Jez Corden suggests 'Indiana Jones' wont be exclusive. Contested by Nick, admits old info 'could be wrong'

They might not have a choice.
Might be a clause to use the license.

I get that, they will honor those or pay to break them if possible. But once they are done they will leverage all of their first party in the war for customers/gamepass subs. It may be a while but it's 100% the plan, regardless of whatever BS the feed the press and FCC.
Content is king, whoever has the best/most draws the most customers. If they control the platform as well, less revenue sharing. I also foresee a portable/TV hybrid in their future, switch style, same approx. horsepower as series S (2024?)

I don't think you understand what I am saying.

I want it to be exclusive. Its good for competition. Sony already have tons of 3rd person action games. Wouldn't surprise me if it's multiplat though. Disney probably want it to reach as many people as possible so it wouldn't make sense to cut off the PlayStation install base.

Everyone moneyhats and Microsoft is not innocent, lol.
When did I say MS is innocent? They are guilty of that too.

My point is that, they don't want to lose those games to timed exclusives.

Bethesda games are much important to them, than the likes of final fantasy and Japanese games. Considering bethesda 1st party games history with MS. Losing that is much worst than anything to them.

Minecraft on all system makes sense, because of the nature of the game. Its targeted towards kids. The marketability of the game, allows it to be on all devices around the world.

Irrelevant. More often than not, these games stay multiplat as part of the acquisition deal. Bungie is a good example.

I'll be doing the same when Sony follows their footsteps. My post history will back me up as well. I even want games that I don't care for, to come to my platform of choice, just because I know someone out there will enjoy it.

Bungie? and your comment is pretty hilarious

Exactly. Look at Minecraft and other's MS games released on switch and PlayStation. They don't care what you play their games on, which I see as not only consumer friendly, but a smart decision from a business perspective. Either way, they are benefiting from your money vs only being able to play this game on this specific hardware.

Which is why Starfield is not coming to PS consoles, right?

At launch. Deathloop and Ghostwire didn't release on Xbox at launch but it doesn't mean they'll never be released there. No one knows as of right now because pretending something is exclusive while a version on the other console is already planed happens all the time.

Its Indiana Jones, who gives a fuck really. Its only going to be relevant because it will viewed as a successor to Uncharted on Xbox.
Lol Indiana Jones is the original source for Tomb Raider, Uncharted, Rick Dangerous, Spelunky, La Mulana etc etc. The last thing it will be viewed as is a successor to Uncharted, unless you’re 15 years old. And we don’t even know what kind of game it is, could be a first person shooter, metroidvania, RPG, point and click adventure, puzzle game. All we know is that the original Indy is back. Finally!

It has been pretty much confirmed, from leaks and Bethesda staff, that Starfield is not coming to PS consoles.

No need to run some damage limitation campaign, it is what it is. But please lets not pretend we're all unbiased around acquisitions and criticism, like DonJuanSchlong DonJuanSchlong did.

What are you talking about lol. I feel like some of y'all are on a smear campaign against me. When one loses the debate, the next one jumps in their place (or next alt's place?). I'm guessing it's your turn now?

When I simply say, "I wish that all gamers, had access to each and every game out there, regardless of hardware." Why is it that no Xbox, Nintendo, or PC gamers come at my neck for saying that? Why is it only the Sony Diehards? EVERY. SINGLE. TIME? Someone explain?

We don't know if starfield may or may not release on PS. It could be like that one FF game that supposedly might release on Xbox one day.

Maybe, they wouldn't say otherwise if they had plans for a PS release down the line anyway.

Do you know for sure that it won't release later on PS? Why the hurry to make the call now?

There are countless precedents like this and I see no reason to take these companies at their words.

You can like licenses even if you think they aren't big or big anymore what is this bullshit parallel?I liked F zero but it is less popular than it was, just like Indiana jones so sure it may gain back popularity if a new movie and a new game come out in a short interval but to say Indianna jones is as big as it used to be is false...Though in your example I really don't get Spiderman, because there was the Tobey spidey, the garfiel spidey and now the holland spidey, and with games it works even less since no spiderman games sold better than the PS4 version and Miles morales....

