Must be because Gamepass needs to be making $5B a month by itself in order to be sustainable.Don't worry guys, Nadella is totally going to shut down a division making $15 billion and the Series X will be the final Xbox console.

impressive numbers. revenue (not profit obv) being 2 Bethesdas in a single quarter lol crazy money..
Waiting for someone to not read how 3rd party revenue contributed to the lower content and services revenue and say it's bc game pass isn't profitable and is dying which is why they won't share the numbers.
Based on quarterly gaming sales around $3.74 billion, its annual revenue from the Xbox division reached almost $15.4B.
I'll be surprised if we hit page 2 before someone comes in saying exactly that lol.In b4 ‘wellll aschually this is bad because…’

Regardless what certain sections on here say about them, things like having a good BC program, FPS Boost, next gen patches, etc, are enough to get people buying Xbox consoles. Sure everyone wants the next gen games to come, and they will, but there are advantages of owning a Series console now.they are being this successful while in the middle of Xbox has no games meme….I can’t even imagine what the revenue will be like once the big hitters land and consoles are readily available. Gonna be a big generation for gaming.
And you will never get them anymore. As Phil said before the gen started, they could be 'winning' the gen and they still wont release numbers anymore.Good to hear they're doing well, but I'd still like to hear some raw numbers about hardware sales and projections moving forward.
Completely agree, love the series x and happy with what it offers right now. its only going to get better in the future. Will deffo pick up a series s down the line for the spare room.Regardless what certain sections on here say about them, things like having a good BC program, FPS Boost, next gen patches, etc, are enough to get people buying Xbox consoles. The numbers will come out one way or the other. There are several tracking firms worldwide like NPD that keep track of these things. We always get the numbers eventually. And you will never get them anymore. As Phil said before the gen started, they could be 'winning' the gen and they still wont release numbers anymore.
People need to forget the sales warz aspect and accept that simple hardware sales are not the 'be all and end all' for Microsoft anymore.
They need to release games on Playstation because they won't be able to recoup the costMust be because Gamepass needs to be making $5B a month by itself in order to be sustainable.
I think we'll see them double down on cloud and Game Pass over the next 12 months. Hopefully they continue to invest in their carbon neutral policies, too.It is time for acquisitions 168 bn in revenue, 61 bn in profits this year

Tbh doesn't sound massively positive.
Saying that all the hardware is sold out, (well the Series X) and still very early days for this gen. The next gen games are coming out right now and safe to assume this Christmas will be huge for Xbox. So think the next set of results will be more representative.
Are we looking at the same data? Or are you looking at that graph upside down?Tbh doesn't sound massively positive.

Shawn Layden is such an idiot.Must be because Gamepass needs to be making $5B a month by itself in order to be sustainable.
It has a ton of great multis and BC games. What it needs is way more big AAA exclusives.but but but….no games
15 billion sales, not profit.Don't worry guys, Nadella is totally going to shut down a division making $15 billion and the Series X will be the final Xbox console.

Well apparently numbers of any sort aren't the "be all and end all" for MS. Doesn't really make sense as they seem to be doing fine. If you stop sharing numbers you have a reason to hide them, and MS is far from the only company to pull such a move. And you will never get them anymore. Do you genuinely believe it's a glowing report? It seems lukewarm at best, apologies if it offends (very) sensitive people. More hardware being available will increase revenue. Supply still hasn't met demand yet.Are we looking at the same data? Or are you looking at that graph upside down?

Shhh don't wake up manabyte from his world of fantasy. Imagine lose so many time on trivial things instead to talk about games. Pathetic15 billion sales, not profit.
They stopped giving out hardware numbers in 2014. Its time to accpet it and move on.Well apparently numbers of any sort aren't the "be all and end all" for MS. Sales numbers are the lifeblood of business by the way, so saying it's not the "be all and end all" is absolutely absurd. That's like saying your paycheck isn't the "be all and end all" for your money if it's the only income you have. Come again?
"We are doing great! Oh you want to know about sales numbers? Well if you want to figure all that stuff, that's not really important to us ... "
Anyway! Just prefer to deal with reality. These threads read so bizarrely. There is a certain continually used image, that I won't post, that is repeatedly used, fits yet again, and it always boggles my mind that it happens.
I don't understand this. So if someone doesn't have an over the moon take on the company currently hitting "last place" numbers in every important metric, your response is an attempt at mocking them? I don't think this reaction comes across the way you think it does.
Again Xbox is doing fine, and there is plenty of room to improve and grow. I just can't get over the reactions from the "Xbox-only" crowds in some of these threads. You're literally celebrating over a company that won't report numbers, experiences marginal growth, and is down in some categories. But pointing that out is just called reporting the news, it's not a bash.
To wit:
Microsoft reports weaker Surface and Windows revenue amid global chip shortage
Cloud and Office save the revenue daywww.theverge.com
P.S. Notice what The Verge points out about GP numbers. And, again, this is just "the news." This is not a "take."

So it’s a record Q4 for Xbox, and you lead your first post with ‘doesn’t sound massively positive’, and then you start squawking that everyone is too sensitive to your obvious trolling.apologies if it offends (very) sensitive people.
You guys need calm it down tho.
You're far too sensitive. So it’s a record Q4 for Xbox, and you lead your first post with ‘doesn’t sound massively positive’, and then you start squawking that everyone is too sensitive to your obvious trolling.
The mods need to go on another cull at the moment as some of the usual PS brigade are pushing it far too much.
I’m not sensitive, your attempts at ‘subtle’ trolling are just ridiculously piss poorHave no words. You're far too sensitive.
