Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?
His first PS5 trophy was Astro's this March. So either he had a console since launch like he pretended to and just never turned it on, or he just got one in March.

Wow if that's the case, that was some grade A projection all this time :D

I mean, this alarm did come the same day Starfield got delayed. The whole premise was started on SonyToo™

Still a fun thread and will be a gold mine once we know.

Starfield's delay was written on the wall the day that release date was announced

This is different

That is not the point of my post. This thread was made in response to Starfield's delay. Nothing more, but those who operate in the manufacturing of branded concern™, will pretend it's all in the most noble of reasons. Yet that concern only seems to apply to one brand with them.

I don’t get it. People were using that date as confirmation that Starfield would come out this year. We don’t even have an actual date for God of War yet just a release window for this year.
I never thought Starfield would make it

And i don't care about the game either

I'm concerned because i want to play the game this year, and a release date to confirm it

Couldn't care less about Starfield

I was one that thought Starfield would come this year. That was a shock to me, but Redfall might be the bigger shock since we've seen some gameplay of it.

I thought starfield would never be delayed because it was following Bethesda previous way of doing things. Also Microsoft had nothing else this year so they would want to make sure starfield makes it.

I can't see god of war being delayed because it was already pushed from 2021 to 2022. No way they'll push it back again. Especially when devs from the studio have said its coming this year. If there was a delay, Cory barlog would have said it on that update video from a couple weeks ago. Why string us along?

I'm pretty shocked by the Starfield delay myself as well, especially with them ramping up exposure (albeit still in teases and developer convos.) However, if a game isn't ready, it isn't ready. You can crack the whip all you want, but that won't make the beasts of burden accomplish the impossible.

I can't see God of War being delayed either, and all signs point to it being on time for a release this year... still, it did just happen to somebody else's big tentpole game, things happen. So I have no expectation of it missing this year and yet it is what it is if it happens.

(*We also don't know yet that Microsoft has nothing this year; last year, they sprung Forza Horizon 5 as a surprise announcement in June at the same event that is coming up on the 12th. So, maybe they have that again? Or maybe not?)
(**Sony so far doesn't have anything written on the books for this year either, even GoW isn't written in stone ala this thread, although there are plenty of rumors, particularly of TLoU products to be announced.)

Didn’t get a chance to vote but my money is on 2022. Seems like all
The tweets and Reddit posts from those working on the game that it’s probably in its finishing touches.

Usually when an exact date is given and there begins to be monthly developer vlogs that are characteristic of a 'ramp up' period, the logical speculation is that the game WOULD BE releasing ...apparently on Gaf though the logic should've been the other way around and we all should've seen this coming?

They revealed the release date too early

More than a year before it came out? It always felt strange to me

Well I usually make my predictions based off the amount of gameplay that’s shown. Usually the more the better having devs just talk about things isn’t the same thing IMO.

I hate to ask but why do you own so many Switches?
I bought myself a Switch and one for my kids to share at launch, since I knew I'd never get to use mine otherwise.

Then, we all got Switch Lites, so the kids would all have their own, plus I just liked having a more portable one.

Then, my oldest and myself got OLEDs when those came out.

As to why we haven't sold some we aren't using still, I don't have a good reason.

Ok that makes sense. I thought you had a massive family.

One one hand....imagine a game getting added to the database being an oops. As in the game must be ready, just no set date yet.

But...let me start checking what avatar I want to use...just in case....

oh shit, this is getting interesting again. last minute development troubles? maybe they push back the console version so the PC version is ready for a simultaneous release? 🤞
What’s this obsession with getting simultaneous releases? What do we gain with having a finished PS5 release delayed to be released along a PC port?

more hype among PC users due to a day 1 PC port, resulting in increased sales on the platform... just a thought...

Doubt it. When rockstar don't even do this due to double dippers what makes you think Sony will all of a sudden for new releases when most their games have been 2-4yrs old? Old collections, remakes/remasters and GaaS I can see but I very much doubt there will be a GoW simultaneous release when there has been no other simultaneous releases.

Much more money for Sony and that could mean more games for you in the future.

rockstar didn't release stuff simultaneously because they always want to make PC versions that are tailored to PC ever since their GTA4 disaster.

a game like God of War doesn't need any special adjustments for PC

Looks like Last of Us part 1 for PS5/PC release is coming in September to replace God of war and that gives Santa monica more time to polish. My only concern is if it slips into 2023 competition for Q1 2023 is insane, and they are going to be ramping up PSVR2.

I hope God of war comes out December. That would carry them over for new year, christmas, and into early 2023 where they would not have much competition software wise for sales. But its possible rumors were true of them up till this past year still axing what was going to be included and what wasn't.

Team 2022 in shambles

It's you who has been in shambles, making God of war threads, and concern trolling. The fact that Sony literally has a backup plan with LAST OF US REMAKE part 1 coming September for PS5/PC which I assume comes with Factions and has crossplay. Shows you how much better Sony is at curation of slates. Literally they have a backup big game that will sell shit tons of units.

On top of if its good Forspoken.

The same can not be said about other platforms.

But please keep on concern trolling.

What do you mean by special adjustments? Why wouldn't Sony want that too (time to make a decent port and not delay console version)? Especially as a console-first strategy benefits them more than it does a company like Rockstar.

The placeholder date is still 2022.
Some ppl need something to help them sleep at night.

Now I want it to release on Dec 31, 2022 for maximum chaos.

Even if it releases in Jan, yeah some of us lost the bet, but that means the game was mainly done.

You do know it said September 30th before. I never thought it would come out September or earlier. We’ll see what happens.

Edit!: if anything we will find out really soon.

You are right because I dont troll all that much. And Im not a concern whore making Threads from knee jerk reactions about a unreleased game.

Sony has had a very strong year, Strong SOP, and looks like Strong reaction to their new service. Every youtuber who's pro xbox like Defining Duke which i do like, have been trying to deflect so fucking hard because lets face it Microsoft is not doing well managing software.

But no one wants to admit that is the case.

If a game size gets posted before or after any official date, Team 2022 might can relax.

As of right now....whew lawd....lol.

I do hope this means Ragnorak news soon tho.