Edit for the record the best Spidey is
Garfield
as you can all see here

With the spiderman example, I noted that it was not the huge ip it is now before 2002, the release year of the first raimi film. Prior to that it was a Saturday morning cartoon. But now it's one of the biggest ips in the world.

I'm not saying that Indiana Jones will ever be that again, but there is a reason they're still making Indiana Jones movies 40 years after the first one released. It is a huge ip. A game has a ton of potential. And there is a new movie releasing at some point soon. It could certainly have a revival.

I'm skeptical about the next movie (look at the last 2 Indiana jones movie and Harrisson Ford is getting too old).So it is far from being as popular as it once was.Maybe it has potential but so does every IP in the right hands.

And again, I'm not suggesting it'll be as big as it once was, but it has a ton of potential with a new game and movie releasing. They've been making movies and TV shows about this ip for 40 years. It has staying power.

There's also been a lot of shitty indiana jones games, just like superheroe games, they've been making them since the begginning of gaming yet only a handful of them are good.

Bethesda was up for sale. That was a chance.

But Deathloop and ghost wire tokyo were the start. If bethesda weren't up for sale, you can bet that Sony would have secured themselves for starfield.

Bungie makes live service games, which makes money from all systems. Less system means less money. That is not a good example.

IIRC even his first info was about the game being multiplatform.
His info was that it was exclusive. Then the recent info changed his mind to multiplatform.

So I would take it with grain of salt.

Only way we can know it, is if they give us the trailer for the platforms.

So you want to ignore Deathloop and ghost wire tokyo right?

What do you think would have happened, if bethesda weren't for sale.

This was a purchase, MS wouldn't have let it go.

MS owns Deathloop and Ghostwire and PS only paid for timed exclusivity, that's why they're coming to Xbox... We already know Starfield wont be on PlayStation in the same way we know God of War won't be on Xbox.

But Sony has been saying they want to put their games on more platforms, so maybe God of War coming to Xbox is a possibility.

Yea, but their multiplatform strategy is clearly changing. PS games coming to Xbox in the future is definitely a possibility.

Which is more than likely going to be limited to MLB, Destiny, and whatever other games Bungie makes. I don't see major franchises like God of War coming to Xbox anymore than I one day see Halo running on PlayStation.

And most of them are shovelware. When was the last time someone attempted to make a big budget Indiana Jones game? You could make that same argument for Spiderman. They've been making Spiderman games since the beginning of gaming and most of them were trash before Activision made a few decent ones 20 years ago and then it was garbage again until Sony made a good one in 2018.

Yes and no. Any platform holder putting all of their I.Ps on the other platform would automatically make their platform redundant.(too many platforms in there I think)

So yes Sony and Microsoft will both have some games going multi. But they will not be making all of their games multi. Unless they are planning to leave the hardware business, and are happy to give the other a 30% cut on all of their software salesMTXs everything.

GaaS games will probably appear on multiple platforms like you said. The only question are those single player games. There’s a much lower chance if those appearing on multiple platforms. I wouldn’t expect Ragnarok or Gears 6 to appear on the competitions platform anytime soon if ever.

P.S I’m only talking about consoles though. Neither platform holder owns PC.

A comprehensive collection of the Gears of War series would probably be welcome for the PlayStation audience.. up to and including 6 when that launches. I would just love to have more people to play with.

That and Sea of Thieves.

Could maybe be done without hurting either platform brand. If Sony really are going multiplatform with their future gaas production. Might as well be something from Xbox going the other way.

In regards to Starfield we know for sure, it's an Xbox exclusive. Has MS ever released an Xbox exclusive and then ported it to PS later? The only two future Bethesda games I can see being on PS are Indy because of the contract and whatever new MMO Zenimax Online is working on. They've made it clear that Bethesda will be making Xbox exclusives, but Activision is obviously a different story. It'll be interesting to see what Activision/Blizzard games end up as Xbox exclusive and which ones stay multiplatform.

Sony games won't end up on xbox. The only way I can see is bungie. No other PS IP is touching xbox at all.

Mlb the show isn't PS ip. The license belong to mlb. So they decide where they put their games on. Sony makes the game. And have the rights for the code.

Again, it could be anything, exactly like Uncharted or Wolfenstein or Monkey Island or whatever else. We don’t know anything about this game, certainly not what you’re saying at the end.
