Short Teaser for Sonic: Frontiers (More info next month)

If they are using PSO2 New Genesis engine then this could be really incredible.

PSO2: New Genesis platforming, combat, open world and movement and feel is amazing.

The rumor is they will have Sonic Unleashed/ Generations daytime like stages too. A game that plays like PSO2 combat but more sped up in the open world then shifts to unleashed/Generations stages has so much potential.

Could be good, or could be asscheeks. I'm assuming once Sonic Team introduces fifty playable characters, something is going to go awry.

Still, I'm cautiously optimistic about it.

Whew, does that ever look like an Unreal Engine landscape...

So far, it looks like one of those "Sonic Looks AMAZING in UE5!!" demos. Actually, it kind of looks like a MOD of the Kite demo from a while back.

Yuck, I wish they would stop trying to blend realistic environments with cartoon characters. Mario Odyssey did the same thing and the result is poor.

Mario Odyssey had style to it. The game still looked like a Mario game, even when you were in a city or jungle. This, I don't understand yet. Where are the TVs and palm trees and sunflowers?

I’m not sure I would agree….

That looks... better than I ever expected graphically.

It's Sonic, there will be jank. But you can bloody well bet that I'll be buying it like I do every Sonic game (Nintendo exclusive games aside because never properly owned Nintendo consoles).
Really hope Sega pull it out of the bag for the gameplay reveal.

Quietly excited.

Looks like Sonic 06 in terms of "combat" or whatever the hell this is lmao

This mix of realistic setting with Sonic is not gonna end well.

This looks and sounds very janky to me, but of course I always hope Sonic can get a decent game because I know he has a ton of fans. That scene where he's running in that wheel looks incredibly Xenochronicles-like to me. The art, color, etc.

I want it to be good, but I don't know why I've not good vibes from that short gameplay. The realistic style feel a bit weird IMHO, but I want to see more before judge. Please Sonic Team, don't fuck this one.

I expect this game to be swimming in 7’s. Its jank will be undeniable, but it will be at the least competent and it will be lauded for trying to be ambitious
This is coming from the director of beloved classics such as Sonic Lost World and Sonic Forces, but should be liked by fans and sell well i expect to see some 8s at least

The people complaining about a realistic look must have never played Adventure and Adventure 2 lol.

I played both of them. Adventure 1 was less than ok and SA2 was garbage, setting was less of a bother at the time because we didn't have the level of graphical realism we have right now, which is a total mismatch nowadays.

As a counter argument, there are games who implemented a certain level of realistic visual that looks pretty well, as Danjin44 Danjin44 showed.

Its a fresh take for the series and looks quite purty.

But personally i wouldn't want another game in that style because it feels like im playing The Last of Kirby, way too many mundane earth streets

I dont think you need to worry about that, every Kirby has its own "twist", they dont really do same thing twice as far as I know.
