The only major game to be an exception in recent years is Overwatch, but that has a cartoony art style, when was the last time you saw a realistic looking female in a game that was sexy?

I can't think of many games that even have super attractive female leads anymore. I suppose Lara Croft is always nice and jill valentine from 3 remake was good too. Who else is there from recent times?

Personally I think her face/jaw have some weird structure, and I would bet that the trend of avoiding too sexy females went a bit out of hand here. Fortunately, it's nothing too horrendeous that prevents enjoying the game.

Aloy from Horizon 1 wasn't a looker, but she looked sufficiently decent for me not to have a problem with it. Her fat face in Horizon 2 really stands out.

The problem with the video is that he made it to try and preach to people who are basically just having a laugh about a character's appearance in a fictional work. It's the kind of conversation that doesn't merit a response nevermind such a preachy "we need to do better" thing. It gives oxygen to the trolls basically.

Aloy does look er….a little different. Most people including myself typically like playing with attractive characters in games, but I don't mind average or even ugly as well. Games and most entertainment in general are about fun, immersion and escapism for most and they generally like to look at attractive characters.
What gets me though is the lack of consistency in entertainment. I don't mind playing with a Selene or Aloy in Returnal and Horizon. I'm playing for the experience, escapism and fun. Characters like that are absolutely fine to me, but why do they insist in basically finding the most muscular, handsome men and supermodel, gorgeous women for TV, social media, commercials, movies, advertising, etc, but feel games should be more grounded?

I think there is a sense that behind the scenes some publishers and developers are making an conscious effort to ensure that their female characters cannot possible be accused of being designed for "the assumed straight male gamer". That's what might annoy people.
