40, but its be more effective to ignore strength until then, unless you want to carry a powerful heavy shield in certain situations...imo that is

I'll probably make a dex/faith build. That'll involve getting to Dusk as quickly as possible which is a hassle but worth it

I remember in in one section on Land of giants (forgot the exact name), there was one annoying archer on a narrow ledge who keeps firing arrow, big hole on the side of the ledge.Exactly. Every room is a damn ambush in DScrazy. Also discovery is 90% of the game. Crazy how much you wont see if you just run through it.
I sought to run and immediately end it, when i ran closer, I saw how the narrow ledge is wider inside, and in a fraction of a second my mind goes "oh fuck, there must be an ambush!"
Turns out i was right, one hiding skeleton appeared and gave me a good kick off the ledge. My mind goes, "good one FromSoft, good one".

Oh yeh there is a max soul level your character can be, but the returns of levelling up will diminish long before that. I think max level is like 700 or 900 but a character that is say, level 300 is already great at everything and getting negligible gains from level ups after that.
In the old days, people used to think of a soul level 120-125 characters as a "finished" character, because you can build a good character in a certain style that way. So one guy could be a wizard, another guy could be a fighter, etc. But now a lot of people just keep putting more points in whatever they feel like, or so it seems

I once tried a hacked saved with max souls (99999999 or whatever it was) and it wasn't enough to max all stats to 99. But no one goes to 99.
Most stats have what's called a "soft cap" at 30 or 40, where the return on investment drops massively. We're talking from 5 points per level to 1 point every few levels.

Tonight I went back for the doll in the Asylum, cleared out the remaining demon statue guys in Senn’s Fortress, and took out Sif.

Nice! I also Have the doll… what’s it do again? Also… SIF gave me mad trouble at first. Took maybe 5-7 tries to beat him. Backing him into a corner and getting underneath him works well.

It’s all about stamina. He does a double swipe attack that you need a lot of stamina to block through. Or you have to time a roll through one of the swipes very exactly. Stay between his back legs as much as you can. I think I died 3 times before I got it right.
The doll opens a path through the painting in Andor Londo to the Painted World. That’s the building with all the white robed assassins.

Had a short go at Sens last night. Not too long. Was tired. I feel far better equipped for the snake dudes. I’m basically trying to speed run my way to the bon fire before I have more of a proper explore. Almost made it a couple times. Learned the patterns of the snakes and the big ball rather well.
I’ll give it a go later and hope to reach the bon fire. Wasn’t too bad though.

I always have a thing for the silence and fall damage rings in Souls games. Silence satisfies my love for stealth, and I love environmental rings that let me explore without consequence.
