Xbox Italy Instagram leaks FPS Boost for Dark Souls 3

I honestly don't expect this to happen, but it'd be pretty funny to see a 120 FPS boost on DS3. I may be wrong, but I think Jason Ronald said their method of FPS Boosting doesn't impact things like physics calculations, but maybe it depends on how coupled the game's systems are with framerate. I'm only expecting 60 FPS for DS3 though.

I hope there's some resolution boost special sauce because 900p is yucky even with 60 fps..

isn't it 1080p 60 on ps5 because it was unlocked on ps4?
Wasn't it the same on xbox ?

If they're forcing a fps unlock it'll drop the resolution further, like the other games that do this.
I really hope they don’t for Xbox players sake, lower than 900p is starting to get too low IMO.

I only use a 1080p TV for my PS5, but going down to something like 720p or lower would be too low even for me.

Didn't they unlock the Xbos One X version of the game? They did for the Pro so it ran 1080p at around 50/55 fps. It's nice smooth 1080/60 on PS5 though, it must be one of those games that got a Pro upgrade but not a One X upgrade due to it being released a couple of months later, I know there was a few that missed out simply due to the release dates of the two consoles.

Nope, it either runs One S or One X code and this never got a One X patch.

Not all games do it, given it didn't get a one x patch, I think it will be fine.

that's not even true for all fps boost titles, but especially not true here because there's only the One S version on Xbox. Nothing to "fall back" to like some other games
Are you sure about this? How will they force double the frame rate without dropping res, since there's no One X version?

Perhaps more importantly than the frame rate to people, running the game on PS5 also sorts out the awful frame time inconsistancies that these games always seem to have.

From Software doesn’t support their games that long from my experience, DS3 came the same year as PS4 Pro but the One X came almost 1,5 years after DS3s release.

I have it on PS4.

I guess I'm curious what it even runs at on PS5 currently. Might have to pick it up on sale on X at some point.

Honestly, the Xbox BC is just fantastic. Everything carries over from previous purchases for free from all gens, and most of it runs significantly better. Zero additional cost.

In some instances, because there are higher graphics requirements to enable FPS Boost technology, we’ve had to reduce a game’s resolution to ensure it both runs smoothly and plays great. In those select cases, FPS Boost is not automatically enabled for Xbox Series X gamers, but can easily be turned on under the Compatibility Options in the Manage game and add-ons setting.

Welcome to the club. We’ve been playing DS3 at 60 FPS on pS5 since day one. You’re only 6 months late. Better late than ever.
I kinda see his point though. At least MS isn’t putting next gen upgrades behind paywalls like Spider-Man remastered or GoT’s PS5 features (like rumble) exclusive to the DC
