Definitely, but still try to put volutmetric ambient occlusion to a decent setting and volumetric lighting to medium. Ime with the other recent RE games I recommend turning Shadows down a couple notches to save TONS of frames, and also turn off depth of field and SSR completely, because DoF will destroy framerates in close ups of hairy people in cutscenes and unless they fixed SSR in this release it too artifacty/distracting with it on compared to how much resources it uses when you are trying to run at 60fps.

The RE2 remake demo ran OK but I think the lack of VRAM is a big issue. You really cannot do much these days with 4GB. Remember the time when a 256MB GPU was the top of the line, heh!

Yeah you'll have to whack down the texture quality then, I'm pretty sure you can get it within 4GB at 1080p easy though no? What it says on that page in the bottom corner is a load of shite, it said it would need ~12GB when I was trying to run it in 6K but the VRAM usage won't actually go above what your card has. In my case 7.9GB.

Find a place near the edge of the map with a big wide open view of the rest of the map with lots of detail and then start at the bottom texture setting and turn it up until the framerate drops maybe? I'm not 100% sure the best way to do it. I guess you'd know it was VRAM issues if the fps drops when you aren't at 99% GPU usage, or you have long pauses/frametime spikes.

No. You can eat and drink as you wish as soon as sunset hits. But generally, overeating is discouraged as it's obviously not good for our body.

It remains to be seen if the PC settings will look way better than the PS5 settings, if they don't then I'll play on PS5 because then I get the Dualsense support and don't need to worry about gfx settings and just play.

If I try to do 60fps lock + optimised settings @ 1440p and the settings don't make a big difference I think I'll get better IQ from the CB 2160p on PS5 overall. I'm sure locking to 30 and playing at max settings @ native 4K (or even above if I can do it) will be amazing looking but will be temporally disgusting in FP and I'll vomit all over those zambies/werewolves/vampires.

Not only it started in window, when it switched to full screen and hdr, the resolution is all fucked up.
After then it told me the servers are dead and there is no way to quit other than alt f4....
And it messed up all my windows icons. I swear I hate pc gaming.
Meanwhile on ps5, there was a neat countdown to the demo, everything worked perfectly.
I am a pc gamer for far too long for these things to not annoy me...

But fuck. 3080, 3700x, 4k120 oled. If I can get more than 60fps, there is no point getting ps5 version.

I mean, i still have problems to run Hades in my tv with a 3070 and i'm pretty sure it has nothing to do with the power of the rig but something way more cumbersome.
I'm strongly even considering a double dip in that game on switch since they released cross save support.

You NEVER know how shit is going to perform on PC, i strongly appreciate demos on PC because of that and even more so Steam's refund policy.

KyoZz Updated the OP, there is no countdown timer and just an error on attempted server connect because some idiots wrote how they had bypassed the countdown timer and were playing it early (yesterday?) for hours on the Steam forums, so Capcom turned the servers off until they go active again at 5pm PST (1am UK time) today.

Makes it look bad though yeah, I also get the fucked up res on launch, its trying to run in a wider than 16:9 resolution so I have black bars at top and bottom. Can confirm that alt tabbing still breaks HDR as well ha, it went all grey for me. Might just be during those initial setup screens though since PS5 version was similar because I think it still uses some SDR imagery for those screens even when its in HDR mode so they look murray-mental.

I haven't seen how it runs and looks yet but I'm already getting heavy jelly that I won't be able to do native 4k AND 60fps, fudge sake. I'm gonna do 1440p @ 60 @ optimised settings and then have the demo running on PS5 simultaneously in the same spot and flick back and forth.

More nerd stuff:

In RE2/3R 80% of 4K (3072x1728 I believe, since 50% is 1080p, I'm never sure with these res scaling sliders though) gave me locked 60 in 99% of situations but cutscenes and heavy alpha gameplay still slammed me down to like 45 fps which was pretty jarring, so I had to drop down to 2560x1440 to lock to 60 in all scenes (Except some trouble spots, but I'm talking like 10 seconds of cutscenes in total dropped frames so its real pedant shit).
