It seems this fight has much less hype than what usually is for a McGregor fight? I don't really feel the HYPE or maybe its just me. Still looking forward to it.
Kind of, I would agree. McGregor for me was definitely more interesting when he was the loud mouthed fighter defying the odds. Current McGregor mostly talks about money, boxing and lying that he is hungry. He hasn't been motivated IMO.

And his current time highlight reel is being on his hands and knees gasping for air or regaining his consciousness whilst in a Rashad Evan's pose.

Crossroads for McGregor. Although I couldnt call the fight, but do edge towards Poirer because Conor isn't such a smart fighter anymore.

Nobody gives a fuck about it because we're all waiting for our king to get back in the ring next month

I agree. He lost his edge. He looked completely stiff in his last fight.

It's gonna be do or die for macgregor's career (or what's left of it...)
i hope he somehow shows up with a bit of the old mystic mac mojo and fucks up poirier, who seems like a bit of a douche nozzle, but i ain't gonna bet my dick on it.

Should be a good fight, but again its only a big thing because of the McGregor fantasy bubble.

Dustin, like Nate Diaz is an excellent fighter but has always been a little inconsistent which is why given his experience its taken so long to reach the apex.

Dustin is a much better fighter than diaz lol.

Diaz in his last fight looked like a complete fucking idiot even when he had leon hurt with that lucky shot and the fight before he was pieced up by journeyman jesus...

Their records are pretty telling if you ask me.

Does it really matter when Khabib could probably fight them both back-to-back and still not lose a round :D

McGregor's problem is he hasn't taken the sport serious in awhile. Everytime I see clowns amass a lot of money through fighting, I see an extravagant lifestyle suck the talent right out them.

Conor is not the same after Khabib beatdown probably still see the fight in his nightmares, i expect another loss

I agree with Dirk. Connor lost his spirit when he got rich, well before the Khabib shit. I think it was around the time after he fought Jose Aldo is when Connor lost it.

He's a shell of his former self and will never be great again.

Khabib can also fight number 1 contender and number 200 ranked back to back, doesn't mean that number 200 ranked is nowhere close to number 1 contender :lollipop_grinning_sweat:

McGregor is taking this fight very seriously and his training has obviously gone up a notch.
I think it will be a draw or McGregor win.
I believe McGregor has been too cocky with a superiority complex and that is the reason for his losses.

At some point, sooner rather than later I think, the damage Dustin has taken is going to catch up to him. He's been in some fucking wars and I feel his chin is going to betray him.

As for the fight, my guess is Conor makes the necessary adjustments and the fight goes longer, but same outcome.

Remember though, that Dustin was in trouble a few times in the second fight. Conor should be the favorite here. If he can't win this, his reputation will go down hard.

Interesting line up
Poirier vs McGregor - Poirier since there is nothing to show for Conor. It has been a long time since Conor has had any dominant form. Poirier is in his resurgence like Jan Blachowicz.
Burns vs Thompson - Thompson managed to stifle the rise of Neal and Luque(both fighters are solid/entertaining). However, I do believe that Burns is in that top 3 gatekeeper spot kinda like how Frankie Edgar was with the lightweight belt gatekeeper years ago. I see Burns taking this and the spicy take... by KO.
Tuivasa vs Hardy - Tuivasa wins. I may be biased against Hardy but it is undeniable that the UFC hand fed that guy a bunch of bums to prop him up. Tuivasa isn't exactly amazing either. Since he recently beat Stefan "glassjaw" Struve as his most notable recent win. Then he has a win in the past against Andrei Arlovski but lets be honest. Who hasn't beat Arlovski at least once in their career?
Aldana vs Kunitskaya - sadly the women's division hasn't gained my attention outside of champions and a handful of outliers. The rest(including this match) just feels like they are just spotlighting the fight rather than giving us ranked fighters fighters(same issue I have with scrubs like Hardy).
Sean O'Malley vs another no name: Sean O Malley I guess... Smolka was a better test but this is now just another prop fight for Sean since dude got injured.

Now to point out more interesting fights than the last 3 on the main card that exist in the undercard.
Carlos Condit vs Max Griffin - this is basically a back up to the main card in case something falls out but is way better than the last 3. Going with Condit since the man is a legend but Max Griffin has had some solid fights against legends too.
Jennifer Maia vs Jessica Eye - Jennifer is the sister of the famous Damien Maia(the best one dimensional fighter the UFC has seen). Jessica used to be in contention for like... a month. A far more interesting story and like this low on the card to promote fight pass.

Thank you to whoever read my thoughts. Appreciate you

People have literally been saying this about Conor ever since he came back from his hiatus. It is literally the narrative I have seen thrown out for every single fight. Then they felt justified when he beat Cowboy. It is tiring seeing everyone prop him up when he hasn't done anything except make a bunch of people practice shoulder strikes like goofballs in the gym now.

It could go either way, but I do believe Conor will take it. Poirer will still have that leg to kick. Even when Conor was bouncing around more like in the first fight, Poirer was nailing his calf kicks. So that is not going to change.

But Conor is probably going to be throwing lots of kicks himself. Is Poirer really good enough to mix it up, take him down to tire him out, not too sure. They can knock each other out, but think Conor gets there first.

Hope Conor loses again and certifies his position as the class clown who has it all but in the fighting spectrum, he is there to sell a fight and get beat up.

Going through all the Ultimate Fighter seasons since I never watched them. Nate Diaz in season 5 is fucking hilarious.

"I hear people say that all the time, you know? Oh, he's a mental fighter, an emotional fighter. I don't even know what that shit means. That's the most retarded shit I ever heard. Mentally? That's fucking mentally retarded as far as I'm concerned"

You are right. Was going to list it and I skipped it. I listed it more for the fact that I am interested in Jennifer Maia having her debut I believe. Jessica hasn't been relevant in so long. Hall vs Topuria is a great fight and will have bigger meaning for the division.

Conor is far from finished. The Khabib loss doesnt mean much when Khabib is the most dominant combat fighter of perhaps all time.

He got koed by Dustin. Its not like Conor had no chance in that fight or looked terrible. He easily won the first round and rocked Dustin. At best its a 50/50 fight.

I would love for Dustin to ko him again, and it might happen. But could very easily see Conor winning. I think Conor will win. He will use more kicks, and that should make a difference. Conors kicks are superior to Dustins.
