Or if you haven't got one already would you no longer want one.

This is in a scenario where we don't have to second guess a game is going to be ported where every single PS5 game is guaranteed to be ported within 2 years.

The reason I put this scenario is I think it can potentially happen in the future and would like to know the poll results for this future.

Why I think may happen in the future is because of Days Gone. That game got ported around 2 years after its initial release. Yes God of War, Uncharted, Horizon took longer to get ported. But those games now have there engines all ported so the sequels should be quicker to port. Days Gone was in Unreal so that engine was already on PC. Naughty Dog has already consulted with Nvidia and they ain't making Uncharted port which leads me to believe Last of Us 2 port will happen as well as Factions on PC. We seen the Geforce Now leak that showed Gran Turismo 7, Returnal, Demons Souls and Ratchet and Clank. Yes they taken ages to port games but once the backlog has been ported I don't expect ports to take that long especially now that they have ramped up. Back then they didn't have a PC porting plan and now they do with even Nixxes being acquired and majority of there engines on PC.

No. I prefer couch gaming and would not build a gaming PC that is more expensive than a PS5 just for that.
In a few year i plan to get a new PC though, to be able to play some games that are not available on PS5. Still gonna squeeze some more years out of my current PC.

Yep definitely going to sell my PS5 and spend $1500 to play the same games that I could have played on the console I just sold, perfect logic.

It could be someone who had both a PC and PS5 and kept the PS5 for exclusives. There are other scenarios here. It could be someone planning to get a decent laptop for other things like editing etc.

You wish it was $1500. You would pay that just for a low to mid tier gpu today.

these are a dumb threads considering the consumer environment we are in today. Prices of computer components are just too high and the performance of a ps5 is pretty good to warrant a $2000 difference.

No, because I can resell or trade in my PS5 games. Besides that, physical console games tend to be cheaper than PC games.

... That last sentence hurts me, considering how cheap games used to get on steam/greenmangaming/etc. sales.😞

Where is the option of

No. I possibly will play it on my PS5 but I'm still not selling.

I already have a top of the line PC, so I would probably not get a PS5. It remains to be seen though-- exactly what games would we realistically expect to see ported over?

Although GoW is huge. Bloodborne is next.

I know of at least two people here who are crying every night

I"m not waiting years for these games. Even if they were day one, I'd own PS5 since I like to trophy hunt.

I don’t care how many Twitter followers you have, you do NOT disrespect the PS5 like that to pose for that picture - sarcastic or not.

Why? It is hilarious.

Crying over last-gen ports of games that have already been given for free to PS+ subscribers? I doubt it.

man, I learned in this pandemic that any day now i can die from anything - I'm not waiting 2-3 years to play a game i might potentially love.

It depends on the person for example I didn't play God of War until a few months ago too many games and massive backlog to care about day 1 purchase.

If I had a pc would not rush out to buy a ps5 that’s for sure.

Ps5 gonna be cheaper option for most people

The bottom line for most is that they are either console gamers or they are PC gamers. I think those of us who are both are probably the minority.

For me it's not about console or pc. I just want access to all the games and if PC can have all Xbox exclusives, Ps5 exclusives and emulate Switch then that's the system for me.

Right now, yeah.

I got all my PC parts at cost. My main PC cost me ~$2250. My other PC cost me about ~$1550. Even looking at the cheaper of my two PC's, it would have cost less to just buy a PS5, XSX, and Switch.

I've toyed with the idea, but I need to play my large ps4 collection as well so I kinda need ps5. And, I mostly buy physical games which you can't do on PC.

Also from time to time PC gets bad ports, or doesn't get a console game port, so a ps5 is nice to have.

The second Sony makes console that isn't BC with ps4 and 5 physical games is when I go full pc and Nintendo.

No. If it is a good game I want to play it now, not later (once everything nock and cranny has been analyzed and uploaded to the interweb taking away any joy of community discovery). Further, the PS5 (and XB1X) are closed systems that developers (particularly first part developers like SANTA MONICA or 343/BETHESDA) can tailor bespoke experiences for, instead of crossing their fingers and hoping their game runs on the myriad configurations out there in the Personal Computing Wilds. Finally, I know every game will have controller support.

Are people on the Xbox selling their Xboxes?
Hell, PC makes xbox one almost useless and it's why the last console I bought was 360.

Well I take that back, I will get a series console for that sweet xbox and xbox 360 emulation. But for native games it's 99% pointless if you have PC and PlayStation.

I’m not interested in most Sony first party so PC is the better option for me. I can just grab the one title I want to play in a couple years. The FOMO doesn’t phase me. If I was hardcore into GoW or TLOU I’d probably just go with a PS5 for the convenience.

People that post on here most likely have more than one set of console anyway or a PC to go with a console.

I thought about my collection I got free from PSN Plus as well as bought. It's not massive but still large. I realised that I can get most of those games on PC for dirt cheap. Or there are games realistically I'm never gonna play anyways. So because of that I'm not letting the ecosystem hold me back from migrating to PC.

No but this will likely be my last generation buying as PlayStation console as a result. it's not a "if" at this point. This is Jim's way forward. It's happening. In terms of AAA PlayStation games at least.

I am a PC and console player for many years.
At the moment it's really hard to build a PC so PS5 was really smart choice.

But to be honest if most Sony exclusives will land on PC then there is no reason for me to keep PS5.
