Alex definitely is. Brad and Vinnie try to dial it back a bit. Hard to listen to at times.

All 3 are very woke, Alex proudly support AOC and brags about her being his congresswoman at times. Vinnie and Brad try to be diplomatic. I think Brad has an understanding being from the South, Vinnie just tries to be respectful. Alex was raised in Cali and sounds like it, and having an opposing point of view is a mental disorder.
To be fair, they do not talk about politics much, and you know their point of view when they do. They spoke about the Mass shootings recently and their podcast has timestamps that I just skipped over because I don't care what they have to say.

Jeff rambling is just what he does. Whenever I checked in on the bombcast livestream it was always Jeff going on about something and the rest just listening and nodding. Dude can talk for hours.
It's like Bill Burr's podcast. Bill Burr rambles for two hours on whatever topic comes to mind.

I swear some of you on here talk about 'being woke' and politics far more than any podcast I listen to. There is very little, if any, politics talk on Nextlander and that's why I enjoy it. I haven't been frequenting the Gaf much of late because of life but everytime I do glance at a thread, one of you are obsessing about who is 'woke' and who isn't.

I actually liked the first episode so much that i subscribed to the rss feed, looking forward to what the future holds. dude has tons of knowledge and can ramble on without it getting boring. Suits him way better than babysitting 3-4 other members that dont even like games.

Excited to see Jeff just do whatever he wants without feeling obligated to play new releases. Jeff loves retro stuff and has an insane amount of knowledge on retro stuff.

Also, like I've already said - I enjoy Nextlander but I always feel that they can't wait to get out of there when they've been streaming for an hour or so.
Jeff, meanwhile, is still going. He's definitely still got the passion for video games and I've criticized him on here in the past for 'falling out of love' with the industry. It might just be (to no-one's surprise) that he just hated modern day Giant Bomb and working for corporate.

There was a while there where Jeff felt jaded and didn't align with my thoughts at all but his last few streams and podcasts while he is by himself have been super refreshing.

Real late to the party one this one. I tried to get back into GB after Brad, Vinnie, and Alex left and it wasn't bad for a while. But the past few months have been a scatter-brained mess. I can't parse what the hell they're going on about most of the time. Jeff had checked out weeks ago. With him gone, there's no reason to stick around GB at all.
I still love Jeff's content. He's the only person in games media whose opinion I trust. He just has this way of finding things in games that define their experiences for better or for worse. Even when I disagree with his opinion, I'll at least come around to his point of view.
As for Nextlander, while I like the nostalgia hit, there's no way I'm subjecting myself to their political bullshit. Alex especially. Anyone in games media really. No more lectures from these idiots.

Late reply, sorry, but I'm of the same mind. The only saving grace is that Ryan's sense of humor would have never survived this cancel culture climate. He would have gotten shit canned eventually. I'm glad I never had to see that at least.

Think Jeff needs a bit more time to figure out his format but teething issues are gonna be normal when you start a solo podcast almost completely out of nowhere. Still, Jeff on his own is more interesting to me than everyone else on GB combined, so really interested to see where he goes with it.

I will say, from my understanding you also won’t get banned by mods here for having a left or right leaning opinion. That’s pretty decent for me, even if I have to wade past some incels or whatever’s from time to time, at least we can see all opinions.
Back on topic. I kind of enjoy how poorly GB is doing without Jeff ATM. He’s clearly a core part of whatever. I prefer him to have a couple other people and not be solo so maybe he could lure someone from one of their current gigs into being a regular on his schtick.

Giant Bomb were/are notorious for never listening to their community.
Most obvious example was how their GotY shows were infamous because of how combative they could get which always led to funny moments, and then they absolutely destroyed it by changing the format to make sure no one had their feelings hurt (conveniently Abby’s second year there, weird!).
I don’t know if Nextlander listens to Patrons, but, they also don’t allow comments on their videos, so, should show you how they feel about building a community.

Jeff makes good money and does not need to get out often. In Jeff's latest podcast, he talked about going to LA to play some games with people around. Its not like hes shutting in forever, he just prefers being in his house and not taking everyday commutes. If I had the money I would work from my home just to avoid traffic altogether.
Also, its his decision, that's his business. Whatever you or I think of it is of no consequence.
