Obviously this will kill of ResetEra but to be honest I don't think anything will beat the heights of NeoGAF. Even Era at its highs isn't anything special, due to cancel culture no one wants to engage. Back when NeoGAF was huge you had so many industry insiders, not just leakers but many big developers, publishers, journalists and etc. Of course you still get that now but it's nothing to how it was back then.

I'm sure back in the day when GAF was at its highs when you refused to sell it was worth more than 4.5 million. Obviously you were probably making nice money yearly anyways back then, probably still earn a bit with this forum how it is now but obviously not as much back it the heights of GAF. Hearing ResetEra selling for 4.5 million do you regret not selling NeoGAF for how much it was worth back then, and would you ever sell if you got an offer like that again.

I'm sure most people would struggle with this news pretty heavily, but EviLore seems like he's got a really good grasp of his emotions. Most of us are surely hoping for some childlike, petty response from him, but he has largely outgrown foolish and emotional reactions.

Anyone would be annoyed at having their work stolen and sold for profit, but when it comes down to purpose in life, money is a way to live your life's purpose more easily, not the end goal. I think Cerium took the easy payday and will end up miserable, EviLore has been working hard to make a forum that is rewarding for both users and himself. His team has adapted in ways that protect the forum (i.e. removal of the politics forum) while still doing what they can to allow the exchange of different opinions.

Of course I'm speaking out my ass and could be wrong, but him remaining mostly silent on the topic makes sense, as there's nothing to gain by getting all bitter about it.

Trust me this wasn't a post to him to get a reaction out of him that I can laugh at. I genuinely wanted to know his opinion as behind the scenes of all this interests me. I'm not sorry but this is all too good.

For fucking once does this whole movement of theirs fall flat on their face and you know what happens? There is no God to save them there is no safety net, there is just a realization that you are amongst a bunch of hypocrites and that those of the members who have rationale and common Sense are either banned or have left.

The internal politics and strife and lack of transparency on top of the stupidity and slide downward has finally caught up with them and it is so bittersweet to see. People can stick to the forum and this is not bigger than real life but by god, as a veteran forum person who has not gone through too many places, it is unbelievable to observe what has transpired and there is a degree of vindication for a form like this regardless of some of the negative things or stigmas that it has been associated with in the past.

We are in a world that is already too politically correct and you have to be quiet even when you have a respectful disagreement and it is heading in the wrong direction regardless of what race culture ethnicity I don't even give a damn. So I am glad to see a place like that have their "come'uppings" because in this woke cancel culture of ours today you don't ever see something rational like this happen to wake people the fuck up and not take such irrational sides and think a little bit more instead of just wanting to change the world according to their vision.
