New Nvidia RTX 4000 Adola Lovelace Cards Announced | RTX 4090 (1599$) October 12th | RTX 4080 (1199$)

absolutely monstrous gains. 45-80% increase in performance over 3090Ti

and this is doing it at lower power consumption. I expected these huge cards to use more power proportional to their increase in size but they use less.

I wasn't able to get a FE on best buy or nvidia. Any know from past experience if the FE cards ever come back in stock or I gotta try my luck with the 4080 fe launch? Honestly, just want a FE card to check it off my bucket list.
They go back in stock but it is random. They also only allocate so many units to a given store. It is overly complicated and bullshit because unless you are shopping a popular store, you might not see any. Trying for a 4090 when the 4080 launches is a good option. Try for both if you want because maybe only one will show for you.

Best buy has several hundred stores and they probably have much less of each card for a drop. You basically lost the lottery a week ago when they decided your store sucks.

I have a 850 watt PSU. All the AIB cards are asking for 1000 watts. The FE is asking for 850. I would really rather not wire up another PSU. Think it’s worth waiting to find an FE or should I just get a new PSU.
I think the hardware unboxed guy used an 850 watt psu I think, he said something about not having to uprade from his 850 watt psu at some point in his review.

It was at the end of the Gigabyte Gaming OC review he mentioned that 850 was good enough for even that model and overflowing as well.

I'm going to try the 1000w Platinum and see how it goes before popping in the 1300w

Still no reviews of the MSI Gaming Trio. Sigh. Hope it's good... on the way to me now...

I wouldn't worry. In fact, I'm relieved to see it's shipping with a 3 x 8 pin power adapter. Less ugly bullshit in my case is always a win.

Can't seem to find any reviews of the MSI Trio, its all for the Suprim line which you couldn't even find anywhere.

Found one:

Interesting! I'm surprised to see your ram config. I heard if you're going to mix manufacturers the ram has to be the same speed and timings, but perhaps that was incorrect. Do you ever run into any issues?

CPU: Ryzen 5800x3D
GPU: Zotac Amp Extreme 4090
Ram: 64gb Gskill Trident Royal DDR4 3600mhz
Mobo: Strix 570-E
CPU Cooler: Noctua DH-15
PSU: 1200w
Case: Fractal Torrent
Storage: 2 Internal gen 4 NVME 2gig + 2 through a PCI port

Nice setup! I like that 64GB of sweet trident royal :) I also sported the same ancient NH-D14 for more than 10 years across multiples builds. Noctua are just the best IMO :) Finally, I am currently looking for a new case and the Torrent is among the short list. I've heard that the Phanteks P500a might be a better choice for me though as I am rocking the Galahad 360 and the Torrent is apparently best when coupled with an air cooler.

Anyway, mixing manufacturers does not matter. As long as you're running the exact same speed and timings on every stick, you're good to go. Of course, those timings have been carefully picked after hours of stability tests!

Why ? It wasn’t really hard to get . I am assuming next shipment it will be available in all stores in the next couple of days . Maybe not FE but yeah
Everything was gone in minutes where I’m at and now they’ve removed delivery dates for the next batch. It’s the 3080 launch all over again. Haven’t checked if scalpers has started selling them at higher prices yet though.
Edit: Wrong! Actually says next shipment comes late October now!

I have a different one - the Phanteks P600s and it’s fabulous. Just can’t complain about it at all. Marvelous case.

Well I scored a Zotac. I was too impatient to try waiting again for an FE and failing so I pulled the trigger on their site. Odd having it go live at 5:40 AM but it did and the order went through. Zotac now charges tax :( outside of CA but shipping was free so it came in at just under 1700.

Sounds like a great build, but my condolences on the bolded part. And I say that as someone who has been stupidly loyal to that fucking company.

I've never had problems with Gigabyte motherboards performance or stability wise across multiple generations. Plus, there about the only manufacturer where you can still have 2 physically usable pci-e slots despite how big the 3090 and 4090s are. What kind of problems did you experience?

Just installed my TUF 4090. Anyone have a suitable 'smug-face' Gif?

Looks like mines ready to ship, upgrading some other stuff (so I can make a 3rd pc with left over parts for my brother). Hope everything arrives by next wed.

Nice. One thing I noticed is the GPU brace Asus supplied is too tall, so I'm ordering another from Amazon (and you will need a GPU brace for these monsters...)

Which game? Cyberpunk 2077 fps nearly doubled for me at the streetkid bar intro.
Cyberpunk gets me about 20fps more than I got with a 3090
20-30% over what?
a 3090, dragons dogma with my enb I go from 60fps to around 90fps. other games not so much, like 60fps to 75-80fps

Just ran furmark though, funny. I beat the 3080's 1080p score running 4k

Instability with overclocking, incredible bios issues caused from Gigabyte ineptitude, security vulnerabilities forcing people into semi-broken TPM functionality.

Maybe it’s just AM4, but then I look at their Intel forums…

Not played much Cyberpunk 2077 yet(waiting for more fixes), but I'm coming from a 3090 TI and that bar scene nearly doubled in fps for me with a 4090. This is in ultrawide 5120x1440p. Will see how it fares in 4k/8k on my QLED later on.

Negligible. Heard a really faint whine, like, very faint while benchmarking in Speedway loop with a significant overclock.

B benno Clearance is still ok for the 8x PCI 4.0 slot at the bottom and I could still insert 2 additionnel NVME SSD on the motherboard without having to remove the card.

Looks like the card is sagging a little in that picture.

can someone try it see if this is normal. Cyberpunk ultra raytracing preset @ 4k. I'm sure I was getting 65fps with 3090

Interesting that some 4090s come with 3x8pin -> 12 pin adapter instead of the 4x8pin ones like the Founders Edition...

450W Max.
We have seen that upping the Wattage basically does nothing to performance this generation, and even on the 4x8 pins connecting just 3 works just as good.

In the event I get a 4090 or 4080Ti, I for sure will only be using 3x8 pin for 450W.
I never want the card going over that.
