I saw this thread on the other site and really wanted to take the temperature of neogaffers. Specifically, Playstation only gamers.

Did the Starfield showcase convince you PS only gamers, to pick up a Series S/X to play Starfield?

Was leaning toward it until I saw the showcase. Looks too much like Fallout to me. Im still interested in the game but it doesn’t look like a system seller to me.

I’ll probably need this game to end up being better than it looks, and for Avowed to be a GOTY type thing for me to bite on another console.

I will buy a Series S, for Starfield among other things.
- First for Gamepass, a good collection of games for me (Big Fan of Fallout and Elderscroll) and for my kids, some indies and other titles, that i don't have to buy
- Starfield? Of course, got my attention and to be able to play it on day one in a cheap service it's a no-brainer.
- Sure, my Ps5 will be always my main console, but Xbox it's doing things in the right way I think.

Based on what was shown.

I don't fall into this category as I'm PC/PS5/Switch, but the recent Starfield showing looked like it will be fun, but that each piece had been done better in other games.

I really need to see more, but it felt kind of hollow.

That's what I did. More than worth it for such a cheap entry price. Fun to not have to worry about missing things.

I did buy one a couple of weeks ago to go with my PS5, but not just for Starfield, mainly for game pass. Thanks to cloud gaming , you don't even have to have a Xbox to play it

I've never been a bethesda fan, but I wasn't impressed with what was shown at all. Looks last gen. AI was dumb. Really basic space combat. I personally don't care about building outposts or ships so that did nothing for me either.
Maybe I'll play it on my PC one day, but I doubt it.

I’m mainly a PS user but the idea of Fallout in space is a huge boner generator for me. My Series X will be all over this day 1.

Between that, Forza and Diablo 4 I think my PS5 will be parked for a while.

As someone who is PS/PC owner... No.

Nothing about the footage lived up to the "GOTY" or the "Game of the Generation" hype. I honestly wish I didn't listen to all that hyperbole, cause it painted my view on the footage in a negative light. Is it my fault for listening? Yea, sure. I had my doubts, but I secretly wished it would blow me away... and it just didn't. I will likely still pick it up on PC, as the ship building looks fun. But, it's one of those Bethesda games but in space... and that concept appealed to me like nothing FallOut has for years.

Honestly, if they created a FallOut 76 style game for Starfield, that would probably be dope.

EDIT: My bad, just realized it said "PS only gamer" that I am not, so disregard.

Bethesda games, for me, are fun but also frustrating for their technical issues. So, no, Starfield is not enough for me to consider picking up a different console.

As a whole with Game Pass? Extraordinary tempting. Just Starfield even if GOAT? No way. There's no one singular game that would drive me to buy a console for - Microsoft's Flight Simulator has probably came the closest. Hopefully it's a killer game though for those waiting for it's release.

Uh?. You don't need a console to play Starfield. This is the whole point of The Xbox Vision.

Xbox Stream Stick and Samsung TVs. Baby.
He is asking Playstation only owners, Starfield(and other games shown at the event) isn't coming to PlayStation, and not sure everyone wants to play a Cloud version

If we are to be honest Starfield will with a great deal of probability be one of the most played game of the next 5 or 6 years and more. It has always happened like this with Bethesda games, All people complains and they all end up loving the game with bugs and everything else because the truth is that few devs build immersive worlds like them.

I'm pretty excited for it, but I'm hoping for them to release a good high quality streaming stick so I can sub to gamepass. The idea of dropping $550 on one game... I'd rather wait a few years.
