Watched the video, got to the part where he threw a knife at someone and the guy in front of him just kept walking...clueless. And when he turned there was a stutter in the animation.

Same janky animations. Same shitty AI. It's just a graphics boost, then. Another skip.

Maybe it's because I'm in the middle of playing TLOU2 in 60fps on PS5, but man the game looks rough graphically and the animations look like shit.

Nope, you're right. This is pedestrian level of animation work compared to how far gaming has come.

Not expecting TLOU2 levels of quality, but definitely less canned animations.

Graphically, it's an obvious cross gen game where Ubisoft just took the lazy route and made it as mediocre as you can make a crossgen can be.

Super disappointed. But hopefully gameplay holds up somewhat well.

The only Far Cry I missed was the 1st, the best being the hardcore 2nd one. This looks like so much fun, already gave in about it going back as hardcore as the 2nd with impactful story about real problems.

Still a big fan of the franchise.

I played the first one and actually didn't like it, gave the second game a try as it didn't have all the same weird elements and really liked it. So basically I played most of them, only liked Far Cry 2,3 and 5. (I really liked 5).

Hopefully they return to Africa one day to get more of them conflict diamonds lol

Environments look great, but once again, the enemy character models look like shit and don't animate all that well. The shitty enemy character models that were copy and pasted bothered the hell out of me in FC5, they tried to pass it off hey they're all in a cult so of course they look the same.

The game does look fun though, I'll probably get it when it drops in price.

As for Far Cry 2, it was technically impressive for it's time but I just didn't find it fun to play. Dropped it after about 5-6 hours after I got a quest that kept glitching and a character kept dying off screen.

Yep, after tlou2, realistic shooters need to upgrade their animations all around, this shit doesn't cut anymore.

Far Cry 6 is a game that could benefit greatly from good graphics. FPS were always the showpiece when it comes to evolution of graphics.
Remember Doom, HL1+2, Crysis etc.

Who cares about graphics. I want destruction physics or anything unique. This is cookie cutter trash

FC2: No traditional map, diamond search, specialized checkpoints/spots for ammo, meds, weapons, etc, public transportation being very critical, Malaria, different choices make different stories, 11 protagonists to choose from that in reality they're just fucking mercenaries and shit people, the villain is a fucking philosopher and to me the best villain ever, based on true events and conflicts.

Also you need to change your weapon regularly and at hard opening new save/safe houses is very challenging as you can be killed and sent way back! NPC's can follow you to the end of the map! The AI is mostly so amazing, getting flanked from behind. I don't remember AI being this tactical, also snipers will put you down quickly. Escaping is always an option to avoid being killed in Hard mode.

Man, the game made me tear so many times, it's so touching.

I'm glad that in cutscenes you go 3rd person, otherwise the trend of not caring so much about the main protagonists would've continued. Gameplay is so fucking fun and stupid.

No. I like those too. I hope that carries over too. I meant the ones where you are captured, either in a compound or dream like state, and have escape or kill dudes in a certain order to get out. I hated those. It was fine the first time, but it seemed like I was doing that a lot.

Far Cry 6, Horizon Forbidden West, Dying Light 2 and Ratchet & Clank are going to rock my world.

I just wish Sony would release a pro controller or a back button attachment. It would make fps games a much more enjoyable.

This doesnt look like it changes up the formula much, if at all: a technically very competent, but ultimately designed-by-committee and souless. Hopefully I'm wrong because I really want to like these games again as much as I did with FC3.
