I was just about to say I didn't see you mention Xbox AT ALL yet several people start talking about how bad Xbox is as supposed to talking about the topic. It's so weird.

On the topic I picked up a PS5 at launch because I hate FOMO. In addition one of the companies execs already mentioned that there was going to be a cross generational period so I never expected every game to be exclusive to the current gen. I am just not a believer that just because a game is cross gen that it was 'held back'. A creative game developer will be able to make fantastic games no matter what platform they are working with. God of War and Horizon should still be decent games no matter the PS4 support.

That Nov 2020 article already confirmed their stance on cross gen support for 3 years. However to be fair, they never said which games. Aside from the known games at that time (Spidey, Sackboy, Horizon 2), future cross gen games could be anything from lots to some, from small scale games to key franchises. Will Sony first party VR games work on both PSVR and PSVR2? Who knows.

Doesn't mean 100% of games are cross gen. But at minimum, gamers now know more big franchises are on the table confirmed.

Give credit for Sony for spilling the beans at least. They didn't tell gamers Spidey MM and Sack Boy were cross gen until close to system launch. At leat with GOW and GT7 they are giving gamers a good year out notice.

You lack basic reading comprehension skills. Nowhere do i say that NOONE has coil whine. I know some people have it, and im sure it sucks and i hope theyre able to get it sorted out. My Pro also (at the time) would get really loud with certain games. Noone is denying anything.

Saying i have my head in the sand like im somehow denying your imaginary and wrong conclusion that ALL PS5's are loud is just lame, and again shows that you have some sort of anti PS5 agenda. There are plenty of PS5 owners such as myself who have completely silent PS5s.

I think the ones that do it right are the titles that go beyond a simple resolution/framerate boost. Apparently that's what HFW appears to be doing but we have to wait for the comparisons to find that out.

When people say their PS4s sound like a jet engine they mean fan noise, your issue was coil whine. Don't mix them up. They are two separate things.

Fan noise isn't an issue on PS5 AFAIK, so that has been improved/fixed compared to PS4/Pro.

Now coil whine is something that every electronic device has (PC graphics cards e.g.). A potential fix to mitigate some of the noise for Sony would be to change the power supply which I think they'll do in the later revisions, launch models always tend to have these kinds of issues.

I already have one, but if I was still on PS4 I'd rather wait to play all crossgen games on PS5, with better graphics, better controller, fast loading and higher frame rate. I did that even for Ghost of Tsushima, that I correctly thought would get a 60fps patch on PS5.

Haven't you heard that xbox game pass is the sweetest deal in gaming, you can play old ass games for "FREE" in that way that purchase is 100% justified. MS is the most pro consumer and inclusive platform and Phil Spencer a.k.a. "games are coming" and "wait another 5 years" is the new messiah of all gamers on earth. We are fools if we do not support MS console and their services that just by subscribing to them we are better gamers.

Already got mine but those games wouldn't have changed my decision anyway. I'm hoping that Sony comes out with something with a big online push, an AAA FPS like Killzone or Resistance and an arcade racer like Motorstorm, Wipeout and Driveclub.
Then it will be worth the money.

Man the experience of playing my ps4 games on my ps5 is infinitely better then on my ps4 Pro. Would I fuck be better off waiting 2 years to buy one. I wouldn't be able to buy ratchet then either.

Lots of games run much better, console is very quiet and the menus are super responsive.

Why would I choose to suffer? And not like it's going to be cheaper then €500 anytime soon. As long as supply outlasts demand it's staying at €500. That could be years. Much better investment to buy now.

If I ever get one it’ll be when there is a Slim/Pro revision. hopefully there will be exclusives by then that I want to play. the only reason I’d get one today is to play Demons Souls and my old PS4 games. so yea, basically only want one to play DeS and I could just buy a cheap second hand PS3 for that tho…

apart from DeS the only PlayStation game I want to play is Horizon Forbidden West but that’s coming to PS4. not interested in God Of War/Gran Turismo and I ain’t touching anything Naughty Dog make after TLOU2.

I had a PS5 pre ordered but cancelled it and kept my PS4. Feels like I made the right decision. If I did keep the PS5 order I’d probably have sold it by now and made a profit off it!

my console plans are to buy a Series X asap and only get a PS5 once there is new hardware and actual games I want to play.

Im one of the biggest haters of Sony making cross gen games, but as a person who is a console gamer only and doesn't own a PC. This upgrade has been way better than PS4 and PS3 launch purchase. The fact that it has backwards compatibility and many games running better, having access to Plus Collection of a ton of decent free games. As well as the odd exclusives it was worth it for me even after the cross gen announcement of key titles. With PS4 we had Killzone and inFamous which were not great, it wasn't until Bloodborne things got interesting. It didn't help it wasn't backwards compatible either. I'm still happy with my purchase playing Spiderman with RT and 60fps has been nice. Instant load times is great. It also helps I didn't pay a dime for my PS5 upgrade as I sold 2 PS5s to fund my PS5 purchase and made a profit.

I mean, it's not like the very first Xbox first party games are coming to Xbox, they're both PS5 exclusives as well.
