Yeah, Dan really needs someone like Jeff to bounce off of. Jeff had the right mix of indulging his insanity but making fun of it as well. Other people like Brad would just get pissy. I have very little hope for Dan's second run on Giant Bomb. It's a sinking ship that can't be saved.

We have a small flat and we both work. 30-50-100 years ago families were bigger and grandparents or family took care of the kids while parents worked.
Now it's 2022 and if you don't have enough money for a caretaker, having a kid is not for everyone...
I see all these people in pain who are telling themselves they are happy because what else are they going to do?

It seems more clear from reading impressions online that Gerstmann was canned. His Patreon and everything else feels very last moment. With this in mind, no way I can support the new GB with views. I cannot separate JG from GB without the 2 parties being amicable and that doesn't seem likely.

But look at it realistically. Kids are very difficult to take care if you both work.
When I speak to my parents, grandparents etc, they always lived together. So parents could leave for work and grandparents took care of kids and helped to rise. it was like that since ancient times. Only now, young people live alone in a different place. It's an anomaly for both parents to be sleep deprived for 2-4 years.
I am not sure where you are from but I am from Poland - the country if falling apart, my flat is quite new but only close to 50m sq. And we earn about 4-5 times less than west...
I am an engineer and I am doing good for myself but not good enough to have money for daycare and a child... at least comfortably.

Yeah but he is getting old and clearly has tunnel vision only for games he is interested in as per gb podcasts the last few years. He needs someone or two that are brave and spunky enough to challenge his views on modern gaming. The klepek/ austin era was the best because of that. They didnt back down much from him. Ignoring the encroacing activism, the discussion that crew had was actually interesting.

I was a listener early on but once gamergate hit I started to see these clowns' true colours. Stopped listening a while ago. Don't miss any of them. Last time I tried to listen (maybe just after Ryan passed away) all I heard was guys who hated everything and were cynical about every fucking game. Was boring to listen to and sounded like an echo chamber of bullshit. Not too sure I really give a shit that Jeff is leaving and don't care if he starts something new. Lost me a long time ago.
