I thought turn based games get ugly and boring you can put smart enemies with regular combat, more aggressive it’s like comparing men to children. Find a game with better combat than God of War yeah it’s impossible.
To make a small defense for the MMO genre, the meat and potatoes that require extreme strategy, are their raids. That's one of the few things I'll defend for MMOs because that genre has it's own problems, including everyone copying WoW's formula for the past 15 years.Except real time systems never are. They're ways just mindless hack and slashes or mmo combat. If anything developers always dumb that shit down to make it as "accessible" as possible.
I much prefer skill-based action and generally don't like turn-based, but I DO like InXile's games enough to put up with turn-based gameplay. I'm also OK with Mass Effect and Dragon Age combat which are sort of a turn-based/real-time hybrid.I think Wasteland 3 would have been pretty shit in real time
Because you're a spineless dimwit.Turn based is one of the ways to make me sleep really fast.
Being turn-based during combat is basically the ONLY thing that BG3 does better than BG2 so far.Baldurs Gate 3 being turned based killed the franchise for me.
There are definitely other evolutionary paths to Gambit system/XII’s ADB. Eh… I would say very loosely did it try to take ingredients from Gambits and wrap it all in one (as sophisticated as possible) which they labeled as Paradigm. 12 is more hands-on in that you can get real specific with if-thens whereas 13 is more removed and streamlined. I prefer XII though.13 is the evolved version If you think of each paradigm role as a preconfigured gambit tree, they just didn't explore deeper in that regard while also suffered with pacing problems.
