God of War is a long going serie, TLOU was just one successful game when they did the big thing. I don’t see how the IPs are comparable at all.
Well thats the thing, 20 million plus units sold wasn't even enough for them to keep a character as the face a IP for many, many sequels going forward, why would they care about a character in a IP that has already had their time to shine and move units?
Its even more likely cause the world of God Of War doesn't even view death the same way, so i don't see that Sony gives a shit, they allow their teams to have lots of freedom and that means allowing for a new character to take over and move on. The fact that it was even rebooted like this shows how much creative freedom Sony gives, so I don't buy that anyone is safe under this publisher to move units or something.
So its a long running series alright, with MORE then enough titles to cement the character, those games will always be there and he will be in Valhalla ready to give guidance to his son. Understand I'm not comparing the IP, I'm showing the publisher is the same, they allow freedom and if the story is that he gets it in this title, then so be it. We've seen many IP under Sony where a new character shows up or something, I don't buy they care that much about any of that considering the level of freedom they allow.
A Jak 4 was 100% allowed to be stopped in favor of a new IP, if Sony really, really..REALLY cared about selling a character more then the world, they wouldn't allow for Uncharted to exist, they would just have them make Jak by force, have them keep The Last Of Us 2 the same as 1 or something. Its why I even stated that Ghost 2 may not even be about Jin, it may not even be on Tsushima, that shit might be called Ghost Of Osaka lol Ghost Of Sendai lol They are more open to allowing the team to move on, in a IP like God Of War, we've seen dead ass 3 generations of this almost 4, him going wouldn't even be a shock at this point, its like "oh shit again?" lol
