I'm sorry I should have said "legally".
Nonetheless I am very happy that sony is putting their games on the PC now. It's a wonderful business decision by them and like I said I truly hope they come out with a gamepass competitor at some point soon so that they will truly compete with Microsoft in the Western Market while Nintendo focus more on the console Market as well as the Eastern Markets. In that scenario I feel like everyone wins. Nintendo, Microsoft and sony wins.
you can play every Nintendo game legally on PC... nothing about it is illegal.
the og Switch model is super easy to jailbreak, and once you did that you can transfer over you games to your PC... legally... and the Emulator can then legally play your games.
not sure if there are already USB card readers for Switch games, but once that's a thing (if it isn't already) you don't even need a Switch anymore to transfer your games
I admit I did not know that. If it is legal to play all first party released Nintendo Switch games day one on PC then color me shocked. Well if that's the case then PC is the true ultimate platform and I have no idea why people buy consoles anymore when you can just purchase a Pro Controller and have all games at your disposal on the PC.
I'm just very happy that sony is doing this and I'm even more happier that they are diving into the mobile market as well.
Jim Ryan is a god-send.
Name a single nintendo game that isn’t playable on PC

The state of Switch emulation is still nowhere near that of Wii/Wii U. It will happen at some point but calling them playable right now is kinda pushing it.
Why do you care?I'd like them to skip Steam entirely. Screw giving Valve 30% for any of their first-party games.
What they are actually working on:What people want them to be working on:
God of War, Ghost of Tsushima, Bloodborne
What Kagoshima_Luke thinks they are working on:
The Order: 1886
Thanks but I don't own those games on Steam so not sure how I'd check. You already answered the question though so we should be good or we are talking over each other. Old games might require login but the new ones don't;i put the links so you can check yourself the requirement is listed on the pages.
edit : this the ms page on steam https://store.steampowered.com/publisher/XboxGameStudios/#browse
as you can see games without xbox live are old or third party
Can't wait to see people's reaction to a PC port of Rift Apart
Yeah I am not sure about that either. GOG Galaxy (I think) can display friends (not sure about PSN, but it can show us our XBL friends who are playing) so there is hope.I imagine they could work with valve and map achievements to trophies. Not sure how friends would work though.
I know.Horizon, Days Gone, Death Stranding… I’ll let you in on a little secret, people actually don’t give a shit. And if Xbox fans have taught us anything is that PC sales will just be used to prop an IP’s success even further.
PC expands the market, it’s an open platform, it doesn’t really compete with consoles.
Releasing GT7 day one on PC and PlayStation? Sony would be dumb not to.
I know.
Still, i can think of a few special people who'll be giving some nice reactions regardless of logic.
Would highly depend on how they'd port it. Essentially if they'd design the game to take advantage of different specs of each machine, like automatically using more RAM to leverage slower storage speedsI'm curious to see what will happen if the game is run of a HDD. Should be quite an interesting analysis.
At last for MCC , you need to login with ms account. But most game do (see the yellow warning in the game feature listing of the steam store page)Thanks but I don't own those games on Steam so not sure how I'd check. You already answered the question though so we should be good or we are talking over each other. Old games might require login but the new ones don't;I was just curious about how they handle XBL achievements if that is the case or they ignore XBL achievements and just do Steam ones?
EDIT
Ok so steam achievements.
Sony will port them for more moneyhats. Not really surprised. Nixxes are the one's to get for PC ports. I really wonder how Square is gonna port their games now since Sony bought them.

I think the game would recommend at least a SATA SSD for a proper experience.
Well, yeah, I mean why else would they have purchased Nixxes? Lmao.
Not changing the design of the game itself, just how it manages data behind the curtains. You're essentially going from GBs of data to MB/s of data. I'm sure you can offset it with ram but that would require changing the design of the game and increasing the ram requirements. I'm still curious if it's even possible off a HDD with a modest amount of memory.
I suppose, but the main talking point of their studio has been how well they've handled PC ports, so it only makes sense.Pretty sure they can also offer support to hit deadlines. That's something that they have done before.

The way the game is designed, with level transitions happening at specific time and places, makes it perfectly possible to leverage more system memory to pre-load stuff for example.
I don't think 20 programmers will free any of their studio from porting to PC. They are just an edition to ICE team. Basically, creating tools for porting. Nothing else. The game designer and artists will still have to squeeze it to make something that work on PS5 and a Dell laptop. This is good because this frees up Sony studios and they won't have to worry about porting shit while trying to deliver games on time..
Guerrilla already wasted months trying to fix the mess that was the horizon pc port and who knows if that is the reason why horizon might not make 2021.
PlayStation and Nintendo exclusives are of a high enough demand they don't need to conform to Valve. PC players would happily use other clients to play these games.

I’d definitely be up for a Sony PC store with trophy integration/cross platform progression etc.
And this info was surely obvious, the only question is to what extent do they want their library on PC - will we see PS1/PS2/PS3 Sony games ported over?
Plus it makes people rage when they have to buy a game from any other digital store besides Steam's. "I'LL NEVER DOWNLOAD EPIC GAMES LAUNCHER, ETC."
It's weird.
Modern high-spec gaming PCs, which is the public this game would aim at, have 32 gb of RAM these days, or even 64 gb. Thats 2 - 4 times more than the PS5, not even counting VRAM that can unload some of the tasks that'd fall on the system memory of the console. In order to make everything seemless I'm guessing it's going to be a lot of data which would require a ton of ram. Not sure if your average consumer will have more than 16GBs in their system.
I've gone through the 5 stages of grief so i'm good with this now
Take my games you rancid pc fuckers

The thing that people don’t realise with Sony is that they follow. They don’t tend to innovate too often, they just follow the others. Not a knock against them either.Remember how PS Fanboys claimed Sony was not going to invest in PC, I love it when they are proved wrong.
Developing a game for the series x is essentially developing a pc version.Yeah that’s the downside. Cool that more Sony 1st party games will come to PC (and Steam Deck!) but I fear that the next Tomb Raider won’t be as awesome as previous games on PC. Unless Sony buy Square-Enix.
